That regexp is of course in another spot in the source too, I have refreshed my NMU and have a debdiff for both places. See attachment. I will upload it to delayed/10 most probably today if there's no objections. best /Andreas gus...@debian.org gdebi_nmu9.debdiff Description: Binary data

Please don't mix stable with testing/unstable. You are running geeqie from testing/unstable, but on Debian 12 - this is not supported. Geeqie 1:2.4-2+b2 is built against the packages in testing/unstable, so I don't know if it would work on stable or not. If you want to run geeqie 2.4 on stable, build it yourself, but then don't report the bugs on the Debian BTS, because you are running stuff that isn't from Debian. I'm inclined to simply close this report, just because of this, but in this case the cause of the problem COULD simply be that it seems to look for the plugins in the wrong place. Where do you have that org.darktable.darktable.desktop file? is it in /usr/share/geeqie/applications or in /usr/local/share/geeqie/applications - which would in it's turn imply that you have mixed also Debian packages with a locally built geeqie. (Which is _another_ source of problems that you can run into). /Andreas Rönnquist gus...@debian.org

From the minor tests I have done, filezilla (without the msse4.1 patch applied) builds fine on gcc-14 on i386 (and all other arches), which however isn't even in unstable yet. I have of course also tested also building with the gcc in unstable (13) on i386 without the patch, and there filezilla doesn't build. The fix in gcc-14 seems to be this: https://gcc.gnu.org/git/gitweb.cgi?p=gcc.git;h=9a19fa8b616f83474c35cc5b34a3865073ced829 But I of course understand that it most probably is a big investment to get something like this into stable. Control: reopen 1064648 Those fixes was obviously not enough, just see the repro reports. The strange thing is that it according to the tests does seem to build reproducible on arm64... Previously my interest in 4.4 was because of alex4, but since that package has turned out to be non-free and moved there, my interest in it has waned, and consequently, in allegro4.4 too. I believe a big part of Tobias Hansens interest in Allegro 4 was due to Aseprite, which have turned to a license that cannot be packaged in Debian (but I don't want to claim that I 100% know Tobias reasoning). If anyone really wants to have allegro 4.4 still in Debian, my suggestion would be to step up and help out with the package (but since I believe upstream has no interest in it, I don't know how doable it is). I am considering removing myself from the allegro 4.4 package, but still keep working on the 5.x one. There I soon have a upload coming, I am just waiting for [1] to get solved (Fixing multiarch stuff for cmake package config). Of course, removing 4.4 would mean removal of quite some small nice little games, but sometimes you just have to endure the negative. /Andreas Rönnquist gus...@debian.org 1: https://github.com/liballeg/allegro5/pull/1543

(This is on the version in stable, but not on testing/unstable). Then you can drag images to a position on the map to set the GPS coordinates for images. Without libchamplain you have to enter GPS coordinates manually, which of course is way more unintuitive. - but it can still be done. Libchamplain is dependant on clutter - and clutter is going into retirement mode upstream (see https://blogs.gnome.org/clutter/ ). I believe the functionality of libchamplain/clutter in geeqie might be re-added using the methods mentioned there sooner or later - GTK4 and libadwaita. Sure, it's a feature that gets dropped, but i find this preferable to having it not working on remote X (as in #1027753 - [1]). The clutter support has also been removed in unstable, as you can see in the other bug (#1018123 -[2]). >Looking at the diff, I think the change is actually the removal of a >/build/ dependency, not a runtime one? (It's a browser setting). As you have noticed, the links at the bottom of each page does only change to the translated version of the current page, if you then click another link it will go back to the browser set language again. To make the complete Debian website show in another language, change the language setting in your browser. How this is done is described in detail on https://www.debian.org/intro/cn If you for some reason don't want to change the browser language setting, there is a way to set a cookie in the browser that also will change the shown language. Is there some new release team policy to remove orphaned packages? One simple way to hinder such removal (if it is valid) would be to take over maintenance yourself. I don't want to maintain a package that don't have any future in Debian - and packages that depend on gtk2 will be removed sooner or later - maybe even MUCH later, but still, if they will be removed I have very little interest in maintaining them, as this means that users WILL have to find alternatives. And this of course means I wouldn't have anything at all against anyone else taking over maintainership - Please do so if you find the package useful and valuable to maintain - I might even sponsor your uploads if needed. /Andreas

Bug#1025113: O: asunder -- graphical audio CD ripper and encoder
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Control: affects -1 src:asunder I intend to orphan the asunder package. Upstream has no interest in migrating to GTK3, and will keep maintaining the current GTK2 version. Because of this, my interest in the package is minimal - see #967259 [1]. Can you think of anything non-standard in your use-case? I have tested having the image in a folder which is a symlink to the real folder, and it still works, and have tested both pngs and jpgs, which both works.n Do you have spaces or characters in the folder names which might cause problems? You could try to first backup your config folder $(HOME)/.config/geeqie/ and then delete it - it will regenerate a new fresh one when running geeqie again (PLEASE don't forget to backup it before so you can restore it after if you need the settings you have), and see if this affects things. /Andreas Rönnquist gus...@debian.org
Bug#985404: qa.debian.org: Packages overview VCS field doesn't consider a debian/experimental branch
Package: qa.debian.org Severity: wishlist The VCS field on developer Packages overview doesn't seem to consider a debian/experimental branch. In my example, the package scite, where unstable has version 4.4.5-2, and salsa has the tag debian/4.4.5-2 on the debian/master branch, and it has 5.0.0-1~exp1 in experimental, and the tag debian/5.0.0-1_exp1 on the debian/experimental branch. The Package overview shows Git - 4.4.5-2 (with the version in red as if there's a problem with it) as if that is the latest in Git. My package overview where the problem is visible at https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=gusnan%40debian.org I can see other packages that have experimental packaging in the debian/master branch not showing this as a problem, or even those where the experimental branch is called simply experimental (and not debian/experimental) also not showing the version as problematic. DEP-14 mentions debian/experimental and debian/unstable, but it shouldn't be an error to use debian/experimental as branch name even if using debian/master, right? Please inform me if it is simply user error. -- Andreas Rönnquist gus...@debian.org
Bug#984895: unblock: geeqie/1.6-8
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock Please unblock package geeqie The version in unstable has a patch cherry-picked from upstream which fixes showing images when using wayland, which has been problematic before, and it hasn't worked with some combinations of wayland and libclutter. This fixes two bugs (#983207, #977189) with severity important (and I fully believe that more bugs would be reported on the package if the fix isn't included). The patch fixes showing only a white image on some setups (wayland), which before the patch needs a setting change, or cli option to fix. I'll ask there and see if anyone would have any objections to this removal. Anyway, my intention is to remove it from unstable. Reading the dev-reference I thought that I filed a bug for removal from unstable, and this would in its turn later affect the testing package. best /Andreas gus...@debian.org

