You not typing in a space by mistake ? Btw you are using WPA not WEP ?
Any recent changes to the router .

Try your own router without security ? Just as a test .

Both is on our roadmap. Gapless play as well as synced play. Supporting
gapless play while streaming to multiple devices in perfect sync sounds
like a challenge though. But we like challenges after all :-)

I disconnected all devices (wired and wireless, and shut them down) from
router.
Reset router.
Attempted to connect with only the troubled device.

NO LUCK. Same result.
Device sees the network but after entering the network password (yes it
is correct and in correct case) the router will not accept it.

Scratch head.

FLACs (for jazz and classical) and MP3s on Samsung S5, and Shure SE530
that provide complete isolation even in loud environments. I fly and
travel a fair amount, and need good music to relax during travel or
before going to sleep. An important combo for me, hence the relatively
pricey in ear monitors... I find the music quality on the S5
surprisingly good, and supposedly the Apple IPhone6 measure up to true
audiophile standards.

agree. turn everything off (or unplug), including unplugging router.
Then plug router back in and let fully start. Then turn on one item at a
time, letting each fully start.

I generally agree with your point. But a comparison of a specific album
across the two services doesn't really tell you anything about the
quality of the two services because the comparison *may* be confounded
by the ignored variable of underlying album version. So the test would
really be more about which service carries the *version* of the album
you like best rather than which service is streaming a better quality
track (i.e, without added compression, etc.). It may be that testing
the latter is just fine. I'm just pointing out that your test is the
"joint test" of both underlying mastering/version and streaming.

But wasn't the point to compare the quality of the services. That would
include masterings. Little sense in just comparing lossless vs. lossy,
in the end it's the audio quality you get for the money that counts. If
it's better, it's better, independent on what causes it.

Also: don't forget that you might be more flexible in your mastering if
you don't have to take potential compression artifacts into account.
Although these usually affect lower bit rates much more.

correct. Different masterings (CDs released at different timesa
1990s version vs a new and improved (or not) version. I have lots of CDs
that are the exact same album but different masterings (Fleetwood Mac,
then play on, comes to mind. by the way, an example of the new mastering
being WAY BETTER than the original CD version.

[slim] Some devices not connecting to wifi

2014-11-11 Thread golddustpeak

I have 4 devices that have been connected to my system for several
years:
Duet
Classic
Transporter
Radio

Just recently the Duet Controller and Radio will no longer connect to my
wifi.
I've done hard resets of the devices, and insured that the wifi is on an
unused channel, and has no problems.
The signal strength from the wifi is not a problem.

The Controller and Radio accept my network password but will not connect
to the network.

I also am able to connect the Radio and Duet Controller to a weak
unsecured network in the area.

The Transporter and Duet radio continue to be working fine.

Suggestions please..
