did you look at the location above to find what the error is? The log
suggests its related to ssl. I haven't build the master build in a
while but I will probably this afternoon. I don't know of any
prerequisites for building it.

effort and test today.
My last tests failed both in Basic and Adv zone, with or without

1) Load balancing rule is now applied to only one VM and not the other VM for

state, we should wait for the network state to become Allocated. Added check

Actually i tried couple of times after the error and it persisted. On the same 
machine building 4.2 latest works fine, I assume( didnt verified ) these 
tests are also part of that branch as well. Going by the error message it seems 
that there is no route to connect some thing. Seeing the test code, it seems 
connect operation is failing or  server.getAddress() is returning none.

I have some iptables rules configured, is that the issue? I will stop this 
service totally and run one more time.

Yes that's an issue with cloudstack, because the broadcast domain type is
native and not VLAN.
So in my case I created a vlan interface on the hypervisor and put a
bridge, just for storage on top.
That way I can use different interfaces for the storage network in case I
want to.

If you have time, you could looks at issues.apache.org if there is already
a feature request existing and file a ticket if you like

Defect 5393 [1]  is not reproducible in 4.3 so that got closed. Can you open a 
new one for 4.2.1 with exact problem you are having.  Also looks slightly 
different from 5393 issue. 
Running KVM with a GlusterFS shared mount point on cloudstack-4.2-223b272, 
snapshots consistently fail to be backed up. They get stuck in 
CreatedOnPrimary status. 

If you do not have any objection can we have a GTM to resolve it. I can invite 
Suresh also for this call as he has tried it both on 4.3 and latest 4.2.1.  
There is a request to try on 4.3 RC3 candidate drop as well. Will wait for his 
response before the call.

I remember taking snapshots (backups) with previous versions of 4.x and 
I never used CLVM, perhaps it was local storage, need to re-check.

So is that the only way to migrate a ROOT volume i.e. only as part of vm 
migrate ?
 In case of datadisk I can migrate it via Storage-Volume-Migrate, which I 
don't see happening with ROOT volume. 
As detach operation is not shown for ROOT volume.

networks and isolation/broadcast

  I ran into an issue today that I'm still trying to wrap my head
around, and I wanted to bounce this off of you guys. I have a physical
network whose isolation method is set to 'VXLAN' (v4.3+). I add my
Public traffic type to it. I'd assume that nics generated for public
traffic would have the standard vxlan://  URI for  isolation URI and
broadcast URI, but they just have a vlan://. Digging into it, it seems
that public traffic is hard-coded to BroadcastDomainType.Vlan. I fixed
this fairly easily for my testing, there were only a few places to
fix, by pulling the BroadcastDomainType from the network object rather
than hardcoding it, but that found another problem. This only works if
I change the broadcast type in the 'networks' mysql table by hand, as
during zone deployment the public network creation is also hard-coded
to vlan.

  I'm not sure how to go about fixing this, since the Public, Control,
Management networks are created upon zone deployment, (see
createDefaultSystemNetworks). The immediate thing that jumped out was
a config variable for public isolation method, set prior to zone
deployment, or perhaps even one that overrides what's in the table.

  While I've got your attention, what's the deal with isolation method
vs broadcast method? These are always set to the same thing as far as
I've seen.

I suppose the answer might be to update the network with the proper
isolation method when the traffic type is added. Look up the physical
network's isolation method, grab network object for the public network, and
set the right isolation.
