Re: REMINDER: Project Stickers for Apachecon NA or EU

2019-08-13 Thread Elek, Marton
Can you please add Apache Hadoop Ozone (Hadoop is there, but this is a
new subproject with own logo).

Thanks a lot,

Hi Everyone

This is a reminder that I am putting the main sticker order together now with
the plan to get the order in progress by the weekend. So if you are coming to
Apachecon NA or EU and would like to see some of your project stickers there
then please let me know. And remember this covers podlings too.

Please check to see if your project is already on the Sticker list at
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/COMDEV/ApacheCon+NA+2019

and if not, then please either add it to the list on the wiki or respond to
this thread with the name of your project and I will add it.

Thanks
Sharan

Hey Sharan,

Could we use Daniel's version of the logo for Airflow stickers
http://www.apache.org/logos/loveapache/airflow.png? The one I shared
is pixelated, Daniel's is much better. Sorry for causing so many troubles..

Please see http://www.apache.org/logos/loveapache/airflow.png now. I
took the liberty of touching up the airflow logo, the colors needed a
bunch of work. The standard logo was also refreshed,

Hi Aizhamal

The Beam one is fine, and as Daniel says the Airflow one needs some work. It's
too small and looks odd, so if there is anything you can do there, that would
be good.

Saves to reporter now results in a POST to the board agenda, which notifies

There's an auto-generator that runs and spits out images at:
http://www.apache.org/logos/loveapache/

it uses the same defaults as the Powered-By generator, that is...if
there is an original called $project-pb.svg, it will use that one,
otherwise it will find the most round/square logo and use that.

it's currently running round one, images slowly coming up...
they're not the best fit for all projects, but it works for some :)

Re: REMINDER: Project Stickers for Apachecon NA or EU

2019-08-13 Thread Sharan Foga
Hi Julian

Edgent and IoTDB are already ordered. (The IoTDB is a very nice one, I chose
version 1)

And incubator stickers are part of our standard booth sticker package along
with the large and small feathers :-)

So I think the ASF booths might be very popular as we have a lots and lots of
stickers to give away. :-)

Thanks
Sharan

Hi Sharan,

I also posted already (I think) so I just want to ensure that Apache Edgent
(incubating) and Apache IoTDB (incubating) are on the list.
Especially IoTDB is important, as I'm lacking this sticker on my laptop : )
And if no one posted that already, I also love the incubator Stickers, they
should be at the booth too, or?

Thanks!

Re: REMINDER: Project Stickers for Apachecon NA or EU

2019-08-13 Thread Dmitriy Pavlov
Hi Sharan,

Can I ask you to include Apache Ignite stickers to the order?
http://apache.org/logos/#ignite
Talks related to Apache Ignite will be both at Apache Con NA (Denis Magda)
and Apache Con EU (Alexey Zinoviev).

Also, I participate in Apache Training (incubating)
http://apache.org/logos/?#training
This polding related talks will be held at least at Apache Con EU. So could
you please add it, as well?

Should I start 2 separate threads at Com.Dev list? Or is it enough to reply
in this email?

Sincerely,
Dmitriy Pavlov

Hi All

We still have a little time to put together a second order for stickers for the
ASF booth for Las Vegas and Berlin. I already have a couple of projects on the
second order so if you would like us to have some of your project stickers too
then please let me know and I will include it.

This includes incubating projects too so if you have never seen or had any
stickers available for your project then this is the time to request some!

Re: ACEU 19

2019-08-13 Thread Paul Berschick
Hi Pierre,

thanks for your offer to help! Julian has just drafted an invitation
email and sent it to comdev (now CC'd as well). I'll quickly paste it in
here, any feedback is appreciated:

Dear Apache Project PMC Members:

There will be space at ACEU 2019 dedicated to a hackathon. The space
will be available on 23./24.10 from the start of each day’s schedule
until 7:00 PM, with the possible exception of during keynote and
single-track / conference-wide events.

We want to invite everybody to participate on the Hackathon.
Collaborative development on project source code, improvements to
project documentation, and development of example apps or tools
built upon one or more Apache projects are all encouraged.
Furthermore, it's a nice opportunity to get in touch with other
contributors.

More details will be available leading up to the event, but here’s
generally what to expect:
- Dedicated space with chairs, power, wifi, snacks, and caffeine.
- Tables dedicated to specific participating projects.
- ‘Getting Started’ discussions for new and aspiring committers
- (industrial) IoT Corner with industrial equipment to code against

With most logistical concerns now attended to, we are identifying
interested participants, promoters, and coordinators. Are you an PMC
member or committer willing to do the following on behalf of your
project:
- Operate a dedicated hackathon table for some time
- Designate collaborative work for your project’s table to help
hackers focus
- Encourage your community to hack at your project’s table
- Spread the word throughout your commuity!

Interested? Reply to plann...@apachecon.com to reserve a table for
some time for your project that we can advertise to your community.

We are currently working out a Hackathon schedule that will be
posted, letting attendees know when they should expect activities
related to their project and various open sessions to take place. If
you will take on the lead role for your project, we will work with
you to plan, prepare, and generate interest in the wider community.

If you aren’t interested in hacking yourself but want to help
others, we could also use persons who are willing to do one or more
of the following:
- Operate the primary information table in the hackathon space for
several hours
- Give a short introductory tools or skills presentation / answer
questions

Thanks!
ACEU Hackathon Organization Team

P.S. We invite anyone who has ideas to share with the planning
committee, or is considering participating in any way, to let us
know via dev@community.apache.org

I'm sure there will be plenty more to do in order to prepare the
hackathon and we will gladly get back to you :)
Thank you very much!

Best,
Paul

example apps or tools built upon one or more Apache projects are all
encouraged.

Are you an
PMC member or committer willing to do the following on behalf of
your project:

- Operate a dedicated hackathon table for some time
- Designate collaborative work for your project’s table to help hackers
focus
- Encourage your community to hack at your project’s table
- Spread the word throughout your commuity!

Interested? Reply to plann...@apachecon.com to reserve a table for some time
for your project that we can advertise to your community.

We are currently working out a Hackathon schedule that will be posted,
letting attendees know when they should expect activities related to
their project and various open sessions to take place. If you will
take on the lead role for your project, we will work with you to plan,
prepare, and generate interest in the wider community.

If you aren’t interested in hacking yourself but want to help others,
we could also use persons who are willing to do one or more of the
following:

- Operate the primary information table in the hackathon space for several
hours
- Give a short introductory tools or skills presentation / answer questions

Thanks!

P.S. We invite anyone who has ideas to share with the planning
committee, or is considering participating in any way, to let us know

Hey everyone,

Seems like we already have a lot of interest for organizing a hackathon
in Berlin :)

Do we have time slots already allocated in the schedule or is that still
to be determined?

How far are we with the announcement for the PMCs?

Cheers,
Max

Hi Julian,

I think I have most of the information you need – just let me know what
you need to know. You can also prepare an email with spaces and I'll
fill it out.

I thought I've sent some information on that to this list yesterday?
Didn't my mail reach you?

In any case: If you need any support, don't hesitate to ask :)

best,
Paul

Re: Volunteers wanted: Hackathon organization at ApacheCon Berlin 2019

2019-08-13 Thread Julian Feinauer
Hi all,

I'm currently drafting the ANNOUNCE mail (based on Steves mail of ACNA).
Where do I find informations like.. location... times... whatever we provide...
something? __
If I don’t find these informations than I just prepate it with empty spaces for
somebody (Myrle?) to fill it in and send it out.
