Are the people within the enviro movement going to file lawsuits against the Dept of Interior, Bruce Babbitt, and the various enviro groups and organizations that are involved as they would have done if a logging company had wanted to do the same thing? Has anybody in the enviro movement sought a court injunction to stop the plan until an EIS (which would take years) was done? I hope I am wrong, but the likely answer to those questions is a big fat NO, and it is not likely to happen in the future. Why? Because it is people within the enviro movement supporting the cutting of trees. .because their leaders are the ones doing it. We don't have leaders. While you may not have any, most of the others dance to the drums of either the Sierra Club, and other so called mainstream groups. Yet others dance to the drums of the more militant groups like Earth First and others. I find it interesting that leaders/followers in the enviros proclaim logging to be evil UNTIL it suits their purposes and their leaders advance the plan...then its OK. The article merely demonstrates how two faced those people are. Had this been a logging company that made the proposal, the screaming would have gone on, and on, and on, and on. People would have been filing lawsuits and climbing the trees in grand canyon in protest. As I have observed this is an example of when some people in/around/connected to the environmental movement consider it "expiedent" to log trees by the 100s or thousands, then its OK. But if a logging company wanted to do the same exact thing, they would be instantly denouced as evil, lawsuits would be filed, and on and on. Since you claim to be concerned about tree issues,and such, you also apparently have no "leader" to worry about, nor are you a follower of any of the major groups involved , I would expect that you will probably be the first one of many lawsuits to be filed against the plan. As Miss Lewinsky was grappling with his fly and felt sure that she nearly had it, and did not want Mr. Clinton to be seen with his penis hanging out, she took the presidential penis into her mouth so that it would not be visible should anyone enter the room. Mr. Clinton was unable to use his own hands for this purpose as he was assisting Miss Lewinsky by holding her hair out of her face so she could properly visualize his fly. It took some minutes for Miss Lewinsky to fix Mr. Clinton's fly, and it was during this time that another staff member entered the room and apparently completely misconstrued the situation. The next reminder I get was from the days of Nixon when some of the conservative Nixon defenders were howling how he did nothing wrong, BUT even if he did every other President did it etc etc. If Clinton violated the law and committed perjury and other illegal acts, then he should be convicted and removed from office. The founders gave the Senate two choices. Either to remove from office (Convict) or not to remove from office (acquit). Unfortunatly an acquital will send a message that lying under oath is OK; 1) if it involves your personal life, 2) if it involves your sex life or otherwise, likewise it will send the clear message that BEFORE any person in America can be tried and convicted of any crime, we first need to 3) consult the local, state or national opinion polls to see if we should. Had we run an opinion poll in LA during the OJ simpson case we probably would not have even had a trial. 4) permit the jurors of any trial in America to have personal involvement with the defendant during the trial. If the defendant happens to be wealthy or well connected the jurors could go to partys and dinners sponsored by the defendant...all the while claiming to be fair and impartial. The OJ simpson criminal jury would have to be considered the leading example of how a fair and impartial jury should work. 5) Prosocuters would have to take into account the liberal/Democratic definition of morality. Which in essence is any person who is "true" to "issues" is to be considered a moral man. What he does in his private life doesn't matter. So as long as he is true to issues, then he can cheat on his/her wife/husband, or be a rapist, child molester and so on, all the while being a "moral man." 6) If the person is true to issues and makes "contributions" to society/people as a whole then no charges would "rise to the level of conviction.." 7) Under the new feminist definition of sexual harrassment, if your a man, its OK to expose yourself to a female staffer or otherwise, AS LONG as you stop/pull your pants up if she says she is not interested. The enviros don't have a problem in the world with removing 8000 trees from Grand Canyon Park but they are concerned about the "means" Apparently it was suggested using horses instead of trucks to haul the cut down trees. Sec of Interior Babbitt (who is consided to be a God by some enviros) claims this so called experiment is "necessary."I would point out that if some logging company had made the suggestion, the enviros as a whole would have been foaming out the mouth, but when it comes from their own, and from "god" Bruce, then its ok. Apparently while the enviros still worship "old growth" we are to realize that growth less then 15 inches is considered expendible. Grand Canyon Plans Experiment and the Removal of 8,000 Trees By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS PHOENIX -- A proposed experiment in Grand Canyon National Park would mean cutting down about 8,000 trees, and though environmentalists support the project's ends, they are concerned about the means. If allowed this summer, it would apparently be the first time one of America's 52 national parks had been logged. But park officials said the experiment would not be a timber operation. The experiment is intended to find the most effective way to improve the overall health of the forest by creating restoration areas for cutting and controlled burning. Park officials released a draft environmental assessment this week indicating that about 8,000 trees would be removed in the project. They also scheduled public hearings for next month in Arizona and Utah. Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt said the experiment was necessary because "for many years we suppressed naturally occurring fire and, without meaning to, created artificial, unhealthy and dangerous forests." The Sierra Club and the Grand Canyon Trust agree that something must be done about years of fuel buildup in the park, which they say could cause fires, insect and disease outbreaks. But some environmentalists fear too many trees will be cut down. "You can always cut down more trees, but you can't put them back," said a Sierra Club forest specialist, Sharon Galbreath. "Should we be experimenting in a national park, with a method that resembles full-scale logging?" R. V. Ward, a Grand Canyon Park biologist, says trees are cut all the time," like in road-widening projects. He said the experiment must be conducted in the park because no place else could duplicate the conditions. Ward said every effort will be made to prevent damage to the forest, including the possibility of using horses instead of trucks to haul cut trees. According to the plan for the Grand Canyon, none of the trees cut will exceed 15 inches in diameter and none will be sold commercially, a park spokeswoman, Maureen Oltrogge, said on Friday. Among the novelties of travel to the Eternal City will be a prepaid ``pilgrim's card'' visitors can use for restaurants and hotels and to book visits to the Vatican and other holy sites. The card, with a memory chip, is one of the services being prepared by organizers who have turned to computers to deal with the invasion of the millennium, when millions of people are expected to travel to Rome. It will help visitors avoid carrying too much cash in a city notorious for pickpockets in some places, particularly the bus connecting the main train station to St. Peter's Square. Vatican and Italian officials preparing for the millennium told a news conference the card will include information on the pilgrim's identity, hotels where reservations have been made, travel and tourism plans and pertinent medical information. The card can be used for services including city transport, telephone calls, restaurants and even insurance policies. Francesco Silvano, a member of the Central Committee for the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000, a joint Vatican-Italian group, said the decision to use the card was ``courageous.'' There will be Jubilee Days for children, artists, prisoners, teachers, scientists, athletes, politicians, workers, union members and reporters. Chief Vatican spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said the Vatican expected at least 10,000 journalists to travel to Rome at various times to cover events. One significant date in the Jubilee calendar is March 8, 2000, the ``Day of Request for Pardon.'' On that day the Catholic Church and its faithful are expected to ask for forgiveness for past errors, including contempt for Jews and heretics. One Jubilee Day will be dedicated to an inter-religious service at Rome's Colosseum on May 7, 2000, for ``new martyrs,'' some of whom were not Catholics. Vatican officials say possible candidates to be commemorated in the service include U.S. civil rights leader Martin Luther King, assassinated in 1968. Rome city officials have been racing against the clock to prepare for the celebrations and hundreds of construction projects are under way on roads and buildings. The enviro's also use this exact process to accomplish their goals. The Earth First gang (who works closely with the NWO gang) has come up with plans to have 48 percent of America to be "human free." One of the people was interviewed said that they realized that their goal will not happen in the short term, but in the long term over 25-40 years (2030-2040) they will accomplish their goal.Well you ask, how would they do that, after all the American public would rise up and fight? No they wouldn't because it was done gradually. Years ago I lived in the Mojave Desert in California. My family and I did all the outdoors kind of stuff, and fought like hell to prevent the government from grabbing our land. So called patriots at the time said "well it will never happen here...blah blah blah. I moved away 20 years ago, and within the past 5 years many of the areas I traveled through/on are now fenced off wilderness. The people in Calif fought the battle and lost and have moved on with their lives. Of late people that I know down there say that the land that is actually open for use, is being used so heavily, it is unbelievable. Guess what is going to be closed next, using the