[Desktop-packages] [Bug 881890] Re: the average rating problem
So, thanks for the suggestion, but I'm marking this as Won't Fix for the reason I alluded to in my previous comment. We plan to order items by number of users in a Most Downloaded section, because two distinct ways of exposing interesting things is better than one. Once we do that, Making Top Rated partly dependent on the number of users would make the two sections unnecessarily similar. And the perfect is not the enemy of the good here, because the hard part -- knowing the relative popularity of each item -- would be the same level of difficulty for either solution. ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to software-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/881890 Title: the average rating problem Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: steps to reproduce: 1. launch Ubuntu Software Store 2. by the right of Best Rated, there's a More button that shows you the top 50 Best Rated apps in Ubuntu Software Store expected results: since many people are interested in using Firefox and few people are interested in using Renmina, Firefox should appear above Renmina actual results: although many people are interested in using Firefox and few people are interested in using Renmina, Firefox appears *way* below Renmina, in other words, Firefox isn't even a top 50 app, but Renmina is a top 10 app comments: Firefox browses the internet well, Renmina connects to remote desktops excellently Firefox does what its author says that it does well, Renmina does what its author says that it does excellently quality shows you how well an app does what the app's author says that the app does many people are interested in using Firefox and few people are interested in using Renmina popularity shows you how many people are interesting in using an app if I create an app that does something that few people want to do, but my app does that thing excellently, it will be a top 10 app like Renmina is quality (stars) * popularity (users) = importance (points), anyone? As in #907644, if you add another file (or another instance of the same file) to the playlist and let it loop between the two, there's no problem. But with the single file repeating the bug is 100% reproducible. Not reproducible with VLC. Steps to reproduce: 1. Load an MP3 or MP4 in Totem. 2. Set 'Repeat Mode' on. 3. Let the file play through two rounds. What happens: At the end of second play, the playing stops and does not start again by itself. What I expect to happen: For the file to repeat ad infinitum. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 892727] Re: Ubuntu 11.10, very slow to register to a wireless network when using WPA
Hello @all, I confitm the bug. I have Thinkpad T43p running under Ubuntu 11.10 with GNOME 3, and I also get two windows asking for a WPA password when trying to connect to my home network. Can it be somehow related to the KeyRing-Manager (passwords' manager), which - as I read - has been changed in Gnome 3? Can it be, that user must activate his KeyRing to enable storing of password? Greetings from Hamburg, Andrey -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/892727 Title: Ubuntu 11.10, very slow to register to a wireless network when using WPA Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When connecting to a wireless network, in either Gnome 3 GUI or Ubuntu Unity, I have found that when connecting to a wireless network using WPA, the connections hangs, saying 'connecting' I am asked for the WPA password several times, in what appears to be in a gnome window followed by a unity ambiance window. In other words, a window pops up asking for a WPA password, followed by a second different window asking for the same thing. It has always been slow to connect, but since the addition of Gnome3 shell, it now asks twice. However, it will try to connect for about 5-10 mins. Once connected, it then works fine. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 921995] Re: lightdm doesn't start: Maximum number of clients reached
The problem seems be unity-greeter. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1871466 I had the same problem, and it was due to unity-greeter segfaulting (visible in /var/log/kern.log). I purged unity-greeter and installed lightdm-gtk-greeter, and modified /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf to use greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter. It works. ** Tags added: unity-greeter -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/921995 Title: lightdm doesn't start: Maximum number of clients reached Status in “unity-greeter” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I can't load the users login screen. lightdm seems have a problem because the screen is blinking continuously. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 921688] Re: Can't remove Last.fm radio
I am talking about the Last.fm playlists (radios that you can create by going into Library (left pane) Last.fm, enter some artist name in the Similar to Artist field and then click on Create Station. Then it adds a playlist/radio under Last.fm in the library pane but : - You can't right click on it. - Edit Remove is disabled - Backspace does nothing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/921688 Title: Can't remove Last.fm radio Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I can add Last.fm radios using the Last.fm plugin, but there is no way to remove them.
