Bug#728936: installation-reports: still present on PowerPC netinst as of 2013/11/24 Followup-For: Bug #728936 Package: installation-reports

2013-11-25 Thread Rick Thomas
Dear Maintainer,

when it got to the "chose language" screen, there was no response to the
keyboard or the mouse.

See below for details...

-- Package-specific info:

Boot method: CD
Image version: /cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/powerpc/iso-cd
Date: 2013/11/25 approximately 01:00 UTC

Comments/Problems:

I downloaded the powerpc netinst installer from
  /cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/powerpc/iso-cd

  debian-testing-powerpc-netinst.iso 2013-11-24 23:02 257M

I checked the md5 and sha1 sums, and burned it to CD. All went well.

But when I booted it (on two different G4 machines and a G5) when it got to the
"chose language" screen, there was no response to the keyboard or the mouse.

Anybody know what's up with that?

Thanks!

Rick

This report is being done on the G5 PowerMac mentioned above, after a
successful install with the Wheezy 701 PowerPC CD#1.

Obviously, I can't submit anything from the failed install, because I can't use
the keyboard to access any information.

Bug#730527: git: auto colors broken with lv

2013-11-25 Thread Olaf Meeuwissen
Package: git
Version: 1:1.8.4.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Since upstream has made color.ui=auto the default, my git experience has
suffered. I use lv as my preferred pager and somehow that doesn't jive
with what the various git commands feed it. Pagination itself works but
instead of colors I get to see control codes like below (partial output
of git diff):

  ^[[1mdiff --git a/.mailfilter b/.mailfilter^[[m
  ^[[1mindex aa4f0b2..17e113e 100644^[[m
  ^[[1m--- a/.mailfilter^[[m
  ^[[1m+++ b/.mailfilter^[[m
  ^[[36m@@ -1,11 +1,58 @@^[[m

Using GIT_PAGER=more or GIT_PAGER=less works fine and show paginated,
colored output. Nice!

I am loathe to switch to less though, as I have to deal with files in a
number of different encodings at the same time. The lv pager does a
good job at automatically detecting those on the fly, less does not.

I am not sure what would be the best approach to fix this. The pager
command is there for a purpose and if git would silently change to a
different one, I would certainly be surprised (and depending on the
diff, confused as to why changes don't look as expected).

Come to think of this, you might even argue it is something that ought
to be fixed in lv (but I don't know if that's even possible).

I guess for now I'll just turn off color.ui ...

I just submitted the pull request, you can see my branch here:

I am just browsing random packages while commuting to work and see what pops up,
so I am not getting highly involved in Ganglia.

Bug#730526: why: uninstallable on sid

2013-11-25 Thread Johan Gronqvist
Package: why
Version: 2.30+dfsg-5+b1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
The package frama-c was updated to a new upstream version in sid, but the
versioned dependency in frama-c was not updated, which makes the package why
uninstallable in sid on amd64 (and others).

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Try to upgrade frama-c without removing why.

I expect that why needs a new version with an updated dependency.

Thanks

Johan

Bug#717952: freetype 2.5.0 package is ready

2013-11-25 Thread Steve Langasek

> I've prepared freetype 2.5.0.1 package. Do you have any reason to not
> update it to 2.5.0?

Mainly the fact that the upstream lacks any comprehensive test suite, and
each new release brings new and different reports of font breakage in
Debian.

> If not, could you check and upload it, please?

The package there claims in the changelog:

  * Now make it "multiple upstream source" style instead of "tar-in-tar".
New style makes it easier to check source code with search engine like
sources.debian.net.

But the package is *not* in "multiple upstream source" format; instead it
merges all of the sources into a single tar.xz which does not match the
upstream sources.

- add libfreetype6-dbg package (Closes: #281558)

Nack on this. We should not be adding more -dbg packages to the archive.
Anyone who cares about this should spend their time helping to make ddebs a
reality instead.

