Bug#442158: libc6: *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev)
tags 442158 + moreinfo thanks Re: Aurelien Jarno 2007-11-16 [EMAIL PROTECTED] I was using mutt on my Inbox in a vserver on a Apple dual G5 Xserve running etch. When closing to save, i got the following error : *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev) This means mutt is trying to free a memory zone twice. Not a glibc bug, reassigning. Hi, can you provide more details, like a backtrace? I'm afraid we will have to close the bug otherwise. Christoph signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#451156: Cannot mount bind-mounts from /etc/fstab
Re: Bastian Kleineidam 2007-11-19 [EMAIL PROTECTED] you can enable debugging in pam_mount.conf.xml: debug enable=1 / Ah, that was too far at the other end of the file ;) Could you post the old working configuration? I am interested in this even if the patch below works since there could be a converter script error. Attached. The bind lines were commented out while I resurrected the system with this disk, before the upgrade to lenny (they used to work). About the conversion, I cannot say for sure, but the one remaining line (/dev/planck/cb /cb) at the time of the upgrade looks like it was correctly converted. Note that I have to use the target directory rather than the source device/directory from /etc/fstab in the path= tag because /cb won't work for obvious reasons. Please try the attached patch and use the following in /etc/security/pam_mount.conf.xml: volume user=myon path=/dev/planck/cb target=/srv/etch-i386/cb fstype=crypt / I first tried your patch with my existing config, debug log is attached. (Let me know if you also want the beginning.) Looks like the problem is use_fstab: 0. /cb /srv/sid-amd64/cb none defaults,bind,noauto,user 0 0 volume user=myon path=/srv/sid-amd64/cb / One possible fix could be to allow mountpoint in the config and leaving path out. (mount doesn't care much.) The config you proposed also fails. What does of course work is: volume user=myon path=/cb mountpoint=/srv/sid-amd64/cb fstype=none options=bind / But I'd prefer refering to fstab entries :) Christoph -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://www.df7cb.de/ pam_mount.conf.old Description: application/trash pam_mount(rdconf2.c:208) checking sanity of volume record (/srv/sid-amd64/cb) pam_mount(pam_mount.c:532) about to perform mount operations pam_mount(mount.c:410) information for mount: pam_mount(mount.c:411) -- pam_mount(mount.c:412) (defined by globalconf) pam_mount(mount.c:413) user: myon pam_mount(mount.c:414) server: pam_mount(mount.c:415) volume:/srv/sid-amd64/cb pam_mount(mount.c:416) mountpoint: pam_mount(mount.c:417) options: pam_mount(mount.c:418) fs_key_cipher: pam_mount(mount.c:419) fs_key_path: pam_mount(mount.c:420) use_fstab: 0 pam_mount(mount.c:421) -- pam_mount(mount.c:175) can't get realpath of volume : No such file or directory pam_mount(mount.c:186) checking to see if /srv/sid-amd64/cb is already mounted at pam_mount(mount.c:497) creating mount point pam_mount(mount.c:505) tried to create but failed pam_mount(pam_mount.c:535) mount of /srv/sid-amd64/cb failed pam_mount(pam_mount.c:133) clean system authtok (0) pam_mount(misc.c:284) command: /usr/sbin/pmvarrun [-u] [myon] [-o] [1] pam_mount(misc.c:55) set_myuidpre: (uid=0, euid=0, gid=1000, egid=1000) pam_mount(misc.c:55) set_myuidpost: (uid=0, euid=0, gid=1000, egid=1000) pam_mount(pam_mount.c:424) pmvarrun says login count is 1 pam_mount(pam_mount.c:545) done opening session (ret=3) signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#311009: svnmailer: Please supply simple example file
Package: svnmailer Version: 1.0.0-1 Severity: wishlist Hi, I just tried to set up svnmailer. I didn't want any fancy features, I just wanted a working installation that I could fine-tune later. The documentation in /usr/share/doc/svnmailer/docs/ lacks a sample file that you can just put somewhere, insert your email address and be happy. In the end, I gave up and just took svn's commit-email.pl because that one is easy to set up. Bug#310590: aspell dictionaries depend on libaspell15 package name, that might change
Re: Agustin Martin in [EMAIL PROTECTED] Just to note that after Brian suggestion, one of the things that are waiting in dictionaries-common for sarge release is aspell-autobuidhash, allowing the binary hashes being built from dict postinst. This is still very experimental, and would require for dicts using it that not only libaspellxx is installed but also aspell-bin, but should make dependencies simpler for those dicts, since the dependency would be on aspell-bin, which is synced to the appropriate libaspellxx because it depends on it. This has the advantage that dicts will be arch: all packages, because endianess would be dealt with at hash building (our mirrors will be happy). The drawback is that aspell-bin is required, that more space is used in the system and that for slow systems the on-the-fly build might not be as fast as expected (aspell efficiency on this is much higher now, so this might no longer be a problem, but is still to be tested with aspell-0.60) Hi, the recently (6 weeks ago) added aspell-de-alt package builds the hashes in the postinst. The packaging was trivial, and since noone complained yet, I assume it works for users. (Of course I did extensive install/remove tests myself before uploading.) Bug#293261: qa.debian.org: package bugs should also be against the package itself
