Very, very happy. Future updates should be much easier. I will follow up with

1. The Italian Forum has a weird display issues. I think that a post will need

2. We need to find forum administrators to replace imacat for each forum.
3. I will need to document the process, customizations and migration steps.

But I’ll need a few days away.

Re: [DISCUSS] 4.1.10 Security Warning (resolved fixed BZ Issue 128451)

2021-05-04 Thread David Robley

The error message reported was
"This hyperlink is going to open “.uno:Reload”. Do you want to proceed?"

Which seems a little uninformative, or cryptic to the casual user.

This is the kind of _question_ one would expect from users.

So I have a few questions:

- is / will ever be there a way to switch off this message? (at one's own
risk...)
- is there a need to amend the 4.1.10 Release Notes?
(maybe additional information e.g. in the "Security" section)
- should contextual Help topic "Security Warning" be amended?
   (it deals with macro security)

Have you Java installed?
Yes - but I hadn't added it to AOO; I did that in the working version,
then uninstalled again, completely wiping anything under
/opt/openoffice4 and re-installed. Now I get a different dialog box error:

The application cannot be started.
loading component library failed:
file:///opt/openoffice4/program/../program/expwrap.uno.so

How did you delete the profile?

Simply by renaming ~/.openoffice/4/user

If the base directory still exist it might be problematic. I am not sure.
As I mentioned above, the base directory /opt/openoffice4 was empty. I
failed to mention that I use the Slackware package to remove the old
version before installing the new.

We do get occasional problems on the EN forum where a stray trailing non
printing character causes unexpected problems with some formulae. I
don't know how much of an issue it would be to add this, but if it is
comparatively simple I'd support it; as I suspect would a few others who
spend time on the forum.