So, there seem to be some good changes in this package, but it's not in a
state that should be uploaded to the archive.

Hello Pierangelo,

THere are a few concerns with your translation work:

^^^

This is broken: the first " character should be removed

> "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8\n"
> "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit\n"
> "X-Generator: Poedit 1.5.7\n"
> "MIME-Version: 1.0\n"

And this last line is therefore a duplicate.

This can be seen with:
msgfmt -o /dev/null it.po
that shouldn't spit out any error.

After fixing that and resyncing with the current POT file, it appears
that you probably based your translation on the POT file that was in
the package. However, these strings were changed by a review so after
a resync there are fuzzies and untranslated strings in your
translation.

Could you please recomplete the attached file?

In case moredetails are needed, I recommend coordinating with other
people in debian-l10n-italian.

OK, so you are still active?

I was contacted by the MIA team at start of October saying that they had
had no response from any other jed team members so unless I wanted to
adopt the packages they were going to be orphaned. I said I would do
that, at least for jessie as I still use jed as primary editor (although
I'm trying to move to emacs so I don't need to maintain it too long!)

So I too was under the impression that no-one was really looking after
these packages any more. I'd be glad to hear that I'm not the only one
that cares.

Bug#730521: 'git checkout' should recurse into submodules

2013-11-25 Thread Jonathan Nieder
Package: git
Version: 1:1.8.5~rc3-1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream

Hi Anders et al,

The patches in https://github.com/jlehmann/git-submod-enhancements.git
branch recursive_submodule_update are known to have problems in edge
cases, but I don't think they'll ever be found and ironed out without
testing from a larger audience. So I'm thinking of including the
--recurse-submodules patches in the next upload to experimental.
What do you think?

Bug#730522: gnome-shell: Leaking once again

2013-11-25 Thread Agustin Carrasco
Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.8.4-5
Severity: important
Tags: d-i

Dear Maintainer,
I'm experiencing a memory leak very similar to those that were around on
versions 3.0 or 3.2 of the package. Takes around 2 hours to get up to 400MB of
RAM usage, and it even got to 2GB of RAM during the course of a day (leaving it
unattended for a good bunch tho).
I tested disabling all of my extensions and the results is pretty much the
same, maybe a little slower to get to the same amount.

I have another computer using Arch with gnome 3.10 and the leak doesn't appear
to be present there, even when I have pretty much the same setup (Desktop
Environment wise).
Could this be a particular issue with the current version on testing?

snapshot of the "next" branch to experimental. What do you think?

I checked the wrong XBMC, xbmc 11... in unstable needs libcec (>= 1.1)
thus current libcec is OK for it.

The qlxgbe and glxge drivers were introduced into kfreebsd-10 by
r250661 and r252206 respectively. kfreebsd-9 and kfreebsd-8 packages
do not have these drivers, but kfreebsd-9 has a similarly named qlxgb
driver which does not contain the affected MPI dump code.

Fixed by upstream SVN commits r258155 and r258156.

Good catch. I'm packaging 2.2.9 and it will place dovenull in its own

existing installations change it manually.

Well, I can totally reproduce it now. Start with a wheezy (stable)
system with emacs (23) installed, upgrade to jessie (testing), and then
install the haskell-mode. It will not byte compile to the emacs23
flavor.

Now, if I remove emacsen-common and reinstall, everything works.

I still don't understand what is going on, given that emacsen-common is
the same version in wheezy and jessie. I'll keep poking around as I find
time...

Cheers!

Package: monodevelop

It seems that Version Control sections in Preferences are not properly
preserved.
For example: in Commit Message Style section,
after checking up "File list and message in separate lines",
closing Preferences menu, and reopening Preferences,
then it becomes unchecked.
The same is occurred in Message Style tab in ChangeLog Integration section.

Please give an inspection on this problem.
Thank you.

