Thanks Igor. Using your suggestion help building the embree package now
submitted for review

Upstream does not support x86 architecture hence the use of
ExclusiveArch unless there is another
alternative.

There's a separate natural scrolling setting for mouse and touchpad. Did
you change the right one?

 drupal7-context-3.7-1.el7 (FEDORA-EPEL-2016-3ec530658a)
Allows contextual conditions and reactions management

Update Information:

Context allows you to manage contextual conditions and reactions for different
portions of your site. You can think of each context as representing a "section"
of your site. For each context, you can choose the conditions that trigger this
context to be active and choose different aspects of Drupal that should react to
this active context. Think of conditions as a set of rules that are checked
during page load to see what context is active. Any reactions that are
associated with active contexts are then fired.

 drupal7-date-2.10-0.1.rc1.el7 (FEDORA-EPEL-2016-9149366cda)
 Makes date/time fields available

Update Information:

This package contains both a flexible date/time field type Date field and a Date
API that other modules can use. The D5 and D6 versions of the Date field
require the Content Construction Kit (CCK) module [1]. The D7 version works with
the core Field functionality. D8 includes Date in core. The Drupal Handbook
pages are at Date/Calendar Documentation [2]. [1] http://drupal.org/project/cck

 drupal7-date_ical-3.9-1.el7 (FEDORA-EPEL-2016-3695fc0415)
 Enables import/export of iCal feeds

Update Information:

Date iCal is your one-stop shop for iCal support in Drupal. It provides a plugin
for Views to enable exporting your site's calendar as an iCal feed, and a plugin
for Feeds to enable importing external iCal feeds into your site's calendar.

Fedora IRC channels on FreeNode

2016-08-05 Thread Richard W.M. Jones

I might have imagined this, but I'm sure I read that the Fedora
Project reserves all/some #fedora-* channels on FreeNode.

Anyway if this is true, I'd like to request that the Fedora Project
reserves #fedora-riscv

The question is .. how?

Rich.

F24 mouse/touchpad natural scrolling

2016-08-05 Thread Roger Wells
Hello,

In the Mouse & Touchpad settings dialog where one can select/deselect
Natural Scrolling there is no difference between settings. The
view/window is moved around the contents, i.e. not "Natural Scrolling"

The machine is a Thinkpad x240, OS is F24, just upgraded from F23 a day
or so ago.

This setting worked as expected on F23

Actually, I just checked and none of the settings, "Mouse Speed",
"Primary Button" included has any effect.

I did set the speed to high on F23 and thought it worked. Never messed
with the "Primary Button" though.

uname -a: Linux rwells-x240 4.6.4-301.fc24.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Jul 12
11:50:00 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

TIA

You can configure which fedora-review checks are ran, for example
exclude any non-automated checks.

This won't work for all SIGs. For example, Java packages don't have any
common naming scheme. If you just search for "Java" in review requests,
almost all results will be false-positives (eg. from "JavaScript") and
you won't find most of relevant reviews this way.

I think that wiki page could work for this purpose.

Re: Redefinition of the primary and secondary architectures

On the subject of RISC-V, I'm still plugging away at this. It's

There is nothing much usable at the moment, and many stumbling blocks.

Yes, but this is an "experimental arch" and is completely out of scope
of this proposal.

True, but it does beg the question, how will future new arches (e.g.
riscv, or mips) be handled? Will koji-shadow still have a place in
that, and what criteria will be established for merging into primary?

Re: [HEADS UP] sendmail-devel will be renamed to sendmail-milter-devel

2016-08-05 Thread Ondřej Lysoněk

Hi,

this change is indeed happening only in F26 and later. There are no
plans to do the rename in earlier releases.

However, I'm not sure where the "0%{?rhel} > 7" condition in your spec
sample came from. I have no idea when the rename will get to RHEL, and I
would definitely warn about such a change.

Hi,

on Friday, August 5, I will rebuild the sendmail package for

BuildRequires and Requires of your packages accordingly.

List of know affected packages:
clamav
milter-greylist
milter-regex
mimedefang
opendkim
opendmarc
python-pymilter
spamass-milter

[1] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=891288

Hi, Ondrej. I package both opendkim and opendmarc, which are on your
list. I maintain both packages for all current Fedora and EPEL distros
(F23+, EL5-7)

To confirm, which versions of Fedora / RHEL will this rename affect?
Only F25+? Just trying to figure out how to re-write my BuildRequires
lines properly.

Only Rawhide (F26) has changed (Ondřej, please let us know if there are
any plans to make this change anywhere else).

I have updated milter-greylist, milter-regex and spamass-milter using
something like this:

# Milter header files package name
%if 0%{?fedora} > 25 || 0%{?rhel} > 7
%global milter_devel_package sendmail-milter-devel
%else
%global milter_devel_package sendmail-devel
%endif

BuildRequires: %milter_devel_package

So I figured out the problem (I hope) - stupid monkey error, I
neglected to update the openqa packages on the worker boxes, I only
updated the os-autoinst packages - and have re-started the tests for
this compose. A new check email should be sent out when they finish.
Very sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry folks, I'm afraid this is entirely my fault...yesterday I bumped
openQA production to the version that's been running fine in staging
for weeks, and it seems to have somehow broken really badly. The test
'failures' are not true failures but some kind of malfunction in
openQA. I'll try and figure out what's going on and fix it, then re-run
the tests. In the mean time you can see more correct results on staging
(which is still working fine...), which look mostly like yesterday's:

