text editor

2001-02-19 Thread mondo

Anyone got a link to a good text editor? We use a unix box to telnet out and
view router configs but the notepad on our Win9X doesn't do a good job of
cutting and pasting. Easy add Macros would be cool too. If anyone know of
any links or would like to sell me what I'm looking for, I would appreciate
it.

dlsw?

2000-10-17 Thread Mondo

Hi all,"
Could someone tell me what DLSW is and what it means? I hear it's an old
routing protocol ""data link switching "or "digital line switching "but it's
not confirmed. I can't find anything about it in my books. Could someone
clarify this for me please?
Thanks,
Mondo

cisco academy sem5

2001-04-05 Thread mondo

Hi all. Just wanted to see if anyone completed semester 5 (bscn) at the
Cisco Network Academy. I would like to know if the material gave you enough
information to be competent enough to pass the exam? I was thinking about
studying for it at home but I function better in a class environment.

Thanks,

Re: frame relay local addressing

2001-04-05 Thread mondo

The place I work at uses the dlci numbers as subinterfaces too. I guess this
adds to the uniformity . I suppose it also makes it harder to slip up when
configuring the router interfaces. It must work because I never
misconfigured the wrong dlci with the wrong subint yet.

Re: Can I use FE in 2610 [7:5040]

2001-05-18 Thread mondo

I tried using Cisco's configurator tool and it does not list any 10/100 add
on modules with a 2610. They are on the 2620s and up though. Hope this
helps.

Re: 3660 IOS recovery -Extremely important [7:14616]

2001-08-04 Thread mondo

Hi,

I had a similar issue on a 3640 also. I tried to do a remote IOS upgrade and
there were issues. The easiest way out of your situation is if you have a
pcmcia card with the flash you want. This I think would be the easiest and
quickest way to recover your IOS. If you don't have this card, I do not
believe you can do a ftfpdnld on a 3600 but don't quote me on this.
Otherwise, you need to troubleshoot what is wrong with your xmodem configs.
It may be as simple as having the wrong type cable between your computer and
router. I would also run the "dev" command to see what you got in your
router. If time is an issue, you could swap your flash with another router
to get your customer up and work on the suspect flash in your shop. I hope
this helps and wish you luck. Let me know what happens...