Control: found -1 python-cogent/1.5.3-2
Severity: normal

python-cogent refers to cd-hit-est, which I presume is the standard
upstream naming for cd-hit. However, in Debian, the cd-hit package
installs cd-hit-est as cdhit-est.

I don't know which is correct, but either cd-hit or python-cogent should
be fixed (or both!)

Secondarily, cd-hit really should decide whether it is called cd-hit or
cdhit, as it installs some commands called cd-hit and others called
cdhit:

/usr/bin/cd-hit-div
/usr/bin/cdhit-est
/usr/bin/psi-cd-hit-local
/usr/bin/cd-hit-2d-para
/usr/bin/psi-cd-hit-2d
/usr/bin/psi-cd-hit
/usr/bin/psi-cd-hit-2d-g1
/usr/bin/cdhit-454
/usr/bin/cdhit-2d
/usr/bin/cdhit-est-2d
/usr/bin/cd-hit-para
/usr/bin/cdhit

Bug#730488: dicoweb: broken with Django >1.4

  MEDIA_URL = 'static/' ?

yes

Sorry i had no time to prepare a proper patch.

Nevertheless, having a program also working on older versions would
need more work.

Please clarify what you mean here.

I guess upstream would be willing to have conditionals in order to
support newer and older Django versions with the same code, thus a
basic patch is ok for Debian and as example, but they may have
additional work.

Regards.

Bug#730512: libvte9: Unnecessarily stealing shift+up/down in the alternate buffer

2013-11-25 Thread Tim Marston
Package: libvte9
Version: 1:0.28.2-5
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainer,

When in the alternate buffer, scrolling is not possible (and is
disabled, in fact). But the Shift+Up and Shift+Down key presses, which
usually scroll the screen up and down by a single line, are still
stolen by libvte. This deprives applications that use the alternate
buffer of them.

By way of an example, you can use C-S-up and C-S-down in emacs to
select blocks of text (just as C-up and C-down are bound to move to
previous/next paragraph). This is no longer possible in any terminal
that uses libvte9, such as xfce4-terminal.

Since the alternate buffer doesn't provide scrolling anyway, it would
seem reasonable to pass these key presses to the terminal in this case.
This behaviour can be seen demonstrated by mintty (a Windows-based
terminal emulator) and works very nicely. It works so nicely, in fact,
that it wasn't until I realised I couldn't use C-S-up/down in emacs at
home that I realised I had been using these key presses at work for
different purposes in the normal/alternate buffers!

The accompanying patch causes libvte9 not to process the Shift+Up/Down
key presses when the alternate screen is being used.

Bug#730510: Please package new upstream version

2013-11-25 Thread Balint Reczey
Package: libcec
Version: 1.6.2-1.1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

XBMC in unstable requires libcec-dev (>= 2) to build and practically
xbmc would be the only package depending on libcec.
Please package a newer libcec version to let XBMC build with libcec
support again in unstable.
Currently the XBMC package is broken many ways and now I'm trying to
make it at least build again.

Thanks,

Bug#730509: iceweasel: Knockout Firebug Hang

2013-11-25 Thread Tijs Maas
Package: iceweasel
Version: 17.0.10esr-1~deb7u1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
I was playing with Knockout.JS, but suddenly iceweasel hang with 100% cpu.
I already figured out that this is NOT an iceweasel problem, but rather a
combination of iceweasel and firebug.
It seems that firebug cannot handle the infinite recursion.

This was achieved by using example code from Knockout.JS, and I added a
function overload (even through JS does not support that).
I did this:

// Class to represent a row in the seat reservations grid
function SeatReservation(name, initialMeal, var3) {
var self = this;
self.name = name;
self.meal = ko.observable(initialMeal);
self.var3 = var3;
}
// Function overloading, not supported by JS, this calls itself inf times.
function SeatReservation(name, initialMeal) {
return SeatReservation(name, initialMeal, 0);
}

::;::;::;::;
Here is my example code (crash.js), see
http://learn.knockoutjs.com/#/?tutorial=collections

If you want to close this ticket, that is fine with me.

