New Maven targets (was: Re: Time for a release?)
Le 21/01/2012 16:42, sebb a ecrit : If you want to try out the Maven targets, update workspace and build (ant package) Then create the poms/jars: ant _maven_dist -Djmeter.version=2.6-SNAPSHOT [might add this to the distribution target later] Then ant maven_upload will create the a local repo under target/deploy. If that works OK, then it is picking up Maven. You can then try uploading to the snapshots repo: ant maven_upload -DrepoType=snapshots I'm still working on the Maven bits, so the instructions may need to change slightly. It's works. Re: Time for a release?
Hello All, +1 for me. I vote for a 2.6 looking at number of Improvements done. I think there is still one issue in progress 52131https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52131(not sure it cannot wait). On my side no issue in progress. Regards Philippe On Sun, Jan 15, 2012 at 1:58 PM, Rainer Jung rainer.j...@kippdata.dewrote: Hello everyone, at the beginning of December 2011 we discussed, whether we should have a release soon. I think the overall opinion was yes but it seems the project is still busy with fixing things and adding enhancements. Nevertheless I have the impression there are now enough changes to warrant the next release and get all the nice new stuff out in users hands. I don't know whether it should be a 2.5.2 or 2.6 though. Kudos to all the effort you put into JMeter! Regards, Rainer -- Cordialement. Philippe Mouawad.

Re: Time for a release?
Hello Sebb, Did you have time to look at 52466https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52466? Is this feature abandonned ? or restricted to Class renaming (without properties ) which makes it less useful no ? If it can/should be fixed then 52048https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52048could be fixed as well (although it's not very useful I agree, but as 90% of job was done...), otherwise I will close 52048https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52048as won't fix. What's your opinion ? The release notes will be a new xdocs files? with some screen-shots for graphical improvements? Release Notes are normally text-only. Ok, you want use release notes directly in email announcements and website? However, we can add screeenshots to the changes.xml as far as I know (have not tried). I can prepare a first version and put on svn if your are ok. I suggest adding a description of a single feature (to changes.xml) with one or two screenshots so we can see how it looks. Ok, I will works on changes.xml to add descriptions and optional screenshots. Presumably the screenshots can be existing shots. If new shots are needed for changes, then probably the existing docs need to be updated too. Not always. A screenshot can be a part of JMeter main window, example a focus to a new button / field to a sampler. The existing docs have the full screenshot of sampler.