This even happens when dm-tool list-seats shows active sessions. Unless I'm missing something, fast user switching is supposed to avoid this. Using Debian Jessie with XFCE and Gnome. I don't know much about user switching, but I really prefer to enter my password before someone switch to my user… I guess that Chris refers to the fact that if you are logged in, and want to switch to another user (that already is logged in), after locking the screen, and pressing New Login first you'll have to enter the users password in lightdm, and then when logged in the xscreensaver is automatically active, and you'll have to enter the same password there again for the screensaver. I have tried both switch-to-user, and switch-to-greeter, and have the same result in both cases. Bug#771702: xye: extra '/' in xye level locations
On Mon, 01 Dec 2014 13:56:46 -0500, BryanFRittbryanfr...@hotmail.com wrote: In Debian Testing Xye game locations have an extra '/' in the middle e.g. /usr/share/xye//levels/tutorials.xye instead of what it's supposed to be /usr/share/xye/levels/tutorials.xye Viewable from the 'Xye - Select a level file' screen - Location. This affects how levels progresses are saved old level progresses that are saved without the extra '/' aren't recognized as the same level new level progresses are saved with an extra '/' This could be corrected in such a way that level progress will be saved correctly? and if possible, The messed up ones automatically corrected, provided there's no conflicts(i.e. there's a level where progress is saved with the extra '/' and without the extra '/'), and if there is conflicts inform the user what they can do, or something like that. This didn't occur with Debian Stable. (for me at least) Thanks for your report - I can reproduce, and will make a fix that solves the problem when upgrading from wheezy to jessie. However, if it gets into the Jessie release is up to the release team. I am hesitant about increasing bug severity though, since it will only affect people who has in-progress games that has been saved in testing. -- Andreas Rönnquist mailingli...@gusnan.se gus...@gusnan.se -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#770098: Request for a debian-nordic mailing list
Hi! Please create a debian-nordic mailing list, for the Nordic Debian Community. At FSCONS 2014 in Göteborg, Sweden, almost a dozen Debian people attended the Debian room. During a few years and several other meetings, I have probed the interest for a nordic Debian community. There is definitively an interest, but there needs to be a communication channel. During the Debian Nordic meetup at FSCONS, I was assigned to request a mailing list for the Nordic Debian Community. Bug#749815: Package updated
Hi Andreas, I have two initial comments (Without having done an in-depth review): We could create an alioth project including a mailinglist, and use that mailinglist as maintainer, and put us all as uploaders. It might ease collaboration, if we just need one email to remember for maintenance questions. What do you think? (Also, I'd like to use my @debian.org email for package maintenance). I changed your mail address, however I'm not sure how to create an alioth group, maybe I need to be a DD for this? Feel free to do it, of course I prefer a lot this way :D (also for team uploads is better) Hmm, I am getting unsure - it seems like they don't want you to create an alioth project if you are only maintaining one package - see https://wiki.debian.org/Alioth/PackagingProject and https://wiki.debian.org/Alioth/FAQ#Will_you_accept_my_project_.3F https://wiki.debian.org/Alioth/FAQ#Do_I_need_an_Alioth_project_.3F - I have asked on the alioth IRC-channel, let's see what they say. BTW upstream changed the name in 1.6.9-oss, while I imported it as 1.6.9, do you think we should change the name accordingly (I mean debian/changelog)? Yeah, that sound like a good idea. -- Andreas Rönnquist gus...@gusnan.se -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? The debian/copyright still needs to be updated, but I'm pushing the changes to let you know the progresses I did and collaborate on the same repository. the copyright is up-to-date now. I also switched to autoreconf, waiting for a review :) I have two initial comments (Without having done an in-depth review): We could create an alioth project including a mailinglist, and use that mailinglist as maintainer, and put us all as uploaders. It might ease collaboration, if we just need one email to remember for maintenance questions. What do you think? (Also, I'd like to use my @debian.org email for package maintenance). You have removed a whole lot that has no use in the package such as embedded libraries (Which is good) - but you could have made an Files-Excluded-entry in the copyright for this. This would make those files be removed when using something like git-importorig --uscan also, automating the entire importing process and removing the need to remove files by hand. This also adds the benefit that you just need to add the files that are to be removed once, and simply update the list for each upstream release, if more unwanted files are added to the upstream tarball that we need to remove. See https://wiki.debian.org/UscanEnhancements for information on this. The wikipage mentions Problematic copyright, but this is of course useful in our case too. -- Andreas Rönnquist gus...@gusnan.se -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