If at any point in the future I reproduce the problem again, I will reopen

I tested the packaging and commited an upgrade to 0.7~rc5.

Packaging is fine. The only change I would propose to move the VCS from
mne-python to python-mne and also name the source package python-mne.
This would be way more comfortable from my personal feeling how things
should be.

Yaroslav, I'd be keen on hearing your opinion about my naming change -
feel free to override my opinion!

Kind regards

Bug#730507: [Pkg-monitoring-maintainers] Bug#730507: ganglia-web: Cross-Site-Scripting Issue in Ganglia-web 3.5.8

2013-11-25 Thread Daniel Pocock

Hi Eric,

The security team recently made an assessment of Ganglia and decided to
only provide limited security support for the web interface.

Normally the web interface is only used by knowledgeable users and
protected by some kind of web server ACL or HTTP authentication scheme.

At best, pkg-monitoring will continue packaging the upstream releases
and people can use them as they are.

As well as helping with the Debian packages, I'm also an upstream
committer, so please submit your fix as a github pull request upstream
and if nobody else processes I can accept it through there and it will
then come through the next upstream release into Debian.

Can you please let me know if this explanation is acceptable, lower the
severity to important and let me know if you would like to get more
involved with the Ganglia development

Thanks for the report

Regards,

Daniel

Bug#730365: ftp.debian.com not in the mirrors file

2013-11-25 Thread Ken Sharp
I imagine they're similar to people who cannot read bug descriptions
correctly, but without the attitude problem.

Of course if this imaginary documentation read "NEVER USE A MIRROR
WITHOUT FIRST TRAWLING THROUGH THE MIRROR FILES!!!" then I'm sure it
would be remotely relevant. It doesn't so it isn't.

I'll make sure the world knows how much this has upset you, so that they
don't do anything like it ever again.

First, please learn how to quote emails correctly.

Second, please read the official documentation. No sure whose wild
phantasy created this repository URL.

Third, I will add it anyhow. Apparently there is a "ftp.debian.com"
alias to ftp.debian.org which serves people who are not able to read
official documentation... so we maybe should help them.

Bug#730489: this is/was user-error .

2013-11-25 Thread shirish शिरीष
I removed the delay part and used the 'break parameter and was able to
get 2 more lines of output which told me it was only who was to blame
and not anybody else.

I saw the following.

Begin : Running /scripts /init-bottom -- done
Target filesystem doesn't have requested /usr/lib/systemd

This told me that I had mistyped where systemd is located .

I went to https://wiki.debian.org/systemd and got the correct one :-

init=/lib/systemd/systemd

and updated the /etc/default/grub.

Ran the update-grub script and rebooted. This time no issues at all.

You, Guenter, are listed as uploader, so there is an active
maintainer. I have not read from Jörg in some time, yes. The last
non-maintainer upload was done by gregor hermann, but why do you need
to get in touch with him?

Bug#730507: ganglia-web: Cross-Site-Scripting Issue in Ganglia-web 3.5.8

2013-11-25 Thread Eric Sesterhenn
Package: ganglia-web
Version: 3.5.8
Severity: grave
Tags: security upstream
Justification: user security hole

Dear Maintainer,

upstream was already notified
(https://github.com/ganglia/ganglia-web/issues/218)
but no reaction so far.

=== Security Advisory ===

Ganglia-Web 3.5.10 - XSS

Affected Version

At least ganglia-web-3.5.8 and ganglia-web-3.5.10

Problem Overview

Technical Risk: medium
Likelihood of Exploitation: medium
Vendor: Open Source / Debian
Reported by: Eric Sesterhenn
Advisory updates: http://www.rusty-ice.de/advisory/advisory_2013002.txt
Advisory Status: Private

Problem Impact
==
While taking a quick look at the web interface, a
XSS issue has been found. It is possible to execute JavaScript
in a victims' browser after tricking the victim into
opening a specially crafted URL.

