Type escape sequence to abort [7:60502]
Hi! I have terminal connection to my cisco 1721 router. For example I use ping or traceroute and I want to cancel. What should I do? Ctrl+c doesn't work. RE: escape sequence other than Ctl-Shift-6(x) [7:27760]
That means changing the escape character of the device being controlled by the termserv. What if you have several devices on the termserv. It is better to change the escape character of the termserv itself and leave everything else as default. Try this on your termserv: line con 0 escape-character 92 line vty 0 4 escape-character 92 Then you would press \x to go back to your termserv. Everything else is still Ctrl-Shift-6. If you want to use different escape-character check the link below http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios112/112cg_cr/1rb ook/1rascii.htm -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Stefan Dozier Sent: Thursday, November 29, 2001 10:54 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: escape sequence other than Ctl-Shift-6(x) [7:27760] Try this On line console 0 add escape 27; when you have a ping or traceroute or something you want to break out of, press the [ESCAPE] key. RE: escape sequence other than Ctl-Shift-6(x) [7:27760]
You need to hit Ctrl-Shift-6 for each hop in between you and the router. In this case there are two routers involved so you need to hit it twice before hitting X. As you can see, hitting it once takes you back to the beginning of the chain. Now, let's say you were connected to the console port of R1 and then telnetted through R2 into R3. (R1R2R3) If you hit Ctrl-^ X once, you'll return to R1. Had you pressed it twice before hitting X you'd go to R2. Hit it three times and you'll escape out of that traceroute but still be in router 3.
