[Bug 204202] Re: gnome-terminal ignores current keyboard layout for ctrl+key shortcuts
Bug #487604 says that the bug doesn't come from gnome-terminal but from GTK+2 and states that this bug entry is erroneous. Yet Ctrl+[key] mappings work as expected in most GTK+2 applications. This bug seems to come from VTE instead, as in bug #307888 I made some tests with several applications other than gnome-terminal : - uxterm: when switching keyboard layout, Ctrl+[key] mappings are correct, they follow the current layout. Is not using VTE - konsole: same as uxterm, correct behavior. Is not using VTE. - xfce4-terminal: incorrect behavior, same as gnome-terminal. Is using VTE. - lxterminal : incorrect behavior, same as gnome-terminal and xfce4-terminal. Is using VTE. So we can see that the problem relates to libvte instead of gnome- terminal, as it is present in all applications using libvte. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #589557 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=589557 ** Also affects: vte via https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=589557 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- gnome-terminal ignores current keyboard layout for ctrl+key shortcuts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204202 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 626661] [NEW] Totem movie play opens, but won't play anything
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem I have an external DVD player that I hooked up to my computer one day to play with Totem Movie Player. Well, the DVD had trouble loading and now my Totem Movie Player doesn't recognize the external DVD player nor will it play anything at all. I have tried reinstalling it but the reinstall process fails every time. When I open the program the Movie Player opens up but if I try to launch anything it reads Error stating file '/media/24302/VIDEO_TS': No such file or directory, stating that The Folder Contents Could Not Be Displayed. I don't know what or how this happened so I tried installing another program, Kaffeine, and it will not work either. If I could get some help on this it would be much appreciated. Thanks. [Bug 310000] Re: Keyboard shortcuts don't stick with multiple keymappings
I disagree, for what it's worth. In #204202, the problem is with in- program shortcuts (ctrl+z to suspend current job in Terminal) working in an unexpected way while here we are dealing with desktop shortcuts (super+t to launch Terminal) not working. Perhaps the cause is the same or close enough, but wouldn't the symptoms have to be more similar in order to really call the bug reports duplicates? [Bug 621795] Re: rhythmbox/totem crash when scrolling over volume button. seems random.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 626742] [NEW] right-click on animated GIF causes GUI to hang
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Gnome 2.30.2 Nautilus 2.30.1 Right-click on an animated GIF file brings up the usual file manipulation menu. I would expect to be able to select a Rename or Move to Deleted Items immediately. Instead, the whole user interface (all windows) hangs. The more basic images there are within the animated GIF, the longer the duration of the hanging. The pause is noticeable with 4 images inside the file; with 72 images, the delay is over a minute. The context menu appears immediately the right click is made, and remains on the screen, but nothing will respond. There are signs of considerable hard disc activity. This effect happens only on the first such access of a particular file during the Nautilus session -- subsequent right clicks on the same file during the session give an instant reaction with no hanging/freezing of the screen. [Bug 589899] Re: If both top and bottom panels are set to top then post upgrade to lucid gnome-panel hangs
I upgraded again from 9.10 to 10.4.1 yesterday, since I coudn't see the bug on my notebook a week before. But it is still there! I changed orientation to the bottom on the shell in ~/.gconf/apps/panel/toplevels/panel_0/%gconf.xml and could log in again. After putting it back to the top, login was broken again. After adding a new panel to the top and moving the applets to it, then removing the old panel, alle works ok and I can login again with two panels at the top. Unfortunately I have only be able to reproduce this bug once on a seperate demo account: I switched bottom panel to the top. All worked great. Next I switched to human skin and no desktop effects. Then I was not able to login at the demo account! As said, unfortunately I have only been able to reproduce this once, yesterday. If anyone is seriously interested in debugging this issue, I can send him my buggy .gconf directory from a backup of mine. -- If both top and bottom panels are set to top then post upgrade to lucid gnome-panel hangs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589899 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 626826] [NEW] Nautilus NETBIOS share resolving
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Nautilus currently requires that the NETBIOS name of the computer be resolved before it displays the computer.
