Well... now which one is the right one (?)  
yes I know, I'll check md5sums ;o)

one has 624.0mb (CD1)
and 635.4mb (CD2)

Anyway... its just Beautifull..  Not a single glitch during 
installation...
all went nice and smooth  what a nice job!!1 Honor to whom deserves it!

It looks great, I switched video cards... my previous was a savage4
xtreme 32 mb replaced by a nVIDIA M64 32mb also... not a single
problem... wow!

This must be it... ready for GOLD!

DrakeConf
then click on System
then click on Services

You can see there what is running and what is not.

You can activate whatever service you need...
or turn off those you don't  ;-)

This is exactly what I was about to say...
give the guys at mandrakesoft a little more time, they are working
with cookfire, and mandrake 8.0 (Traktopel) at the present time.
I am sure all the little details pending with fonts will be solved soon!

We have the BEST Linux distribution that there is! MDK  ;-)

The diffence between lan and cable setups is that if you choose cable it will
ADD the dhcpd server...  in my case is working perfectly with my cable modem.

If I go to the configuration again it says  but actually its IS
connected and working.  ;-)

I just can't access the cdroms, one is a scsi
and the second is a Aopen cdrw 12x10x32x

The problem with my NIC cards were solved just calling the right drivers...
eth0-Realtel RTL8139 eth1-3com 3c905bTX it uses 3c59x driver ok
the first uses the 8139too driver not the rtl-8139

Another item missing (or maybe removed) Netscape browser... (?)

and had a few problems configuring Cable.. but those have been fixed already

I bought an Iomega Zip drive long time ago, it was a parallel port drive
after using it for just a very few times, after some time without use, I tried

Use your windows floppy boot diskette and run fdisk /MBR
to gain access to windows again.

Then use your floppy diskette to login into Linux... (your Linux diskette of course!)
the one you made when installed Linux.

start linux and reinstall LILO.  that's it! 
you have a dual boot option again.

David... the same happens to me after installing the new cooker, 
I have licq running now, all I did was to re-install manually
all the rpms again... (I guess the installation script just misses
some packages)
do that and you will have a working LICQ without problems. ;-)

Why I am getting a message that says I am using a linuxconf 
for redhat 4.0 instead of redhat 5.0?

Every time I run linuxconf I am grtting this message and 
suggesting to upgrade to the appropiate version ;-)

At installation I got a couple messages complaining about not being able
to install emacs-2.0.7-4mdk and emacs-X11-2.0.7-4mdk

No they are still piled up in the upper left corner...

Whats has problems is Kmail, it segfaults at start, never creates the
dir mail.

Another thing I found is KDE is no longer the defauld desktop, I had to
select it and reboot to login into kde.

everyday looks better, its been running fairly stable and sure looks
good!

BTW I also like a few other things, like the bootloader screen, red
ohh there are many many thing I like about!  heading in the right
direction!

used teh browser in win98 se and it crashed 2-3 times.  installed it in linux
and has yet to crash.  .just wishful thinking?

I liked the browser myself.  stuff is d/l'ing in under ~1 second.  IE took 3-5
seconds to d/l material & display it.  of course, high speed isp users
will like this mostand man i do!

Another spam on the Mandrake list(s)!  How much spam is enough already? 
We seem to be up to at least one per day now.  When are we going to say
enough is enough?

This was another spam that would not have made it to the list were you
using the RBL!!  The package I sent you just after Christmas would allow
you to use the MAPS RBL and would have prevented this spam from reaching
the list!