justification that the land is being damaged blah blah. The people that peddled the wilderness areas in the first place had the goal of sealing off the entire desert BUT they couldn't do it all at once, so they do it piece meal and get everything they want over a period of 20 years. Our farmers have to submit any trade dispute through NAFTA/GATT. Anytime you ship a "hazardous material", motor oil, hair spray, lube etc, you submit to NWO regulations.When the US shipping regs are changed to the "international" shipping regs, everytime we ship something we are submitting ourselves to the NWO. As long as change comes gradually, people as a whole will not rise up and complain. Speaking of change, what about Hustler being labeled a "news magazine." Thats quite a change from even 5 years ago. Pudy Gang, Couple of things that have been conviently forgotten. What was actually reported is that Barr and the other woman refused to answer questions on the stand during a divorce proceeding. So Barr and this other woman never lied under oath because they never actually answered the question put to them...apparently he claimed the 5th or something like that. But claiming the 5th must be ok because notable Democrats such as Carville, Lanny Davis and others have done it during various "under oath" sessions during lawsuits and grand jury. The difference between Barr and Clinton is Clinton answered the question(s) and lied under oath. Had Clinton fessed up to getting oral sex from Monica in and around the oval office in January of 1998 when the scandel first blew up, it would have never led to impeachment...although the Paula Jones case may have still been on going..which is why Clinton lied in the first place. Which brings me to the next point. The liberals/Democrats et all define morality as 'being true (supporting) to the political issues' i.e. abortion, welfare, and such, with your private life not being a factor in your morals. Under the Democrat/Liberal principle and definition being advanced a dedicated member of the militia/KKK/NAZI's or whom ever would be defined as "moral men" as long as they remained true to their political issues during the day. After all what they do at night or after hours doesn't matter under that definition. Likewise if a loyal Democrat (or any party) person was true to the issues during the day, but molested children at night, then he too would be considered a moral man. Under the liberal/Democrat definition of morality it would be ok to fool around on your husband or wife...as long as you were 'true to the political issues' while you were serving. So if Liberals and Democrats are true to the principles and definitions advanced by their leaders nothing Bob Barr/Livingston or any other Republican did could even be remotely considered to be immoral. The proof of this principle is what the head of the Democratic party and the President of the US did when Livingston resigned over his philandering. The President called for Bob Livingston to NOT resign over sex issues. Interestingly it was all the Democrats who were calling for Livingston not to resign while the Republicans said nothing. It is because of the above mentioned point (about the Democrat/Liberal definition of morality) is the exact reason why the White House/Democrats/Liberals/Feminists are now embracing Larry Flynt. Even to the point of White House press secretary calling Hustler a "news magazine." We see that even though Larry Flynt has exploited women and promoted child molesting, what he does is OK because Flynt is true to the politcal issues. I am curious. Just north of Dubois is a large Dept of Agriculture "sheep station." To set the flavor of this picture the Dept of Agriculture station which was used as a cover for a circlular underground lab which worked on viruses and such in the movie Andromeda Strain. When you talk to the folks in Dubois (of which the small community supposedly depends on sheep station money for its small economy) nobody and I mean absolutly NOBODY has any clue what is done, other then to say something about "sheep research."When you ask some locals the question "do you have family that works there?" The answer seems to be "yes, but they don't talk about it" Usually is one newspaper article a year about some sheep this or that and that is the size of it. Then you have the LA County Dept of Corrections (Yup you read it right, Los Angles Calif) BUS that appears in Dubois during the night about twice a year or so. Apparently the bus stays for "a couple of weeks" then it drives off again in the middle of the night. Supposedly nobody knows who the driver is, why the bus is their, or 'who' comes in the bus but they are so used to its appearance that it isn't given a 2nd thought. Get rowdy. Get serious. The VAST MAJORITY of Americans want censure, not impeachment or removal from office. This huge majority of voting Americans cannot and will not be ignored by Senators anxious to retain their seats in Congress. This country is governed by the rule of law, not the rule by lynch mob, i.e. rule by whatever the majority decides. Imagine what Tom would do if an opinion poll was done, or the "vast majority decided"in his home town which advocated tearing down his house to make room for some new community something. Tom would instantly go and want to talk about the rule of law and the Constitution as opposed