I'll second Foxmarks. It makes it easy to keep the same list on multiple
machines.

 you use multiple computers.

I can get them?

Check out MozBackup. A great tool for backing up and restoring Firefox
and Thunderbird.
You can just copy the Mozilla subdirectories, but this free utility is
easy to use.

Run a file search for bookmarks.html. There may be more than one copy on
your machine. If so, look at the file size for all of them and pick the
largest one (or all that are more than a few KB).

On your new machine, back that file up regularly.

You can open that file as a regular html file and use it if you like.

FF2.x is similar to 3.x, except commands for sorting are in the View menu instead of
attached to buttons.

Download, http://www.mozilla.com/. For plug-ins/Add-ons, support, forums, see links at top

Now, if FF3 were Vista, that would be phrased differently:

FF3 is not so bad unless you want to run legacy plug-ins.

If you were asking this question 5 years ago it might make some sense.
But FF3 stores it's bookmarks right where they belong, and it's got a
great built in organizer.

I suspect that, instead of learning how to use the new organizer,
you're trying your best to operate the same way you did years ago, and
not surprisingly, it's not working.

Firefox 3.x - Bookmarks menu Organize Bookmarks

You can view your choice of columns, sort, move, delete, backup,
