On 06/01/2011 03:30 AM, jay armstrong wrote: The app, Tangerine, consistently causes this and is listed as unknown. Uninstalling it solves the problem, whether I've started firefox or not. Removing tangerine from the gnome 'Startup Applications' list sovled the issue indeed. Note that for one user, the 'tangerine' entry had already been disabled (unchecked) _but_ I had to remove an entry listed as 'Unknown Program' (or 'Unknown Application' ... don't remember sorry) as well. Inspecting the details of that entry (by clicking the Edit button) showed that it was linked to the tangerine executable as well! Thanks, Jay, this helps a lot. [Bug 410636] Re: Right-click should not pre-light first option, too easy to accidentally select the first Context-menu option.
I had similar symptoms to the ones mentioned above. A single click worked like two very quick single clicks (and not a double click). This was of course not showing up on my other Linux Laptop or when used with any other OS. In the end it turned out to be because of having both an external USB mouse and my laptop touchpad enabled simultaneously. When I used my laptop's Fn+Disable Touchpad key to disable touchpad, the issue goes away and i can use the USB mouse ok. FWIW: Sean Fenton's advice about disabling sync_to_vblank in gconf- editor seems to have done the trick: I just left my laptop on overnight with Transmission running (which was a recipe to activate the bug) and it came back no problem. [Bug 432882] Re: Python binding for gnomekeyring prevents password prompt on unlock
Still a problem in 10.10. I'm writing a helper script that integrates offlineimap and notmuch mail. Have to fire up Seahorse and manually unlock the keyring before I run the script. Would be nice if I could just display a notification via the Gnome Keyring daemon. I also agree that this is a security issue, having the application pop up it's own prompt for your keyring password defeats the whole purpose of using Gnome Keyring. The purpose of Gnome Keyring, much like PAM - is to abstract away authentication from the desktop application itself. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-python-desktop in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432882 Title: Python binding for gnomekeyring prevents password prompt on unlock -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal I've noticed that terminal windows often get themselves into a state where the cursor block is flashing even when they don't have focus. [Bug 464535] Re: Battery monitor on tray says Laptop battery is fully charged all the time
I have this problem on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on a HP DV3500 laptop. The battery state is always on AC power if the laptop is booted on battery. If the laptop is booted on AC power and then the power cable removed, the battery state is fixed and it correctly shows the battery discharging. This problem is unfortunate as it affects the rest of my power settings, for example the screen brightness does not go down when on battery and the laptop does not sleep when on battery as it always believes it is on AC power. (I have set it to never sleep when on AC power). It also means when battery reaches critical the machine pops off, instead of gracefully shutting down. Any fixes workarounds please? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/464535 Title: Battery monitor on tray says Laptop battery is fully charged all the time -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected.