Problem Description
===
The following URL opens a JavaScript popup in the users'
browser:
http://localhost/ganglia-web-3.5.8/?r=custom&cs=1&ce=1&s=by+name&c=1&h=&host_regex=%27%3E%3Cscript%3Ealert%281%29%3C/script%3E&max_graphs=0&tab=m&vn=&hide-hf=false&sh=1&z=small&hc=0

The GET variable is retrieved in file get_context.php, line 89
and placed into the variable $user['host_regex'] without
escaping. This variable is then placed into the $set_host_regex_value
variable in file header.php, line 494 and printed at line 518.

Temporary Workaround and Fix

Apply the following patch to properly encode the variable:

--- header.php.old 2013-09-30 21:07:26.272287657 +0200

Bug#730450: icedove: crash after updating 10->24 with lightning add on

2013-11-25 Thread Berni Elbourn

Oops. The instructions http://mozilla.debian.net/ fixes this.

My sources.list looked like this...

# Mozilla
deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ wheezy-backports iceweasel-esr
deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ wheezy-backports icedove-esr

which I recall originate from sed'ing squeeze to wheezy for the Debain upgrade. Removing those entries fixes the apt-get
update.

Sorry for the noise - please close me.

Bug#728920: stockfish: polyglot.ini should refer to /usr/games/stockfish and autodetect the number of cores

2013-11-25 Thread Daniel Moerner
Hi,

Newer versions of SF (4+) no longer support autodetection of cores anyway,
since the autodetection was detecting hyperthreaded cores. (See git
commit a16ba5bbd1034417f864476e4ba33d35970557db.) So when a new version of
SF is (hopefully) uploaded to Debian, part of this patch won't be needed or
desirable. But changing the default execution path is of course correct.

I cannot reproduce this problem, could you post your
/usr/share/info/dir, or the relevant part of it?

I think it's related to a known problem: symlinks, such as
  /usr/share/info/gcc.info.gz -> gcc-4.8.info.gz
don't work for info, for it only searches through the dir file.

debian/gbp.conf is read by git-import-orig when importing a new

anything
because it is (somehow) standard, comes with a standard

The filter-pristine-tar option makes sure a filtered tarball is

Bug#729681: globus-core: should not migrate yet

2013-11-25 Thread peter green

The full Globus Toolkit 5.2.5 should migrate to testing together.
However many of the updated packages got diverted to the new queue due
to package splits/renames done in order to support Multi-Arch.

This bug is filed to prevent the migration of globus-core before the
packages diverted to the new queue are ready to migrate
It seems a load of globus related packages just migrated and now have
uninstallable build-dependencies in testing because globus-core is
blocked from testing migration by this bug (and by being too young).

  So the line should be:

  href="{% url 'opensearch' %}"

  right ?

  MEDIA_URL = 'static/' ?

So, you have installed Debian with KDE, including networkmanager gui.
If you want to use the KDE graphical interface for managing network
(what's the best way to go for you, I think), you have to delete any
stanza for the wireless lan interface (eth1 in your case ?) out of
/etc/network/interfaces.
The networkmanager gui does not care about interfaces, which are
defined in /etc/network/interfaces.

These binaries do not appear to be rebuilt at build-time, and the source
for them does not appear to be available, thus the package is most
probably not DFSG-compliant.

this issue is releated to the missed header from the Yahoo system.
Without "List-ID:" in the message header Icedove can't identify the mail
correctly an no "Reply To List" is shown.

The package is almost complete.

I uploaded my changes to the git repository:
git://anonscm.debian.org/collab-maint/turpial.git

I need to sort out a couple of small issues with upstream and after
that, this package should be back in the archive.

