Bug#506656: krdc crashes very frequently
Package: krdc Version: 4:3.5.10-2 Hi, krdc crashes very often and writes : krdc: ../../src/xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy-request)) = 0)' failed. Bug#403776: kdm seems to violate FHS
ok I understand : it's coherent, it's just a strange and unpleasant behavior. Now, to test the effect of what you've just changed to the appearance, you have to restart kdm using /etc/init.d (and losing your session), starting a new session from the menu is not enough any more, very discouraging. But I still don't understand why you have to use the override file. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#403776: closed by Sune Vuorela [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Re: Bug#403776: kdm uses only theme)
Hi, I found this in /etc/init.d/kdm : KDMRC=/etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc BACKGROUNDRC=/etc/kde3/kdm/backgroundrc KDMOVERRIDEDIR=/etc/default/kdm.d KDMCFGDIR=/var/run/kdm KDMCFG=$KDMCFGDIR/kdmrc BACKGROUNDCFG=$KDMCFGDIR/backgroundrc This means the configuration files must be placed in /var/run/kdm (I tried and it worked as I wanted), I think this is a very bad thing according to http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3.html#VARRUNRUNTIMEVARIABLEDATA (which is supposed to be a kind of standard) Maybe there is a very good reason I ignore but else this seems grave ! -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#403776: kdm uses only theme
Package: kdm Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-3 Hi, I used customized greeter for kdm (background image, etc ..., configured from kcontrol), but after update of kdm and desktop-base (I don't know which is responsible), kdm uses a blue theme, ignoring what I did in kcontrol. I checked /etc/default/kdm.d/10_desktop-base which contained USETHEME=true . I replaced true by false but it still uses that blue theme. (I also returned in kcontrol and did apply again, even if it was still the old config) (sorry if it's a stupid bug report) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Just either purge desktop-base certainly not ! it contains other things or remove the 10_desktop-base configuraiton file. it doesn't change anything I noticed a kdm configuration file in /var/run/kdm/ which enables theme, I deleted it and retried, there is no more theme but not all of my options are taken into account. Bug#394147: message with strange characters
Package: gdm Version: 2.14.5-1 Hi, when I login with GDM and I'm already logged under GNOME, GDM asks me if I really want to open a new session. Now, it seems it tries to ask me, but the message is a sequence of rectangle characters (it seems to me that it uses characters I don't have). Bug#383701: Mice don't work anymore
Package: udev Version: 0.097-1 Severity: grave Hi, first, I'm not sure the bug comes from this package, because I updated both libhal1 and udev at the same time. When I rebooted (very few time later), Xorg complained with this : (EE) xf86OpenSerial: Cannot open device /dev/input/mice No such device. (EE) Configured Mouse: cannot open input device (EE) PreInit failed for input device Configured Mouse (II) UnloadModule: mouse (II) Synaptics touchpad driver version 0.14.6 (1406) Synaptics Touchpad no synaptics event device found (checked 14 nodes) Synaptics Touchpad The evdev kernel module seems to be missing (**) Option Device /dev/psaux (EE) xf86OpenSerial: Cannot open device /dev/psaux No such device. When I did `cat /dev/input/mice` it replied no such device. After reading other bug reports for udev, I tried `modprobe mousedev` and `modprobe usbmouse` (psmouse was loaded, but these 2 weren't ; I have an USB mouse and a synaptics thing), then Xorg started and both mice worked. But when I do `cat /dev/input/event*`, I get only no such devices. If you think it comes from libhal1, I can submit for it too. thanks -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#374959: can't start a new X session

Bug#374202: Apache Perl module can't be enabled (.pl files not executed)
Package: libapache2-mod-perl2 Version: 2.0.2-2 Hi, When I try to retrieve Perl scripts from Apache, Apache gives me the source (the scripts aren't executed). I saw in the /etc/apache2 2 directories : mods-enabled and mods-available, it seemed to me that one had to link mods-available/module-name.{conf,load} to mods-enabled (deducing after looking at a few). For PHP, there is a line in the .conf that says to associate .php with some mimetype that will be interpreted (I guess). But the perl.conf contains only : # This file is a placeholder; you can safely ignore or delete it. (without the quotes), and the .pl files aren't interpreted by perl. I don't think it should be the default behavior, so I report this as a bug. I'm a newbie with Perl, so I can't give you a fix, but I don't think it's very difficult though. thanks ! -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#358958:
There is an available package called libopenal0a that perhaps suits the scorched3d needs. If it does, the packagers should to edit the file control of the .deb , replacing the dependency. Or maybe create a pseudo-package or even a virtual package. Then we'll be able to install scorched3d.