Re: Jeroen van Wolffelaar in [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wouldn't it be easier/cleaner to modify debbugs to show an additional category WNPP? Well, after a bit reflection, I think I'm against. Firstmost, because already now a lot of people don't seem to be able to get wnpp bugs right. Secondly, it isn't a bug in the package, it's meta-information (someone else needs to maintain it). As wnpp bugs are displayed in the PTS (packages.qa.d.o), I think there is already a page where to see this type of meta-package data, along with other stuff about a given package. Good argument. My patch fixed the problem with the new version of gpg (you already fixed it) and proposed some improvements: - removes the comments of the uid (usually they are quite boring, and do not mean anything since it is different for each uid) - if using $ gpg --list-sigs some_special_pattern | sigdot -a which is quite usefull to get a graph from special part of your keyring, it removes the uid from extern users (which is already done when you are not using the -a). I attach to this mail the reduced patch, please check it and include it if there is no problems. Re: To Steve Kowalik in [EMAIL PROTECTED] Are you able to send me a patch against the de.po file? I haven't looked yet into the .po file. If it's just the wrong charset or some weird characters, I can fix that. If it's something deeper like python unable to iconv the messages, then I can't. Let's hope it's the first case. Hi, I just checked the de.po file - it's correctly encoded in iso-8859-15 and labelled as such. I don't know python, but from which I saw in the source, it set the locale correctly. But then, the charset is apparently not converted in the gettext calls. I don't understand the code in mygettext.py, but it looks somehow overly complicated. Shouldn't it be enough to just call gettext() or _() after the setlocale()/bindtextdomain()/textdomain() calls? Re: Peter Samuelson in [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Package name: connect Version : 1.93 That's a terrible package name. What will the GNUSTEP people do if they ever want to package something that manages SMB client mounts? That's what upstream calls the program (actually connect.c), and package names are first-come first-serve. Nb, also have a look at 'corkscrew' (though it doesn't seem to support SOCKS). Re: Nicolas Boullis 2007-01-15 [EMAIL PROTECTED] The attached patch allows to set an alternate logfile that logtail tries to use as the old logfile if the inode has changed. It can be used as: logtail -f /var/log/syslog -a /var/log/syslog.1 It would be nice if the other filename could be figured out automatically, for example with logrotate's dateext or savelog's -d option, the filename is not predictable. Bug#438712: minimalist: The package description should use the pseudo-standard Homepage: trick
tags 438712 + wontfix thanks Hi Christian, Cc'ing -devel since I don't think there is a consensus about this issue. Re: Christian Perrier 2007-08-19 [EMAIL PROTECTED] This package's description mentions the upstream project web page. I suggest it uses the de facto standard of mentioning it (IIRC even mentioned in the Developer's Reference): Homepage: http://www.mml.org.ua/ (please note, and hopefully respect, the leading *double* space) While this is some kind of standard, it is only one of several. The other is what this package uses, namely the plain URL, and there are probably also packages that use 2 spaces without the Homepage: . Putting 2 spaces there is absolutely ugly, I'm never ever going to use that. The argument that it eases parsing doesn't really count, packages.debian.org will hilight any url in the description, so it doesn't need Homepage:. Please someone push forward the XB-Homepage: idea. Re: Vincent Fourmond 2007-07-23 [EMAIL PROTECTED] I use gtkfontsel - rather infrequently, I admit - and that's precisely the kind of software you're desperately looking for when doing various configurations, and whose need falls down afterwards. I would personally miss it if it weren't in Debian. Cool. Do you have any recommendations, or know some traps I should be wary of ? Hard work I should be looking forward to ;-) ? Not really. Most of the maintenance work is probably keeping the package alive as gtk-1.2 gets more and more deprecated. Christoph -- signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#277637: current state of sidebar-patch?
