cisco internal CSU/DSU

2000-09-25 Thread J K

i have a quick question ..

how can i test these devices besides looking at the light on the module.
Reason i some time can not be in front of the routers to check the lights .
if the interface goes down. i can only assume its a csu/dsu. Are their
commands besides the show controllers and sh interface commands ...

Thank You all..

Re: OT:hat is F2 cable

2000-09-28 Thread J K

1 day i jumped in a puddle while holding my router . I was shocked and it
really hurt . It still worked but my f2 cable blew a canuter valve. So i
decided to call the ISP and complain about the weather .. Hop Skipp & a Jump
.

In the end the the telco is never wrong . I know i make no sence in my
paragraph but the telco's in my area need their f2 cable replaced ..

Reverse telnet problem fixxed Thanks

2000-10-09 Thread J K

Mark i found out how to fix that problem with the aux port

basicaly i did what you said telnet 1.1.1.1 2000

but what i did was a show line aux 0 and it said that the aux was using line
1 so then i did a telnet 1.1.1.1 2001 and it worked like a charm ..

Thanks mark

that doesnt really matter if you have a 2511 or 12 or 2509 because all you
have to do is line auc 1 8
transport input all

some ip host commands and wallah you have 8 ports for reverse telnet now
why would i need a dual one for the home lab .

RE: CCIE WRITTEN ---- Please provide your feedback.

2000-08-30 Thread J K

dale is right . You should not be asking such trivial questions to such a
certification. I am quiet on this list . But this is all we here. I have no
problems helping you with bgp ospf, atm , But not with telling you how to
try and become a certified professional. If you are meant to become one you
would already have the know how to use cisco.com to find your information .
So you are insulting me and the certifications i persue .

my 2 cents ..

Re: netbios [7:71084]

2003-06-24 Thread j k
hi pple, well the reason why i ask this is because, recently i was told by
my network manager that there is a virus which uses netbios (udp 137, tcp
138 and tcp 139) as a transport and had acrosses the WAN from a spoke site
to a hub site. And i was told to put an ACL by blocking the above port on
the fastethernet interface, well i was kind of confuse as in, i remember
that netbios arnt routable across the WAN, IF, and i mean IF there is really
such virus uses this ports, they shouldnt be able to traverse to the other
site across the WAN rite?? And when i did some debug ip packet, the udp 136
and or ofcourse the tcp138 and 139, was captured and dropped! at the
fastethernet interface and TR interface (i had place the ACL on both
fastether and TR) but when i place it on the serial, i dun see any udp 136
at all!...i jus need some clarification from people at this forum here
