Title: Message Ok, so according to my service agreement, I can download 3.11 (finally found where to download it). The software seems to have an exe set up file. I do NOT want to overwrite my current global config, I want to just get the new one and add some of the newer tests to it. Is there a way to do this? I really liked the old way where you could download everything separately. These automated setups scare me when upgrading, rather than installing fresh. Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Newest version
Sharyn I'm not sure what version of declude you are running, I'm on the latest release here. I'd suggest getting a trial version of sniffer and seeing what that does for you. I had instant luck with it. I run sniffer, and INVul (I'm on the road and cant remember how to spell that) It's a geat combo with declude. I've found declude alone is not up to the current spam enviroment. Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Newest version
Sharyn, I am running the latest versions and have not been having any major issues with it. The Decludeproc does crash on average 1-2 times per day for me, but it restarts itself. I have the AutoReview option set to on which moves the files placed on subsequent decludeproc restarts back into the proc directory for processing. While this may open you up to a message that constantly kills the decludeproc its not that bad of an issue since I use QueueMon to monitor the decludeproc and spool folders in the event of a backup. I have not ran into any upgrade versions - it will continue to use your old config files. Depending on how old your declude version is you may or may not have to create a declude.cfg file and populate it with the correct data. There have been a few new tests that have been introduced in the new versions, but on my systems they are not real powerhouse tests. The nicest test I think for the new versions is the msgsize test I use for counterweighting. If your looking to catch more spam the first thing I would do is [1] Review your global.cfg to see exactly what tests you are using. Maybe your missing some effective RBL's. [2] Implement a content filtering tool like Sniffer / invURIBL those will give you the best bang for the buck. [3] Make sure your DNS servers are responding well - I have seen instances where other folks I consult with had unknown DNS server issues which caused a sig. rise in spam coming through.
