looking for a job

2001-03-17 Thread Swapnil

Hi,

I am a job seeker looking for an opportunity in network engineer/administration in
NT, Cisco & LAN/WAN. I am open to relocation. I am open to travel to any extent as
required by the job. The only catch is that I am under legal obligation to continue
employment through the company who holds my H-1B. But they are willing to let me join
another company at a nominal finder fee. They can also let me work on a contract. If
this may work ok with you, I very much look forward to hearing from you. You may
please be informed that I have excellent technical skills and I am interested in
making it in the US. Enclosed please find my resume.

Thanks & Regards.

To Use TACACS+ or RADIUS

2001-03-29 Thread swapnil

Hi All

I am using Steel-Belted Radius for authentication of the users dial into my RAS
server(BAY Networks).
I have a query wether I can use RADIUS for authentication of the users connecting to
my cisco router using vty terminals(telnet).
Can I also use RADIUS for command authorisation as I can do it with tacacs. ?
If I can, does steel-belted Radius support it or if any other RADIUS supports it pls
suggest it.

Depth of study required for CCIE Written [7:70246]

2003-06-05 Thread Swapnil Shah
Dear All

I am planning to take my CCIE written exams in near future.

I have a few queries regarding the depth of knowledge required for the
written exams on certain topics.

1. ATM -->> Do they go on for asking on config of ATM on Cisco ATM switches
or focus is on using ATM as a layer 2 tech. and configuring the routers to
use ATM VC's

2. All Tpoics covered under Multiservice in CCIE Blueprint i.e

Voice/Video (H323)
codecs
SS7
RTP
RTCP
SIP
MPLS

As few of this topic requires a five day course in itself esp MPLS

I would also like to know any good reference material for following topics
covered under WAN

WAN
1. ISDN (LAPD, BRI/PRI framing, signaling, mapping, NI1s, dialer map,
interface types, B/D channel, channel
bonding)
2. Frame Relay (LMIs, DLCI, PVC, framing, traffic shaping, FECN, BECN, CIR,
DE, Mapping, compression)
3. X.25 (addressing, routing, LAPB, error control/recovery, windowing,
signaling, mapping, SVC/PVC, Protocol
Translation)
4. ATM (PVC/SVC, AAL, SSCOP, UNI/NNI, ILMI, Cell format, QoS, RFC 1483,
PNNI, mapping)
5. Physical Layer (Synchronization, SONET, T1, E1, encoding)
6. Leased Line Protocols (HDLC, PPP, Async & modems, compression)
7. PoS
8. DPT/SRP

Your feedback on same would be really helpfull.

Regards
Swapnil Shah

ISDN PRI NailedUp [7:57555]

2002-11-16 Thread Swapnil Jain
Dear Cisco Pals,

I have configured Cisco3661 with E1/PRI Balanced Network modules for dial in
connection from remote users using ISDN TA from a windows PC. Everything is
working fine. Now I have to convert the dialup to leasedline (I mean ISDN
leased line or an ISDN nailed up connection). The TA at remote user supports
nailed up isdn (Zyxel Omni net plus). What configuration changes I have to
have at the 3661 side kindly let me know. The Telecom guys have nailed up
the channels as required. I have searched cisco.com but could not find much
on it. Anybody who have done it could help me more.

I have ICND book from Cisco press but is any extra reading required or any extra
topics not covered in the ICND course book .
Also in Exam outline and Preparation guide on the Cisco site states that ATM is also
included . Are there any questions asked on ATM if yes then where can I find
appropriate material on ATM
Also if somebody can guide on what sort of questions are asked the most or what topics
are more critical and more tricky questions are asked

Please help me out on the above mentioned issues.

Re: Using Proxy-server over a Cisco serial link

2000-08-26 Thread Swapnil M Shah

hi

i do have a similar setup but it works.
the only problem here seems that the two pc's which are on different subnet are not
able to reach the proxy server.(as you cant ping the proxy)
there can be some routing issue between your two lan's else it should work fine .
