Hai,

This is out of topic to Cisco. But it is related with Communication, so I
dared to post this in Cisco group. I think knowledgable persons in
Networking won't mind.

If any one having experience in Satellite modems please help me. We have
one Comstream CM701 modem, in that we are unable to configure the
frequency, can any body guide me how to configure frequency in Comstream
CM701.

Help:: Any procedure automated dialup in 3640 ?? [7:45122]

Hai, 


I am using 3640 with NM 16 AM module. I would like to implement a
application with the following functionality. One computer dialin to
cisco, and it will connect, and then from this I want to dialout to
another NAS automatically. 


eg. Node A dials to Async 97 (of cisco), and then Async 104 (of cisco)
should dialout to NAS (Node B), Then NOde A and Node B can communicate
each other.

Is it possible to do it using Cisco 3640 with NM 8 AM or NM 16 AM?? if
possible how can I achieve this.. Does easy IP will help here ?? or any
other possible ways...

Hai,

I am using 3640 with NM 16 AM module. I would like to implement a

What is the limitation in V.35 [7:44032]

Can any one suggest me what would be max. distance support in V.35
signalling. Is it possible to drive the signal  approx. 30 to 35 mts.

If not possible How can drive the signall with low investment...

the same time Mail and web servers on that IPs are also not
accessible. Can any body suggest solution for this..

 I am tryig to analyse a problem that is existing in my network. I have a
 link with PPP on WAN, Till four days back everything working fine. The
 problem started four days back, the problem is I am able to traceroute the
 IPs, but unable to ping to that network. I didn't restricted ICMP on
 end user. What could be the problem, Does any one had this kind of
 problem?

I am not using any firewall or acl s on end router. And My Mainrouter is
Cisco otherside router is Intel 9515. On Intel side we are unable to
ping.

Problem with Fastethernet 2610 router [7:13497]

Hai,

I am facing a strange problem. I am using a cisco 2610 router in my
network. In that I am having one fastethernet, and 2 WIC2T . When I am
connecting to the L3 switch, it is able to ping to that particular VLAN,
and unable to ping to other VLANS or outside of that VLAN. If I use
another router with ethernet card (becuase I am not having another
ethernet card in first router), with the same setup it is able to
communicate with the outside world. So I concluded that it is not the
problem with L3 switch. I tried to find it on cisco site, but unable to
locate the solution.

Sorry, I am testing it on 2620 not on 2610. You are correct in 2610 will
not be having FE. So in my problem first router is 2620, and the second
router is 2610 only.

Yes I am having 2 more cisco routers (3660, and 2610) router and some
Intel routers (excluding the two routers (2620 and 2610)that I am
testing). Cisco routers are connected to L3 switch, and some of the Intel
routers are connected to L3 switch (but on different VLANS)and some of
them connected on L2 switch.

 if this is a true L3 switch, than your 2610 is NOT capable of being an MLS
 RP and there must be another one on the network somewhere.

But here my second 2610 ( in my question) is perfectly able to communicate
with others.

 your routers eth. interface will plug into a single VLAN, with an IP route
 either static or dynamic to those other VLANs via a next hop, the MLS RP on
 your layer three switch.

yes.. But I am not sure about MSL RP in my L3 switch ( I am using Extreme
networks Layer 3 switch)

As far as concerning with Layer 3 switch, I am not finding any
falut. Becuase it is perfectly working with the same port with the second
router. I am only facing the problem when I am connected 2620, with this I

2620 Router-- L3switch -- other network

If I replace 2620 with 2610, then it is working properly. 

In L3 Switch I am having 8 VLANS on port base. And I am using static
routing in that.

I am looking for a video and audio broadcaster over internet. When I am
searching for that product I came to know that cisco is having a product
that will provide me a solution, but it is expensive. So I am looking for
alternative. If it is not available I will go with cisco.

Does any one worked on Cisco IP/TV 3400 series. How is the performance in
the real network. How much bandwidth is required. Is there any similar
products available ?

Strange Problem with router... [7:6293]

Hi,

I am facing a strange problem from last two days. One of my 3640 router
is behaving in a strange manner. 

Sudenly it is becoming 60 - 99 % CPU utilization.(Usally 20 - 30 %) at the
same time It is droping the output packets on Main Serial link (which is
using for uplink/downlink) and input packets on fastethernet (Used for
LAN) port. Even these Interfaces are not overloading..

On the same router I am having 17 more serial links, and 1 more fast
ethernet, and one ethernet interfaces and all are in working. I am using
wccp v1, and BGP also on the same router.

After Observing the problem I did the following things.

1) Increased the hold-queue to 4096
2) stopped the wccp

and observed the status. But there is no use. It behaved in the same
pasion. So I kept the things back. 

I am wondering.. if anybody help me.. The traffic is same and not
varying.. but it is very much flutuating..

Please give me suggestions.. if anybody have any idea..

continuation : Strange Problem with router... [7:6295]

I checked the buffers, there are buffer failures, in the router..

I think this could be because of that particular moment processor might be
overloaded so it might not allocate the time for buffer allocating..

It was fine, and no problems with the same router and same
interfaces.. but the problem arised only for last two days..

Any ideas to overcome this problem..

Thanks for your mail.  But I was using the same for last 16 months, almost
with same setup. I never faced this problem.

mtu is default, pps it can support upto 40,000 to 70,000 (according to
cisco site), in my case it never reached to that point..

Cisco 3640 and Dialup Connection.. TAC failed to solve.. [7:4657]

I have Cisco 3640 with three 16 modems Network Modules. My problem with
this box is 

Not able to connect at first time. After negotiation (Handshaking) it
is disconnecting the user, if I try with the same userid and password it
is connecting.

I raised the case to TAC, but not successful to solve the problem. They
asked for search protecters, and separate earthing for router. We did it,

Having problem with tftp to flash : URGENT [7:3455]

  so the router is trying to boot from flash card but cannot find IOS image
 on
  it.
 
  if you have another router running copy IOS to flash card.
 
  But looking from your config you are using a 2600 and from memory they do
  not use flash cards

WCCP and Routing [7:636]

Hi,

I am using WCCP v1, and I have two links one is for uplink as well as
downlink(say Network A), and the other is only for downlink (say Network
B). And I have different 'Class C' address. Lets say X, Y, and Z.

WCCP is implemented on Serial interface where my uplink is connected. And
router and Cache (wccp box) are on Y network.

My Y (one class C ip block), is uplink on Network A, and Downlink on
Netowrk B.

The router I am using is Cisco, and Netapp Cache machine.

With the above setup I want to achieve the following tasks..

I want to pass X ( 256 Ips) network through Network A for uplink, and
Downlink also from Network A. And the Z (256 IPs) should pass through
Network A for uplink, and Downlink should from Netwrok B.

With WCCP

Hi,

I am using a Cache machine with WCCP version 1. My network is having 1
uplink and 2 downlinks. My network structure is as follows.

Let me say A, B are the existing links, where A is with Uplink and
downlink, and B Downlink only.

Group X  --  Will use Uplink through A and Downlink through A only
Group Y  --  Will use Uplink through A and Downlink through B

Now My cache as well as my router are on 'Group X'. If I make the changes
such that cache and router will come to 'Group Y', and also I want give
the access to 'Group X' network also. 

Now my doubt is if I give the access to cache for 'Group X', does they
are able browse? Is it faster? (I am sure that B is faster than A). 

Is there any better way to approch.. But I don't want to keep entire
'Group X' on B.
