[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1087920] Re: gimp crashes after save as
Hi, This might be a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/912909 . Could you try a couple of things? First, it would help to get a stack trace. Open a terminal and run gimp --stack-trace-mode always, try to save as and copy here the lines you get in the terminal. Second, look through the comments on the bug I have mentioned. Maybe a suggestion from there might fix your problem. I'm not sure this is still an issue. A / in the name of the file is interpreted as trying to save in a subfolder of the current location. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1052481] Re: Nautilus's split pane lacks an indicator for the active pane
What has to be done is simply adding something like: .nautilus-inactive-pane .view { background-color: shade (@bg_color, 0.8); } in the gtk-3.0/apps/nautilus.css file for the Ambiance theme. Varying the coefficient (0.8) will make it lighter/darker. Or we could use another color instead of the default bg_color. After doing some googling, it seems that the extra pane does not exist in Nautilus 3.6 (https://live.gnome.org/Nautilus/Roadmap/3.6 and there's also a discussion here http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/08/ubuntu-12-10 -may-ship-with-older-but-more-featured-nautilus). Probably this is why the styling was removed from Adwaita trunk. So, we should ask around if Ubuntu plans to stay with 3.4 for raring, otherwise this bug has no relevance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1052481 Title: Nautilus's split pane lacks an indicator for the active pane Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: Confirmed Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Test case: Open Nautilus on any folder. Subsequent attempts go directly to Authentication failed, and there is no apparent way to enter the password again. (I thought this was due to me logging in with a non-gmail address, and it seemed to work when I changed to the gmail one, but now it fails again) Further suggestions: 1) Shotwell should be more informative about the Authentication Failure, and report what exactly is wrong. I thought I had mistyped the password, and then it's frustrating not to be offered the opportunity to retype it. 2) The login dialog should offer a direct link or pointer to the accounts settings, now I need to select Add an account from the drop down. 3) Incidentally, removing accounts doesn't work, in the end I had to disable two (non-working) instances of Google account configurations. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 75654] Re: deleted songs listed again when using library watch
Karim, This is indeed another problem. Regarding avoiding missing entries, you can delete them from inside Rhythmbox (right click-Move To Trash). Rhythmbox settings are in ~/.local/share/rhythmbox . So I guess this directory should be deleted when you completely remove the package. If this does not happen, I'm not sure where the problem is - I assume it is a packaging problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/75654 Title: deleted songs listed again when using library watch Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: In Progress Status in The Rhythmbox Music Management Application: New Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Rhythmbox does not remember that I have removed (Edit - Remove) a track from the Library. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1076985] Re: Don't work in the menu the list
Hello, This seems like a problem with Unity, the Ubuntu window manager. Try reinstalling it. To do this: - Open a terminal: Dash - search for terminal - open Terminal - In the terminal window, run: sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop - You will be asked for your password. Restart after that. This will not delete any settings or personal data and maybe it will reset the indicator displays. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076985 Title: Don't work in the menu the list Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Don't work in the menu the list (in the right) where you can shut down the sistem, where there is the calendar ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-18.29-generic 3.5.7 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-18-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu6 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Fri Nov 9 13:56:39 2012 DistUpgraded: 2012-10-22 05:42:32,935 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: quantal DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: fglrx, 9.000, 3.2.0-33-generic, x86_64: installed fglrx, 9.000, 3.5.0-18-generic, x86_64: installed virtualbox-guest, 4.1.18, 3.2.0-33-generic, x86_64: installed virtualbox-guest, 4.1.18, 3.5.0-18-generic, x86_64: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, if not too technical GraphicsCard: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Cedar PRO [Radeon HD 5450/6350] [1002:68f9] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: PC Partner Limited Device [174b:e164] InstallationDate: Installed on 2011-03-19 (601 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release amd64 (20101007) JockeyStatus: kmod:fglrx - ATI Fire GL (Proprietary, Enabled, In use) kmod:fglrx_updates - Video driver for the AMD graphics accelerators (Proprietary, Disabled, Not in use) MachineType: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Are the rest of the indicators working ok (volume indicator, network connection indicator)? You could try to reinstall Unity: run in a terminal sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop . And restart after that. This will not delete any of your settings or personal data. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075739 Title: i dont know Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: i dont know ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-18.29-generic 3.5.7 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-18-generic i686 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu6 Architecture: i386 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CurrentDmesg: [ 22.001303] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready Date: Tue Nov 6 16:03:06 2012 DistUpgraded: 2012-11-06 10:48:15,758 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: quantal DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, if not too technical GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:a011] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:fdc0] Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:fdc0] InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-10-07 (30 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Release i386 (20120423) MachineType: TOSHIBA TOSHIBA NB505 MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: TERM=unknown PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.5.0-18-generic root=UUID=e9ba1516-e3b4-4193-adad-76d0f7f61791 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xorg UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to quantal on 2012-11-06 (0 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 06/02/2011 dmi.bios.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.bios.version: V1.90 dmi.board.name: PBU00 dmi.board.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.board.version: 1.00 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: * dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.chassis.version: N/A dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnTOSHIBA:bvrV1.90:bd06/02/2011:svnTOSHIBA:pnTOSHIBANB505:pvrPLL50U-01S008:rvnTOSHIBA:rnPBU00:rvr1.00:cvnTOSHIBA:ct10:cvrN/A: dmi.product.name: TOSHIBA NB505 dmi.product.version: PLL50U-01S008 dmi.sys.vendor: TOSHIBA version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.8.4+bzr3407-0ubuntu1 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.39-0ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 9.0-0ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 9.0-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.13.0-0ubuntu6 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.7.3-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.99.99~git20120913.8637f772-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.20.9-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.2-0ubuntu3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1075739/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I'm on Quantal (12.10). What I expected: If I lunch rhythmbox (2.97-1ubuntu6) from Dash, from Alt+F2, from terminal ecc it should show the main window. If i start it from the sound menu (by clicking the Play button, not the application name) it should start and start playing without showing me the main window. What I obtain: There's no actually a way to start rhythmbox minimized. In old versions there was an option --hide to launch it without showing the main window. In newer versions there should be a gsetting key that remember the last state (minimized, normal, maximized). In the last verion it's simply impossible to launch it minimized. Way to replicate this: Open rhythmbox, then closed it (Ctrl+Q), then push Play in sound Menu. It does not start playing and, instead show the main window. The errors make sense if I look at the file: match target=pattern test name=family stringAharoni/string stringGuttman Aharoni/string stringGuttman-Aharoni/string /test edit mode=append binding=same name=family stringAharoni CLM/string /edit /match i.e. there are indeed multiple values inside the test tag. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 811475 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/811475 ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 811475 Descender letters (g j p q y) get their tail cut off in current song -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1063187 Title: rhythmbox fonts are not displayed correctly Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Using Rhythmbox on 12.04 with the default system fonts certain words do not display correctly. Please see attached screenshot, particularly the 'by Hugh...' element, the 'y' and the 'g' have the lower elements of the glyphs truncated. You can clearly see that the 'g' almost resembles a lower case 'a' due to the truncation issue. I simply thought that the meta-data was input wrong, but the 'by' also has the 'y' looking almost 'v' shaped. Possibly to do with gtk widget re-sizing, but I'm just taking a wild stab in the dark.