to what the so called vast majority want. In the long term, Democrats and the American People must do more, though. They must get out and vote, as so many did in November, in each and every election. However, this is especially true of the year 2000 elections. If the People really get out and vote, Democrats will control both Houses of Congress and the White House. Inspite of the "pending" impeachment threat against a President that supposedly has over a 65 percent approval rating from the people of America, these same people still permitted the Republicans to retain a majority. Before the election many of the Democrat blow hards were all proclaiming how the American public was sick of a ll this, how they were going to vote the Republicans out etc etc. That still leaves Republicans in control of The Supreme Court, the majority of Governorships, and most of the Establishment Media, often called the fourth branch of government. However, it will put a serious dent in Republican plans to practice more of their slash and burn system of anti-democracy which they've become so good at these past six years. If you believe in the Constitution then you are anti-democracy...because you realize just as the founders did that a democracy is dangerous and ends in a very violent death. America is a Constitutional Republic where the rule of law is greater then any ONE person, any GROUP of persons, any IDEA's whether they be conservative or liberal and any POLITCAL party. All of this is very doable, my friends. A little-remembered, but much worried-over fact (by the Repubs), is that in terms of the raw number of voters out there, the Democrats are the majority party in the United States (with Independents running a strong second). And since we have a winner-take-all system of elections, instead of the much more civilized proportional representation, Dems have an advantage. Democrats lost in 1980, 1984, 1988, lost Congress in 1994, 96 and 98. So what is the point about having an advantage. The Republicans though are able to compete by utilizing their most cherished, most highly-valued and sacred commodity: $$money$$. Lots of it. Preferably corporate. And in large, unmarked bills, thank you very much. Tom fails to comprehend that both partys milk the money cow. It was Democrats who were in power and who gave us the current system of soft money in 1974/75 during the post watergate campaign money reforms. Of course back then Democrats were milking the money cow major big time and people like Tom didn't care as long as his party was at the money trough. But mainly, the Republicans think American voters will forget all about the Republican coup of 1998, come 2000, because of voter ignorance and memory deficiency.

Last week, Landes, 49, a medieval history professor at BU, traveled to Jerusalem to spend New Year's Eve interviewing a group of fundamentalist Jews awaiting the arrival of the Messiah. He plans to also be in the holy city on Dec. 31, 1999, when thousands of pilgrims from all over the world are expected to come in anticipation of salvation, destruction or the arrival of celestial beings. Religious zealots and mainstream believers alike attach great significance to the arrival of the 21st century, although they disagree on exactly what will happen. Much attention has been given to the Y2K problem, the term coined to describe computers' inability to deal with dates after Dec. 31, 1999. However, Landes and his colleagues are tracking some more eccentric folks as well. For example, there is a group in Indonesia hunting out witches to prevent them from doing any millennial mischief. Another in the American West believe Y2K is an omen that the Earth is nearing its end, with destruction to come at the hands of aliens sent by God to punish humanity for ruining the environment. Most of the center's time is spent on more concrete matters, however. In particular, Landes says he hopes his research will persuade municipalities, businesses and individuals to take the Y2K problem even more seriously than many already do. Whereupon, he made a statement - which I could Speaking from the point of view of a former police officer, it is no surprise that a person that has no ID and admits to be homeless will garner more police interest then a person with ID. The unfortunate aspect of this case is how the cops handled it. The could have handled it reasonably, or outrageous. The Watch Commander jumped out, and ordered me to spread eagle and bend over. My purse and brief case was already sitting next to the first patrol car where I had been ordered to place them. I was in fact crammed into the first officer's squad and driven to a cell in the Campus Police Station. Even though, on the very short drive to it, I remembered that I in fact had my driver's license because I had brought my credit cards with the intention of getting some cash out of the ATM on the way home, to tide me over the long 4 day weekend - Christmas! No matter. I would still need to be put in a jail cell, provide fingerprints and photo (of a very tired lady with unkempt hair - who knew). Yes, I was given a ticket. There was some confusion on the part of the first officer on the scene. He did not know what to law to cite on the ticket. I had been arrested, not for jay-walking. No, I am going to court because I was unable to identify myself. I wish this was the end of the story, and it would have no importance for you. But, it does not. December 29, 1998 at 10:30 AM, I walked over the Campus Police Station to get a complaint form. I was made to wait 20 minutes with two different excuses. 1) the Watch Commander was on the telephone with another citizen; 2) the Watch Commander was out in the field and would be returning. Finally, at 10:50 AM, Lt. Manny Garza walked in and threw a red "visitors" badge on the counter. I told him I just wanted a Complaint Form that I could fill out away from the station, as I was sure that the officers involved in the event would see me there filling out the form. Lt. Garza said I would be fine, and he was there to convince me that the Campus Police were good officers. We walked back to an interview room, and sat down. First mistake was talking to

And scandals" now can be virtually created by the right's awesome attack machinery: a vast conservative media, including dominance of Washingtons pundit shows; well-funded "watchdog" groups and think tanks; legal groups that file civil suits against ideological enemies; far-right federal judges, including ones controlling key appeals courts and the special prosecutor apparatus; and both houses of Congress with their broad powers to investigate. Folks apparently wants us to forget the fact that LIBERAL DEMOCRATS was the party which gave us the special prosecutor apparatus, and they also fail to mention the many attacks on Republicans over the years which came from such leftist groups/think tanks as the Institute for Policy Studys, People for the American Way, Greenpeace, ACLU, and on and on which have filed suits and done the same exact thing which Consortium berates others for. We should also recall that Consortium's President Bill Clinton, unzipped his pants, and let a White House intern perform oral sex on him, then directly lied about it. Had Clinton fessed up in the first place, he never would have been impeached. The House Republicans looked clunky at times, making self-righteous speeches and losing Speaker-designate Bob Livingston to his own sex scandal. But they still whipped GOP "moderates" into line and drove home two articles of impeachment against Clinton. Livingston did the honorable thing and resigned. I found it interesting that Clinton called for Livingston NOT TO RESIGN.The way I see it, the leader of the Democratic party and the left has asked a Republican leader not to resign over his sex scandel because the White House termed it "politics of self destruction." Further that people in that era and time frame could worry about all those problems...after to those who lived in the 60s, 2000 wasn't going to happen for 30-35 years so why worry about it. Guess what. Governments and institutions continue to use old code and old mainframes. As I recall from my reading their is already some kind of problem with the year 2019, and 2030. Are the computer geeks and guru's bothering with those problems? NO! Why not? Because they are worried about more immediate problems, and figure they will deal with those problems down the road. The truth be known, human nature never changes. In the UK, there is some publicity from Banks and Bureaus re dealing with Y2K but as usual - there is this mind - numbing blanket of media silence, whilst the TV continues with its other agendas. The media will do what it always does, and will continue to do. That being to not seriously bother with Y2K coverage and problems until two to three weeks or perhaps days before it happens. Take any issue in the media. For example US Super Bowl coverage in newspapers will seriously begin 1-3 days BEFORE the Super Bowl. Serious coverage of the Senate impeachment trail will start trickling out 1-3 days before the trial is expected to start. Should the US or UK bomb Iraq again serious coverage will start either at, or just after the first bombs start falling. Speaking of that, supposedly nobody knew when the US would strike Iraq, yet the media was all in place on top of the information ministry in Bagdad, AND supposedly CNN reporter Christian Amonpour had to drive 19 hours over the desert to get into Bagdad for the start of coverage. And people are expected to believer that NOBODY knew when the bombs would start falling. Anybody that believes that, I got a bridge in brooklyn for sale. In 1988 many people in the Pacific Northwest will remember that as the year of the fires in Yellowstone Park. I happened to be visiting West Yellowstone, watching all the reporters doing their thing for the nightly national news casts. TV reporters from all the networks were assembled in a line, spaced about 3 feet apart doing their standups in front of network cameras. I noticed junior grade people running up to their networks guys with papers. All of a sudden people are scurrying around, packing up etc etc. I asked one of the reporters "Hey, whats going on?" The reporter said some big hurricane or storm was expected to hit Texas and cause alot of damage so they were headed down to cover that. I asked something to the effect of "Well the fires are still going..." To which his response went something to the effect of: 'Well we in the news business, especially the TV side, go in a figurative sense to one smoking dead body to the newest smoking dead body and Texas is where the next smoking dead body is...' Needless to