Re: Is CCIEprep on crack or what ? [7:32787]
I have seen more than a couple of times trainees install a DB60 cable upside down. Not sure if the proctor would do that, and even if I'm sure, I won't tell you. :-P As for the rest of the stuffs, if you understand and can configure all the things that you are suppose to know at the CCNP level.. you are quite close for the lab... Re: Is CCIEprep on crack or what ? [7:32787]
Good Day Guys, I am looking for a reference for CCIE study. I am currently a CCNA and schedualed to take the Switching exam in about 2 weeks. After that , I will only need the CIT for CCNP. I noticed that you said that if you prepared well for CCNP that the CCIE wasn't that much further. I hope that is true. I have been working with cisco products for about 4 years now. I have been slow at getting certified , mostly, out of a lack of confidence Well... out of laziness and a lack of confidence. Are you a ccie regards, amanda Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=32795&t=32787 -- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You can definitely install a DB60 upside down. I won't even say I've watched a trainee do it, I've done it myself. It is easier than you think, the hood becomes distorted and it becomes even easier the next time. -Original Message- From: Ozzie Sutcliffe [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, January 21, 2002 11:35 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Is CCIEprep on crack or what ? [7:32787] I was looking over some troubleshooting stuff and on of the scenario's involved a router that was fine and the admin goes to lunch. Comes back from lunch,S0 is down and down,a show controller sees no cable . The rest of the garbage raves on about about the DB60 being symmetrical and the cable was installed upside down. Every DB 60 I have seen was NOT symmetrical and would take some cutting with tin snips to install upside down. The 12 secenario's I saw were really advanced CCNA not even CCNP level stuff.. Is this the standard of CCIEpreps stuff ??? Slightly related is a favorite troubleshooting exercise of one of the first 10 CCIEs: set up a dual-homed site, and switch the two WAN cables during lunch. >Yes it's quite easy to do!! Yes, Lou Rossi frequently uses crack from what I understand. It's very popular in Florida! J/K (Lou's a great guy and doesnt use crack) It is VERY easy to install one of DB60 cables UPSIDE-DOWN. thanks, -Brad Ellis CCIE#5796 (R&S / Security) Network Learning Inc [EMAIL PROTECTED] used Cisco gear: www.optsys.net CCIE Labs, racks, and classes: http://www.ccbootcamp.com/quicklinks.html ""Ozzie Sutcliffe"" wrote in message [EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:[EMAIL PROTECTED]... > I was looking over some troubleshooting stuff and on of the scenario's > involved a router that was fine and the admin goes to lunch. > Comes back from lunch,S0 is down and down,a show controller sees no cable FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You haven't seen such cables, so you think CCIEprep is on crack? This troubleshooting trick is as old as the Cisco training department. Probably older than you?! ;-) Actually, I checked my drawer of old cables and couldn't find any such cables, but I'm pretty sure they do exist. And I did label both sides. Still didn't prevent it. I'm now leaning towards that super glue fix someone suggested. :) Prof. Tom Lisa, CCAI Community College of Southern Nevada Cisco ATC/Regional Networking Academy "[EMAIL PROTECTED] (John Nemeth)" wrote: On Jun 14, 2:36pm, "Tom Lisa" wrote: } } I've had that problem with my CCNA students. An excellent suggestion, unfortunately I'm physically incapable of implementing and I can't afford the legal fees after the parents sue me. This is the U.S. after all, land of the lawyers and home of the litigants.
