Re: gsm-modem -AT+ CNMI / no confirmation back to SMSC?
Hi. This actually works, thank you ! (The sender now gets a 'message delivered' instead of 'problem with receiving device' message). They (kannel and the modem) sure do talk a lot, though. But, I'm curious: This workaround, is it generally needed because of a problem with falcom, or is it temporary because something else needs to be fixed ? I don't see a performance problem in polling a gsm_modem (it doesn't get messages that quick anyway), but I wish the kannel.log didn't grow when there is no traffic... Also, I'm still curious about the return codes...
RE: kannel to kannel connection
Hi all I've seen that it is possible to have the following configuration: app ---> kannel > SMSC: HTTP (type-Kannel) ---> kannel ---> SMSC: EMI2 ^client^server Is it possible to achieve this conf ? app ---> kannel ---> kannel (or other WapGW) connectionless or connection oriented ---> WAPSite My will is to achieve a WSP proxy like configuration with the kannel wap gw. I currently doing this with a big hack in 1.0.1 code but iwould like to know if it is doable only with configuration, or if someone else has tryed to achieve this kind of config. Re: HTTP SMSC
Hi List, it seems that my push setup does not fit in the userguide - it is about more genaral things. It has following components: PI ---> PPG ---> SENDSMS --->SPOOLER--->CONTENT GATEWAY So PPG does not speak even with a content gateway. This is because it was decided that push messages must go through the spooler. To make this work, I only needed to configure a http smsc with send-url=sendsms-url. This sendsms script is the same I used for testing the phones. (I send a manually written tokenized SI document as data message using this service.) So the jump to a full push is really small. Another thing: When I said that PPG works only with HTTP SMSC, I meant that I have tested only HTPP SMSC. There is no reason why other SMSCs should not work, though it is probably better to start testing with a SMSC simulation. Re: gsm-modem -AT+ CNMI / no confirmation back to SMSC?
Matt, I would like you to patch the at code and let at2 code from Andreas Fink. By the way maybe someone won't agree with this, but having an at3 is not so good. Anybody using at currently has any comments? Andrea
Re: gsm-modem -AT+ CNMI / no confirmation back to SMSC?
Why is it that bad to have at3 ? Current AT module is buggy but it works, AT2 is worse cause sometimes my Siemens M20T just stop receiving any messages under it. I think adding AT3 till we get the perfect one is a good idea. I am willing to test the new At module which saves messages into a sim card. Thanks.
Re: gsm-modem -AT+ CNMI / no confirmation back to SMSC?
Ok then Matt, at3 seems the best solution. SMSbox is unchanged as far as DLR's are concerned. If you got an assert, in your case, thats normal because your EMI reply is not what bearerbox would expect. Of course this should be fixed and is relatively easy to fix. But it also means that in your case DLR's will not work because no timestamp imformation is given back from the SMSC. -- Andreas Fink Fink-Consulting -- Tel: +41-61-6932730 Fax: +41-61-6932729 Mobile: +41-79-2457333 Address: A. Quite frankly, the current AT module is so buggy it is not even worth thinking about using. RE: gsm-modem -AT+ CNMI / no confirmation back to SMSC?
I'm still using the AT module (with a nokiaphone) because I have the following problem when I want to send an operator logo with the AT2 module : My logo is divided into 2 sms. The first one is sent correctly but the second always fails (status FAILED in the logs). With the AT module, it's working fine... I have no idea where it could come fom.
