I took the CID beta last December and my rather hazy memory doesn't recall any scenarios of the DCN style. However there were quite a few questions with less detailed 'scenarios' - not as separate exhibits, but as a particular set of information (e.g. network topology, application requirements, whatever). The same set of information was identical in several questions, but with different questions asked about it. As with the DCN scenarios, not all of the information was relevant to any particular question. Maybe this is what he was talking about? Priscilla and Company, I just passed my CID test 640-025. Being careful not to void my NDA :-) I will tell you that I saw no case studies. I was kind of disappointed because I love to design firewalls, networks and etc. and was actually looking forward to the challenge. I will say though out of all of the Cisco Career Certifications that I have, which includes CCNA, CCDA, CCNP and now CCDP, the CCDP was the hardest test of the four without a doubt. A lot of my colleagues warned me about this test and they were right. It was 100 questions given in about 2 hours I think. I finished in about an hour. Having taken both CID 2.0 (a VERY difficult test) and CID 3.0 (a somewhat difficult test), I can tell you that there are no scenario questions on either one. There may be some questions that give a bit (a very small bit) of background, but nothing even close to the scenarios that are on the DCN exam. To my knowledge, CID4.0 is yet to be released. Is your brother-in-law quite sure he didn't take DCN? Even if he registered for CID, it's conceivable that he got the wrong test. Have him check his score report. I think CID is at 3.0 now. It has been for years. But Cisco beta-tested 4.0 recently. Maybe it is live now. I don't think it has case studies, but I could be wrong. I think your bro is confused. DCN (for CCDA) is chock full of scenario-based questions. I took CID in March and there were no scenarios. There was a different CID test in beta at the time. Did it have scenarios? When did 2.0 come out... AFAIK CID was still the same exam it was.. (1.0) I'm gearing up for CID in a week and a half or so, any input on what is actually on the CID is appreaciated.. No case studies would be fine with me.. =) I just remember my brother-in-law (who is a loyal Boson test user) was bitching because the Boson exams had NO case studies on it, and (like I said) his actual CID exam was almost 1/2 case study questions.. No scenarios on the CID test. 100 questions multiple choice. There is not even multiple checkboxes "choose all that apply". It is a very straightforward test but do not underestimate it. If you are prepared it is a VERY fast test. Hi All, Just want to thank all of you for there feed backs. Passed CCDA today. 72 question, 755 to pass, scored something over 850. The exam itself is not too hard, but the way Cisco presents the scenario questions is very strange. About 4 scenarios are spread among the 72 questions. What I mean is you got 1 question on case 1, the next question on case 4, then some non-scenario questions and so on. I only used Cisco's CCDA Study Guide.