Bug#730502: live-build does not support finding image on lvm

2013-11-25 Thread Jay Berkenbilt
Package: live-build
Version: 3.0.5-1
Severity: minor

I use live-build to build my own custom images, a feature I love
having. I have my system set up to boot one of my live images from my
hard drive, and this works well. Recently I reinstalled my system and
put /boot on lvm since this works fine with grub2, but my live images
no longer work in this configuration. I determined the problem to be
that the /lib/live/boot/* scripts on the initial ramdisk don't call
vgchange -a y anywhere prior to attempting to locate the root.

To be specific, lvm2 works fine in the live image including in the
initramfs if I run it manually. What doesn't work is that the
initramfs code that mounts the root (in the initramfs context, so I
mean the image that contains the live file system) won't find that
image if that image is on a a file system in lvm. The regular
initramfs code (/scripts/local-*) includes code to initialize lvm, and
in general booting from lvm works fine and has for some time. It
seems to me that this is just an omission of initializing lvm in the
live boot code. For example, if I have this stanza in grub.cfg:

menuentry "Q Debian Live 64" {
search --no-floppy --label live-images --set=root
linux /q-live-64/vmlinuz live-media-path=/q-live-64 hostname=qlive
boot=live config
initrd /q-live-64/initrd.img
}

it works correctly if the file system with label live-images is a
regular disk partition but if it's a logical volume, it doesn't work
because /dev/mapper/live0-images (or whatever it's called) doesn't
appear. From the (initramfs) prompt, I can type vgchange -a y and
see/mount it fine, so all the modules are there.

I'm not attaching logs, etc. in this case. For me just copying my
live images to a non-lvm partition works fine, and there's no question
of some kind of subtle config error on my part...there is simply no
code that tries to do this. As a quick and dirty change, I tried
sticking the lvm vgchange command that is run from the "local" boot
(vs. the "live" boot) in 9990-main.sh prior to attempting to mount the
root, but that didn't work (I think it hung -- I remember a similar
problem in an earlier dracut), and I didn't pursue it further.
Basically I didn't put a lot of time into debugging it since just
moving the images to a non-lvm partition is okay and doing a lot of
debugging on the older version of live-build is probably a waste of
time.

I tried running the current unstable version of live-build, but it
didn't run to completion and I don't have time to debug it right now.
Perhaps you've already fixed this going forward. If not, this would
be a nice thing to be able to do. But not a big deal.

Bug#730489: it seems increasing the boot_delay parameter for some reason does not even get me the panic screenie.

2013-11-25 Thread shirish शिरीष
Hi all,
I tried increasing the boot_delay parameter first at 3000 and going
beyond. What is happening that I don't get to the kernel panic screen
and get shown a blank screen. Have no idea why it's doing that.

This is some more info. I was able to garner from subsequent tries
with boots. I am not sharing the numbering as they are all different
but just attempting to get what happens so with people's help can get
a fuller picture or someway to do things better :-

One of the interesting comments seemed to be this :-

MTRR : Your CPU's had inconsistent MTRR settings
MTRR : probably your BIOS does not setup all CPU's
MTRR : Corrected Configuration

( I did observe the first statement in all the boots, but not sure
about the 2nd and 3rd statement. I did observe it on the last boot at
least and hence was able to record it.)

I did search the web and found this :-

https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/x86/mtrr.txt

Doing it on another boot in rescue mode gives me this :-

$ cat /proc/mtrr
reg00: base=0x0 (0MB), size= 2048MB, count=1: write-back
reg01: base=0x07f70 ( 2039MB), size=1MB, count=1: uncachable
reg02: base=0x07f80 ( 2040MB), size=8MB, count=1: uncachable

I have no idea whether the above observation is significant or not.

