Re: [slim] Setting Sleep from SqueezeCenter...
Since the UI controls more than just the Boom, this would be a very useful feature (and one that used to be available on the old default skin). I've got an SB3 hooked up to my stereo in my living room, with speakers that go into my bedroom, where my computer desk is. If I want to change the station, playlist, volume, etc., I can do it while working at my desk, but if I want to set the sleep function before I go to bed, I need to get up, walk to the other room, find the remote, and set the sleep function. -- craigim craigim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4840 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52836 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Cover Art from 'mirrored' directory tree - possible?
Ok, so I have my music as .flac files organized as \\server\music\flac\%genre\%artist\%album\%title.flac and playing music works great. The last week I've been getting album art to display in both Squeezecenter and my Duet controller. I don't want to 'pollute' the FLAC music file directories (for organizational purposes) and I definitely do not want to embed images as tags so I was hoping I could point Squeezecenter to \\server\music\cover art\%genre\%artist\%album\folder.jpg wihch is a fully mirrored directory tree structure of the FLAC directory (except for 'cover art'.) But I can't figure out a way to do this - Squeezecenter doesn't allow variables in the cover art directory option and I don't feel like renaming all the cover art files to %artist-%album and dumping them in one huge folder which would be very messy. Is there a way or do I just have to suck it up and dump the folder.jpg files in to each folder? -- MadMan MadMan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31308 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=65623 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I don't know if this works with Rhapsody stations, but it works with most any station within Internet Radio or Music Services. Actually the SB3 is supposed to switch over to ethernet as soon as you plug in the ethernet cable (assuming it's a good cable). This is different from the SB Duet Receiver, which does require the user to re-do the setup process. That said, it certainly is a good idea to double-check that the SB3 is indeed using the ethernet connection after plugging it in. This can be done via SC Settings Information and looking at the player info -- if it doesn't say anything about wireless signal strength then it is using wired. [slim] Internet radio hangs
Internet radio seems to work well unless the radio station broadcasts a header (internet streaming is brought to you by...), which is quite common on NPR stations. The header is played successfully, then I get a rebuffering message, and then the header replays after about 20-30 seconds. This behavior continues indefinitely. If I paste the URL of an NPR station (taken from their website) directly into the playlist, it works fine. The problem started a few days after I installed 7.3.2, which is also the first time I assigned Internet Radio stations to my Favorites list. It worked fine for the first few days, then stopped for a couple of weeks until I installed 7.3.3, which fixed the problem. After 3-4 days it stopped working again and reinstalling 7.3.3 had no effect.
