Currenttly on WinNT4.0 it does not.
By the way I suspect it could do it on w2000, I put it yesterday.
I'll have feedback in few days, and let you know.

Re: gsm-modem -AT+ CNMI / no confirmation back to SMSC?

2001-10-03 Thread jakob . gaardsted

Hi. This actually works, thank you !
(The sender now gets a 'message delivered' instead of
'problem with receiving device' message).

They (kannel and the modem) sure do talk a lot, though.

But, I'm curious: This workaround, is it generally needed
because of a problem with falcom, or is it temporary because
something else needs to be fixed ?
   I don't see a performance problem in polling a gsm_modem
(it doesn't get messages that quick anyway), but
I wish the kannel.log didn't grow when there is no traffic...

Also, I'm still curious about the return codes...

Hi all
I've seen that it is possible to have the following configuration:

 app ---> kannel > SMSC: HTTP (type-Kannel) ---> kannel ---> SMSC:
EMI2
  ^client^server

Is it possible to achieve this conf ?

app ---> kannel ---> kannel (or other WapGW) connectionless or
connection oriented ---> WAPSite

My will is to achieve a WSP proxy like configuration with the kannel wap gw.
I currently doing this with a big hack in 1.0.1 code but iwould like to know
if it is doable only with configuration, or if someone else has tryed to
achieve this kind of config.

Thanks to all answers

WSP is WAP, the above message was talking about SMS not wap. I dont
see why you want to do a proxy on a WSP level. Bearerbox does that
for you when being remote to Wapbox. Furthermore Wapbox supports
HTTP proxies since a long while.

i got to keep my openwave in place, and the only place i can put some boxes

If you are talking about my patches I sent the list, then
a] This work around is for all modems. It uses modem memory for reception
of SMSs and uses direct SMS sending to send SMSs. It tends to be more
reliable.
b] Andreas Fink has written the AT2 driver which uses SMS version two and
has a few advantages because of that. I suggest he re-writes the list on
how to set up that driver so we can all help debug it with him.
c] I will have new patches as of tomorrow which fix a few more bugs and
yeild the original AT driver even better then my last patches. The only
way to loose SMSs is by sending and failing to send 4 times, as per the
RETRIES variable, set in the smsc_at.c file.

d] I require a nominee before I can patch the CVS tree ... would
you / someone mind nominating me ?

e] The new patches will stop the kannel log from growing when there are no
incvoming / outgoing SMSs ... this was originally for debugging.

Re: HTTP SMSC

2001-10-03 Thread Aarno Syvänen

Hi List,

it seems that my push setup does not fit in the userguide - it is about more
genaral things.
It has following components:

PI  --->  PPG ---> SENDSMS --->SPOOLER--->CONTENT GATEWAY

So PPG does not speak even with a content gateway. This is because it was
decided that
push messages must go through the spooler.

To make this work, I only needed to configure a http smsc with
send-url=sendsms-url.
This sendsms script is the same I used for testing the phones. (I send a
manually written
tokenized SI document as data message using this service.) So the jump to a
full push
is really small.

Another thing: When I said that PPG works only with HTTP SMSC, I meant that
I have
tested only HTPP SMSC. There is no reason why other SMSCs should not work,
though it is probably better to start testing with a SMSC simulation.

Why is it that bad to have at3 ?
Current AT module is buggy but it works, AT2 is worse cause sometimes my
Siemens M20T just stop receiving any messages under it.
I think adding AT3 till we get the perfect one is a good idea.
I am willing to test the new At module which saves messages into a sim card.
Thanks.

and what about the failed assertions that crash smsbox and then bearerbox after

This is definitly some kind of buggy.

I've never seen a crash in smsbox because of this. SMSbox is
unchanged as far as DLR's are concerned. If you got an assert, in
your case, thats normal because your EMI reply is not what bearerbox
would expect. Of course this should be fixed and is relatively easy
to fix. But it also means that in your case DLR's will not work
because no timestamp imformation is given back from the SMSC.

Quite frankly, the current AT module is so buggy it is not even worth
thinking about using. I believe that if people want an AT module which
works in a similar way to the original but works, then they should switch
to the AT2 module it was alot more reliable then the original AT
module and that was weeks ago - by now it must be even better !

I'm still using the AT module (with a nokiaphone) because I have the

My logo is divided into 2 sms. The first one is sent correctly but the

With the AT module, it's working fine... I have no idea where it could come