Further down the line I saw this :-

ACPI_OSC support notification failed, disabling PCIe ASPM

This probably is nothing as don't think I have PCIE bus.

then little further down I get 9 systems wakeups disabled

Then little after that I get :-

ACPI Exception = AE_Not_Found, while evaluating sleep state [\ _S1_]
(20130517/hwxface-571)

ACPI Exception = AE_Not_Found, while evaluating sleep state [\ _S2_]
(20130517/hwxface-571)

There are 2 sleep states and both have that exception. It had something like

ACPI : PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 *10 11 12 14 15)
ACPI : PCI Interrupt Link [LNKB] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled
ACPI : PCI Interrupt Link [LNKC] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 10 *11 12 14 15)
ACPI : PCI Interrupt Link [LNKD] (IRQs *3 4 5 7 10 11 12 14 15)
ACPI : PCI Interrupt Link [LNKE] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled
ACPI : PCI Interrupt Link [LNKF] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled
ACPI : PCI Interrupt Link [LNKG] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled
ACPI : PCI Interrupt Link [LNKH] (IRQs 3 4 5 7 10 11 12 14 15)

some number was given LNKH but cannot remember.

If I understand write, it's just the kernel telling which IRQ is given
to which device (like mouse, keyboard etc.)

A little further down, I get this :-

vgaarb: device added PCI::00:02.00 decodes = 10+ meme, Owns=
10+mem, locks=none

then little further down :-

ACPI : bus type PNP registered

another little further down :-

PNP : PNP ACPI ; Found 15 devices registered.

A few more lines and then no output anymore, staring a giant screen.
PNP : PNP ACPI

Non-plussed as to what to do next.

Bug#730310: Debian Testing

2013-11-25 Thread Shawn Sörbom
I just tried SSL and unencrypted pop3 fetching on Debian testing using the
private server. Unencrypted worked, SSL did not. However, this time there was
no error message. Under SSL, the fetch progress bar completed, but when I
tried again, I got a message saying that the previos fetch failed and I shoud
re-enter my login information.

Given that there were no error messages this time, I would like to try using
the debug symols, but I could not find a -dbg package for kmail. Where is it?

Dear Maintainer,

I'm unable to start a gnome fallback-session without composite-extension
enabled.

With composite extension it's possible to log in normally.

This problem appeared with gnome-updates about a week ago. Using gdm3 I get the
"Oh no! someting went wrong" dialog. With lightdm the login-dialog just
disappiers.

I was able to get things working again by reverting gnome-session,
gnome-session-bin and gnome-session-common to versions from stable. (This also
ment I had to change grom gdm3 to lightdm to get fever dependencies from
stable.)

Now I re-installed versions from testing to submit this bugreport and still get
the same errors.

Sam, were you planning to work on fixing this in krb5-multidev or should I
add it to my list?

Bug#730438: UDD: bugs.cgi confused: lists bugs as affecting sid even if the package has been removed

Isn't this due to debian-installer-7.0-netboot-kfreebsd-* referencing
kfreebsd-8 from their Built-Using field? This means the source for
kfreebsd-8 is still part of sid:

$ rmadison kfreebsd-8
 kfreebsd-8 | 8.1+dfsg-8+squeeze3 | squeeze-security | source
 kfreebsd-8 | 8.1+dfsg-8+squeeze4 | squeeze | source
 kfreebsd-8 | 8.2-15~bpo60+1 | squeeze-backports | source
 kfreebsd-8 | 8.3-6 | wheezy| source

I step in. I'll start with the git stuff.

I am used to my local version control and release scripts, so using a
public git repository would be an additional hassle for me. But it could be
indeed a good idea, I will think about it.

I have introduced a framerate limit. Also it now stops music and rendering
if the window loses focus. I am not sure whether I should already release a
new version with just this small change (some other changes might appear
soon), but the changes are here:

I think changing this would take more time than it would save...

Actually, I think the patch is preferable, and has the advantage of
being easily edited if we determine we need to modify compilation flags
for mipsel as compared to armel, etc.

I have successfully built mipsel in a qemu image, so 2 of the 5 are
down. I'll take a stab at s390x next, but probably using a porter box.

Cheers,