say, Y2K will not be a smoking dead body until perhaps as late as Dec 28th, 1999. The EO sets up a "Interagency Working Group on Human Rights Treaties" but as people who know the government, their are many Interagency working groups on many things. --Begin EO-- THE WHITE HOUSE Office of the Press Secretary For Immediate Release December 10, 1998 EXECUTIVE ORDER - - - - - - - IMPLEMENTATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS TREATIES By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and bearing in mind the obligations of the United States pursuant to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CAT), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD), and other relevant treaties concerned with the protection and promotion of human rights to which the United States is now or may become a party in the future, it is hereby ordered as follows: Section 1. Implementation of Human Rights Obligations. (a) It shall be the policy and practice of the Government of the United States, being committed to the protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms, fully to respect and implement its obligations under the international human rights treaties to which it is a party, including the ICCPR, the CAT, and the CERD. (b) It shall also be the policy and practice of the Government of the United States to promote respect for international human rights, both in our relationships with all other countries and by working with and strengthening the various international mechanisms for the promotion of human rights, including, inter alia, those of the United Nations, the International Labor Organization, and the Organization of American States. Sec. 2. Responsibility of Executive Departments and Agencies. (a) All executive departments and agencies (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 101-105, including boards and commissions, and hereinafter referred to collectively as "agency" or "agencies") shall maintain a current awareness of United States international human rights obligations that are relevant to their functions and shall perform such functions so as to respect and implement those obligations fully. The head of each agency shall designate a single contact officer who will be responsible for overall coordination of the implementation of this order. Under this order, all such agencies shall retain their established institutional roles in the implementation, interpretation, and enforcement of Federal law and policy. (b) The heads of agencies shall have lead responsibility, in coordination with other appropriate agencies, for questions concerning implementation of human rights obligations that fall within their respective operating and program responsibilities and authorities or, to the extent that matters do not fall within the operating and program responsibilities and authorities of any agency, that most closely relate to their general areas of concern. Sec. 3. Human Rights Inquiries and Complaints. Each agency shall take lead responsibility, in coordination with other appropriate agencies, for responding to inquiries, requests for information, and complaints about violations of human rights obligations that fall within its areas of responsibility or, if the matter does not fall within its areas of responsibility, referring it to the appropriate agency for response. Sec. 4. Interagency Working Group on Human Rights Treaties. (a) There is hereby established an Interagency Working Group on Human Rights Treaties for the purpose of providing guidance, oversight, and coordination with respect to questions concerning the adherence to and implementation of human rights obligations

December is the beginning of real movement towards True Truth and Open Disclosure. It is the separation in the ranks between those who want real truth from those who only want the conspiracies and fantasies - it refers to the breakdown of illusions - old structures folding so that the news ones can come. This is the real conspiracy - our very own ranks are split in two. When January 1st comes (or pick a month in 1999) that will be the big month that all the events, openess, or whatever is going to happen...according to reverse speech. If we are ever to find real truth, we need to discard the fabrications of the past. December will be the month where this process begins. If nothing happens in December, should we also discard the fabrication of reverse speech? I recall when people were living and dying so to speak on every word that would come out of a remote viewers mouth until the remote viewers thoroughly discredited themselves. Remember Brown and Dames and the martian colony hive in New Mexico, confirmation (after Chuck Sharmak unloaded his mistaken pictures on the web) of the companion object allegedly following Hale Bopp, not to mention many other predictions, tales and storys that haven't come true yet? However, should Clinton get impeached, the defenders of reverse speech will instantly finger that event as fulfillment of the reverse speech theorys and tales. And the infamous reference - "Bring in NASA with December's seven" is about the triumph of NASA. It is interesting to note that on December the seventh, seven astronauts, the leader on his 7th space walk, joined the two major sections of the space station together and started a new era for NASA and the human race.
