Ms. Oppenheimer, Are the new ccnp exams going to be 642 level exams? I
recieved got that email from Cisco but after looking at the list of 642
exams, I just assumed that it was only for tests that I wasn't going to be
taking. I thought they had already updated the BSCI test. Am I way off
base here?

Cisco is always updating their exams. I think the new batch will be 642. I
don't know a timeframe. The CID exam replacement is imminent because they've
announced that one. But the other ones haven't been announced, so we can't
assume any dates for CCNP exam replacements.

But they will update it again too. Sorry I don't have more info.

the new CCNP exams are already in place and you are correct in stating that
it will renew your CCNA cert. Go to cisco.com and check the outlines of the
tests to see specifically what they cover.

On Cisco Press's web site they are offering a CCNP Certification boxed
set.
At the bottom under similiar titles listed are individual books like
Cisco
Internetwork Troubleshooting and Building Cisco Remote Access Networks,
etc. Does the books in the new Certification boxed set take the place of
the
older books or do these supplement them?

 Thanks,

Lee,

I did my CCNA a year ago under 1.0 and am currently taking my CCNP exams
under 2.0. I don't believe it matters as long as your CCNA is current,
which I believe is 3 years on the CCNA. So you should be okay.

Subject: CCNP certification

Hello everyone,

Just a stupid question - I did my CCNA certification (ver1.0) about
2 years ago and I'm currently studying for CCNP. Is it true that I must
first re-certify my CCNA before I could take my CCNP exams? Or can I
just do my CCNP and don't have to worry about my CCNA. Can somebody
please shed some light on this?

Hunt Lee

Your CCNA 1.0 is valid towards the CCNP 2.0 track. If your getting close to
having to re-certify the CCNA (It's valid for 3 years) you don't think
you'll be done with the CCNP by then, you may have to re-certify CCNA before
the CCNP will be valid. Here is a link to the CCNP site.

Best of luck

support exam has 70-75 questions and you have 140 minutes. foundation (I
took ver 1.0 foundation) had 70-75 questions and the same time frame. you
should score at least 700/1000 to pass the test. Foundation exam did not
allow you to go back andreview the questions.

RE: CCNP certification

2000-07-04 Thread Francisco Muniz

Right now you can't take foundation, so depending on your timing you will
have to take all 4 exams. Other than that, it's up to your exam taking
tastes. Do you like longer or shorter exams? There's been plenty of
discussion on the subject a while ago, so may want to check the archives.
Now as far as I'm concerned I'll take all 5 tests (for CCNP/CCDP) because I
don't want to wait. If I had the choice, though, I would much rather take
foundation, and get it over with quickly, as I get very anxious around test
week :-)

 Hello all,

I need your advise.-- which is better to take for the CCNP certification

 a) The single exam path of four exams or

 b) The foundation exam path of two exams.

Kindly give me reasons for your prefered choice.

 Thanks,
