Re: [slim] No longer Scrobbling to Last FM
Hmmm, not sure what's happening. similar set up (transporter and 7.4.2) and working fine here. only difference I see is that I'm running XP. But not sure why you have last.fm icon in system tray. What does this have to do with scrobbling from squeezeboxserver? The last.fm app in SbS is a different animal from the audioscrobbler plugin. The former is for listening to last.fm and the latter is for reporting tracks to last.fm. when in doubt, my first response is to (in order) 1. reboot router, 2. reboot computer, and 3. stop and restart SbS. [slim] SqueezePlay and Artwork Issues
Anyone else having this issue? - For tracks that don't have artwork embedded in the tag, SqueezePlay displays the artwork of another tag. But not only this, it displays the SAME artwork for all tracks without embedded artwork. Not sure how it picks the artwork, but for every single track without embedded artwork, - it displays the same artwork file even if I have the Folder.jpg in that given directory/folder. The only way this clears up is if I clear the overall artwork cache. But that only seems to be a temporary fix. Eventually SqueezePlay will grab some other file's artwork and once again use it for all tracks without embedded artwork. Anyone else experiencing this with SqueezePlay. Not a big deal as its not effecting functionality but its just really annoying to see the same, incorrect artwork displayed instead of the folder.jpg. How do you power off the SB Receiver? I'm running a SB Radio and a SB Receiver. Those two are synchronized, but only audio, not volume or power. When i start to listen to some music on the radio, i can go over to the other room, switch on the amp and voila, same music. What happens if i listen to an internet station and simply turn off the radio? The duett keeps on streaming. I won't notice because the amp is powered off. Not very nice to the internet station. Which options do i have to prevent this? Press pause before turning off. Ok, i do this at the moment. But i will forget this... Power the duett off with the amp. But then the controller looses the receiver and switches over, controlling the radio. Sync Power. But then the radio starts to run the moment i listen to the main system. I'll check the all tracks query for performance too. Maybe I can collect the album artist information incrementally. Like so: When the complete album list is loaded (initially) I'll skip the artist information. And when individual albums or groups of albums (artist-query) are loaded at a later time, I query the artist information along and add it to the complete album list. As it is now, your NAS cannot deliver 20 albums in 10 seconds (timeout). Is the setup of a SB system really that hard? When did flexability become a bad thing? You can make it as hard as you want (add plugins, use Linux, etc.), but it really isn't that bad. Perhaps setting up a SB system is not as easy as plugging in your toaster, but is it much harder than programming your microwave? Most people seem to figure that out. Re: [slim] iPeng vs. Android apps...?
As several authorities have already said - you cannot compare the speed of the web-interface of SqueezeCenter to a native application like iPeng, SqueezeCommander or SlimControl. The apps are much faster and more intuitive than the browser interface. Given that these apps cost a fraction of the hardware it all depends on what you are willing to spend on the hardware. And what you'll be doing with it besides controlling your SqueezeBox. If you fancy an iPhone - go get it and iPeng comes for like 2% extra money. Same for an Android phone SqueezeCommander. If you merely want to control your SqueezeBox get a PDA for 30 bucks and SlimControl for another 15. If you want to be able to make phone calls with your 'controller' get a reasonably priced smartphone like a HTC + SlimControl. Just my 2c. Re: [slim] Repeating Songs
sonartribe;521659 Wrote: I've got a problem with my SB Classic. When I want to play a random selection from a single artist, or the whole collection, I select Artist - All Songs. When I do this, it plays the first track, then when it finishes it plays the same track again. If I try the next track etc on the remote it is insistent that it will only play the first track! I'm running 7.4.2 Linux on Sheevaplug. The problem was also there in 7.4.1 Anybody got any suggestions??
