Bug#487714: qnapi: Defaults to non-English

The language of the GUI should be either Swedish (because that's the locale I have set) or English. Please note, that NapiProjekt (for which QNapi is a frontend -- www.napiprojekt.pl) is strictly Polish. You won't get Swedish subtitles there. In fact, you will get only Polish ones. That's what makes this package unusable for non-Polish speaking folks. I've spoken with upstream (before packaging QNapi) about writing QNapi in English, and then translating it (using Qt's i18n mechanism) to Polish, so it honors locales. But he decided, and I agreed, that it has no point, since it's unusable for anyone, that doesn't want to fetch Polish subs anyway. Therefore, I change severity to whishlist. I'll also ask upstream to give his opinion here. If he agrees, I'll close this bug. Hi I'm upstream author of QNapi and as Patryk said - for now there's no point in translating QNapi to other languages. But in future versions I'm going to add support for other subtitles engines (like OpenSubtitles.org) and then I'm sure that at least English translation will be available. If it's available in Polish only, and can fetch only Polish subtitles, it would be nice if the package description said so. So instead of... "Its purpose is to find and download subtitles for given video file." ... a better description would be... "Its purpose is to find and download Polish subtitles for given video file. " ... both in the long and short package description. Having the package description updated would be enough for me to consider this bug closed. Package: qnapi Version: 0.1.5-2 Severity: grave Tags: l10n Justification: renders package unusable Try this, running GNOME, with LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8: * Open the (foot) menu "Program" * Open the "Ljud och Video" (Audio and Video) category * Click QNapi Expected result: A GUI should appear. The language of the GUI should be either Swedish (because that's the locale I have set) or English. Current result: A Yes / No dialog box appears. It is in neither Swedish nor English (I'm guessing Polish). Severity Grave because the GUI is in a language most people don't speak, which for most users "makes the package in question unusable or mostly so" (quote from the definition of "grave" at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer.en.html#severities). Man page seems to be in the same language as the GUI, which makes the man page difficult as well.