Re: [HEADS UP] sendmail-devel will be renamed to sendmail-milter-devel

Hi,

on Friday, August 5, I will rebuild the sendmail package for

List of know affected packages:

milter-greylist
milter-regex
mimedefang
opendkim
opendmarc
python-pymilter
spamass-milter

%if 0%{?fedora} > 25 || 0%{?rhel} > 7
%global milter_devel_package sendmail-milter-devel
%else
%global milter_devel_package sendmail-devel

Overall, I think the biggest problem with our Fedora contributor
on-boarding process is that it's not so easy to discover people to
help people get started. One thing I think Mageia (the other
distribution I'm primarily involved in) does better is the discovery
bit. As part of the on-boarding process[1], new contributors are
encouraged to jump into a dedicated IRC channel (#mageia-mentoring)
where they can meet people to help them through the process. Something
like this might make it easier for people to find sponsors and find a
mentor to teach them about how to make packages and be a Fedora packager.
Perhaps having a mailing list and an IRC channel for this in Fedora
might help make this process smoother.

*required*? No, strongly encouraged maybe.

As an aside, Copr doesn't require CLA+1 ?

(If not, isn't that just asking to be abused/spammed, like the we've seen
elsewhere?)

Re: Pending ACLs

2016-08-05 Thread Helio Chissini de Castro
I have a strong opinion over this

All the ACL's should be accepted, doesn't matter the level.
And why i think of this ?

Two simple reasons:
- The packager abandoned the package, because several reasons, and then is
far away from Fedora systems for some time
- The packager is actively using Fedora, but seen not care to even properly
take care of his package, not in the minimal sense to deny the ACL, which
would be acceptable.

In both cases, the package became hostage to someone that for sure aren't
caring much for the distro, unless prove me wrong.

Thanks, I'll add a call to action next time.

This is true. About 25% of the ACL are in this situation. I'll update my
database and in a couple of days run it again removing those.

Cheers,

Well, the recent pkgdb is already quite a bit old and it should definitively
auto-accept the watch* ACLs.
Do you have a link so I could look at the package/history?

Thank you for your feedback Neal! I would like to ask the group to
discuss this in the next EPEL weekly meeting, so we can begin to move
forward with updating bodhi. According to the incompatible upgrades
policy[0], this should be discussed at a weekly EPEL meeting. However,
I wasn't able to find out when the EPEL weekly meeting is on the EPEL
calendar[1]. When/where is the next EPEL meeting?

Thanks for your consideration!

There will be a single instance of koji for all architectures.

Yes. a failure on one arch, just like in primary now for
x86_64/i686/armv7hl, this won't change.

I'm not sure what the question is here.

Yes, we use virt-install for deployment of VMs already across
aarch64/ppc64/ppc64le.

Yes, but this is an "experimental arch" and is completely out of scope
of this proposal.

There will be a slight change that a failure in an arch won't cancel
the other arches and each one will run to completion (pass/fail) but
the overall primary task will still fail.

The data we have for build failures across all the arches show that
not to be the case.

All the pure noarch packages, which is over 50% of the distribution,
currently can and are regularly built on ppc64/ppc64le builders now
anyway due to them being in primary koji for EPEL so for a large
percentage it's already dealing with a lot of the arches we're due to
cover anyway and there's not been a single issue reported there in the
12 months that ppc64le has been present.

And in response to the "slow built times" the builders in the non
primary koji instance are of equivalent or faster than the x86
builders. EG the ppc64 builders use to be a LOT slower than x86 back
when we had Power6 builders, but that hasn't been the case for over 3
years, and the current Power8 generation builders are actually faster
than the x86 builders. For ARMv7 (which is not part of this because
it's already in primary) will actually get faster builders on aarch64
as part of this change.

> With secondary koji instances, neither of these are major issues, and
> secondary arch teams are able to work on build fixes for those arches
> without the maintainers being bothered by them.

In most cases the maintainers are still bothered by failures even from
the secondary arches anyway, it will certainly be more up front to
them but the core packages that historically have issues (toolchains
etc) already have maintainers that actively test and support the non
x86 architectures anyway.

> task to be considered a failure?

Yes, but how would you deal with a soname bump where if it's not fatal
on an arch what happens when something is then rebuilt against one
version on one arch and a different version on a different arch. You
end up in a big mess really quickly. It ends up being a lot less work
(even in the current situation with non x86 arches) if the issue is
fixed from the outset.

I think you may have made a mistake with the obsoletes/provides for the
upgrade path.

You have:

Provides: sendmail-devel%{?_isa} = %{version}-%{release}
Obsoletes: sendmail-devel%{?_isa} < 8.15.2-8

I think it should be:

Obsoletes: sendmail-devel < 8.15.2-8
Provides: sendmail-devel = %{version}-%{release}
Provides: sendmail-devel%{?_isa} = %{version}-%{release}

Obsoletes: works on package names, not the virtual provides that include
%{?_isa}. And the provides should include the version with and without
the %{?_isa}, since that's what the original package provided and either
might be used by existing packages.

Cheers, Paul.

I am currently awaiting a new firmware to fix an issue from the
vendor. It's currently going through their QA process so it's ASAP and
I'm hoping to be dealing with it early next week.
