RE: Juniper technical question [7:4398]
Try it, may be this can help u out. To trace ICMP protocol traffic, you can specify options in the global traceoptions statement at the [edit routing-options] hierarchy level, and you can specify ICMP-specific options by including the traceoptions statement at the [edit protocols router-discovery] hierarchy level: [edit protocols router-discovery] traceoptions file name ; flag flag ; } You can specify the following ICMP-specific flags in the ICMP traceoptions statement: * error--Trace error packets. * info--Trace information packets. * routerdiscovery--Trace all ICMP packets. * redirect--Trace redirect packets. Example: Trace ICMP Protocol Traffic Trace only unusual or abnormal operations to routing-log, and trace router discovery state transitions to icmp-log: [edit} routing-options { traceoptions { file routing-log; } } protocols { router-discovery traceoptions { file icmp-log; flag state; } } } Thanks and warm regards. Status is up, Line protocol is down [7:1526]
Hello Everybody. I am getting very strange problem in my home network. I am getting Status is up and line protocol is down message. Please check the attached diagram. I am unable to coonect Serial 1 of Router 2 with Serial 1 of router 3 I applied clock rate 64000 command on serial 1 interface of Router 2. Encapsulation on both ends is HDLC. I changed keepalive but was no success. Default keepalive is 10. I checked with sh controllers serial 1 command on router 2 and it showed me DCE interface. Note that DCD=up DTR=up RTS=up DSR=up CTS=up on both side. At the time of booting it shwed me Status is up line protocol is up for few seconds and than it was down. I used same cable on other interface and it is working properly. Cable and interface is is 100% ok thats why status is up. Line Protocol is down means that there is some problems on datalink layer. I think that it could be some masking problem. Please see it and let me know. Cable and interface is is 100% ok thats why status is up. Line Protocol is down means that there is some problems on datalink layer. I think that it could be some masking problem. Please see it and let me know. Status is Up. Line Protocol is down [7:775]
Hello Everybody. I am getting very strange problem. I have 2 routers in my home lab. One is DTE and one is DCE. I am getting this message on my one serial interface. Status is up. Line Protocol is down. (It was up 2 days ago but now I am getting this strange message.) I checked different clock rate speed on DCE router (64000 and 56000 with bandwidth 64K abd 56K) but sill no luck. I checked with different Back-to-back cables. I checked status of Controllers with Sh sontrollers s 0 command on both routers. It seems that cables are ok. I will appreciate, if somebody can send me the solution or possible solutions to solve this problem Thanks Tariq Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=775&t=775 -- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

How about "I don't care because I never print it anyway". Its always in electronic form and its more important to make sure all my experience and skills are documented then conform to some twisted misconception of appearance. Those rules don't apply to technical resumes anyway. They apply to people that have basically no skills and all pretty much look the same anyway. andy _ FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
