Hi Neal I completed my CCIP a month ago with the BSCI-exam. IMHO the BSCI was much easier than all the other CCIP exams and even the BSCN. Compared to the BSCN there's just some additional IS-IS. Further, this exam didn't go much into deep. To prepare, I used the CCNP preparation guide (cisco press) and read the IS-IS chapter in the Jeff Doyle book. As there were just 'surface'-questions, I was prepared more than enough! I would say, the BSCI-Bosons were much more difficult than the exam itself. As I said: Peanuts compared to MPLS or QoS and MCAST, where you really need to know your stuff. Hope this helps. Hi I agree that there are simulations as well. But, in my BSCI there was just 1 (one) simulation, where I had to configure basic routing on 1 (one) router. If I remember right it was just 1 router command, 2 or 3 network statements, 1 copy run start, finished. OK, I needed quite a lot of time for this, because first I forgot 1 space between a command and a relating number ;-) and unfortunately, the 'router's syntax checker' pointed to a wrong position on the corresponding line... Hi Ok, then the mpls passing score must have changed ;-) (817 was in March, 2002) Actually, the IP Quality of Service book is one of the weaker ciscopress books (I would describe it as chaotic) and doesn't cover all topics from the blueprint. However, I managed the exam with just this book plus some cisco webpages about NBAR (just to get the idea). On the other side, the Multicast book is well structured and written in a 'user-friendly' style (one of the best cisco books). You'll definitely enjoy this book. In my opinion, the QoS book is a good start for the real world. If you want to know more about a topic, then the cisco homepage is a good source. Unfortunately, I don't know whether there are better books out there.