Re: dann frazier 2007-07-24 [EMAIL PROTECTED] I already do this for the sidebar patch anyway, so I don't mind doing an upload to experimental with it. I assume there are other features people would like to get in besides sidebar, so I suggest we setup a set of policies for working together. Here's a couple to give an idea of what I'm thinking... I not really aware of any other patch (besides sidebar) that people want and that is at the same time rejected upstream (or not already in the Debian package). I'd go with a mutt-sidebar package built from the same source. Of course building twice is somewhat scary, but it should definitely come from the same source, or else would result in lots of duplicated work. Along the same line, we should go for unstable, as experimental isn't really widely used, and the point of the new package is to be used, rather than tested. I have no idea why this was working in my local setup, but I could reproduce it when reinstalling the hobbit client. The problem was that HOBBITCLIENTHOME needs to be exported as you found. Additionally, the variables MACHINE and MACHINEDOTS were missing from the environment. Setting them in the init script fixed the issue. Bug#412512: gpg-key2ps does not handle unicode names
Re: Thijs Kinkhorst 2007-03-02 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thank you for your report. The problem is clear, but the solution isn't: PostScript does not include unicode-capable fonts by default, and can only handle 8 bit fonts. It's an old format from the time that unicode-issues were unfortunately not on the agenda. I am not aware of any straightforward solution to this. However, I'm of course open to a patch or a plan how to tackle this isse. I've just googled a bit and couldn't find any straightforward way to convert utf8 to something postscriptish. While we should probably recode the output anyway to latin1, that doesn't solve the problem for all other characters. (Maybe //translit is a worthwhile workaround...) I guess we should optionally output latex code with the proper encoding. (That would also ease solving the print photo ids problem in #316131). retitle 406509 RFA: irssi-scripts -- collection of scripts for irssi owner 406509 ! thanks Re: Florian Ernst 2007-01-11 [EMAIL PROTECTED] I request an adopter for the irssi-scripts package. Status: - upstream currently stalled, will soon start to update again - popcon reports 779 installations - easy packaging, but uses stupid ad-hoc patch system - dpatch/quilt'ify? As most of the past patches were by me, I'd be glad to take it. Christoph -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://www.df7cb.de/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#350595: gerris_0.6.0-3(m68k/unstable/vault13): FTBFS on m68k
Re: Brice Goglin 2007-01-10 [EMAIL PROTECTED] The following patch fixes the FTBFS on mips and should on m68k too. But, I don't have any m68k machine to test on. Note that I am actually not very familiar with fpu_control.h. But the comments near the #define's seem to indicate that this is the correct way to replace the generic _FPU_MASK_FOOs with mips and m68k specific _FPU_MASK_BARs. Hi, here's the diff for the NMU I'll upload in a minute to delayed/7. debdiff gerris_0.6.0-3.dsc /srv/pbuilder/result/gerris_0.6.0-3.1.dsc src/init.c |9 - debian/changelog | 12 2 files changed, 20 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff -u gerris-0.6.0/src/init.c gerris-0.6.0/src/init.c --- gerris-0.6.0/src/init.c +++ gerris-0.6.0/src/init.c @@ -23,7 +23,14 @@ # include fpu_control.h # ifdef _FPU_IEEE static fpu_control_t fpu_trap_exceptions = - _FPU_IEEE ~(_FPU_MASK_ZM /*| _FPU_MASK_IM | _FPU_MASK_OM*/); + _FPU_IEEE +# ifdef __mc68000__ + ~(__FPU_MASK_DZ /*| _FPU_MASK_OPERR | _FPU_MASK_OVFL*/); +# elif defined(__mips__) + ~(_FPU_MASK_Z /*| _FPU_MASK_V | _FPU_MASK_O*/); +# else + ~(_FPU_MASK_ZM /*| _FPU_MASK_IM | _FPU_MASK_OM*/); +# endif # endif /* _FPU_IEEE */ #endif /* HAVE_FPU_CONTROL_H */ diff -u gerris-0.6.0/debian/changelog gerris-0.6.0/debian/changelog --- gerris-0.6.0/debian/changelog +++ gerris-0.6.0/debian/changelog @@ -1,3 +1,15 @@ +gerris (0.6.0-3.1) unstable; urgency=low + + [ Brice Goglin ] + * Non-maintainer upload. + * Add a wrapper for fpu_control.h's difference on mips and m68k, +closes: #350595. + + [ Christoph Berg ] + * Rebuilding also fixes the libgts dependency, closes: #374023. + + -- Christoph Berg [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri, 12 Jan 2007 00:26:10 +0100 + gerris (0.6.0-3) unstable; urgency=low * NMU Christoph -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://www.df7cb.de/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature
