ccie written/job?

2000-08-03 Thread Sabeen8

Hi group,

As I am done with CCNP and have scheduled my CCIE written at the end of
August. I was wondering if I should start looking for a Cisco job right now
or wait for ccie written. Does this exam make any difference? (how much
salary in New York City? )
Actually, I don't want to forget things that I already covered in CCNP and
want to try CCIE after learning objectives of it in and out.

Another question is about books...I got caslow book, ccie..all-in-one study
guide , lan switching book by kennedy clark, technologies handbook,
ccnp/ccna books...do I still need to buy jeff doyle TCP/IP and Halabi on BGP?

I think that I already have enough books to read for ccie and don't need to
get more..do I? Then CCO documentation is all for us. :)

Please Reply
Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Sabeen

CCIE Written R/S?

2000-07-30 Thread Sabeen8

Hi group members,

CCIE written. How hard it is? How long it will take to study it, if I quit
my job and just study days and nights for it? I want an idea that how much
time other people spent on it. Any feedback? (by the way, I couldn't find it
on groupstudy archive, as I always check it before sending any message)

Will get a full-time job in Cisco environment after I pass it (hopefully)
and study for lab.
I have my CCNA, and CCNP (soon) from Cisco and some other certifications.

Any response will be appreciated. Thanks!

TCP/IP book...Douglas Comer/Stevens/Radia?

2000-07-18 Thread Sabeen8

Hello group,

I want to get a very good book on this particular subject..TCP/IP. I checked
reviews on amazon.com for different books, can't decide which one I should
get. They all seem very good.

Douglas Comer book is..Internetworking with TCP/IP
Stevesnts.TCP/IP Illustrated Vol 1
Radia..Interconnections with ...
and there is another one...Jeff Doyle...Routing with TCP/IP (I am waiting for
the new edition of this book, not out yet)

I have taken MCSE TCP/IP exam a year back but that was for Windows NT 4.0.
I want to learn it at advance level now, for Internetworking.
I am finishing up my CCNP and will be going for CCIE soon.

Any comments will be helpful.
Thanks!

CCNP 2.0 Feedback?

2000-06-15 Thread Sabeen8

Hello all,

I couldn't register for FRS 2.0 Beta exam, as all seats were booked within an
hour. I called during that hour (7:00am to 8:00am) but kept getting messages
that Prometric is closed. Anyway, now I am planning to go for all new four
exams one by one. And I am willing to take them ASAP.
I need help from you guys, who have already passed their CCNP 2.0 track.
Please e-mail me with the names of good books (good for CCNP 2.0), and any
other helpful information for it. I already have CCNP 1.0 Library books, and
some good notes from Cisco web site.

p.s. I didn't find much information from archive, so have to write this
e-mail for getting help. Sorry if anybody got bored with this subject
already.  =)

Thanks!
Sabeen
