RE: why the prompt is different for 5505 switches? any one know?
>From the 5505>(enable) prompt enter "show module" >From that display determine in which slot the router (RSM) card is located. As Stefano gave in his reply we can imagine that it is in slot 4. Then enter "session 4". You will verify the slot as given above. That will get you to the 5505# prompt. It may require passwords just as a router will. The router module may be a daughter card on the Supervisor engine. I believe that it is called a Router Switch Feature Card (RSFC). Then enter "session 15". > -Original Message- > From: Chee Tong Sim [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Tuesday, August 08, 2000 12:07 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: why the prompt is different for 5505 switches? any one > know? > > > Then how to get the 5505# configuration of RSM module > (internal router) from > 5505> prompt, after I type 5505> en ENTER password it will > guide me to > 5505> (enable) mode. Re: why the prompt is different for 5505 switches? any one know?
1) If your colleages sent you the config files from the 5505 switch fabric then it would look similar to the second line "somertarou>(enable)"; however, your colleagues sent you the config off of the supervisor engine. 2) To get the to the switch fabric, get the address of the fabric and telnet to that.
