Hey all, I am back on for the day,
Have a 2503 router with suspected 4MB flash. I need to upgrade from IOS
10.2
to at least 11.3. Problem is that IOS 11.3 is 5MB.
What can I do besides upgrade the flash.??

RE: IOS upgrade, failure [7:3513]

2001-05-08 Thread Deloso, Elmer G (WPNSTA Yorktown)

Phil,
If this is the case, please explain then why i was able to upgrade my 2516
from a 10.2 to 12.1(8) when there were no boot rom chips on the board? The
two 1/2-inch squares were empty. Yet the sh ver says it has IGS-RXBOOT
something. Am i missing someting here? I did put 16F-16D in it. But I reload
and 12.1(8) looks okay. Of course, I haven't had time to run routing
protocols on it. Thanks.

11.2 wiil work, if you have @ least 4 Megs of RAM. Your 10.0 boot ROM's
will make the interfaces disappear in anything above 11.3-ish, until you
upgrade them to 11.0's.

Re: IOS upgrade, failure [7:3513]

2001-05-08 Thread Circusnuts

The IGS statement is you boot code I would venture to say it's an
identical statement to what I have in my 12.1(3) 2511 router.

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 11.0(10c)XB2, PLATFORM SPECIFIC RELEASE
SOFTWARE(fc1)
BOOTFLASH: 3000 Bootstrap Software (IGS-BOOT-R), Version 11.0(10c)XB2,
PLATFORM
SPECIFIC RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

You definitely must have a ROM code the IGS-BOOT-R (Version 11.0) allows
you to run the 12.X in the 2500 series boxes
