Re: [slim] Squeezebox Classic (3) schematic
I had a Slim Devices unit that lost one analog out channel but the optical out worked fine.. Did not attempt the repair - poor solder skills - used a little optical to rca converter until I replaced with a Touch. As you've read this is known fault. Good luck! RIP - Peter Green who along with the band Fleetwood Mac helped school us all about the Blues. He like his former band boss John Mayall were part of that British blues invasion that helped make USA black blues music OK for us white kids to enjoy - sad but true. Re: [slim] LMS Extractor Is Now Available
I've installed and tried your extractor - simple and speedy. I know nothing about SQL so I used your built-in queries. However to be of use to me, I would have to either have you change a couple of basic things in the queries, have you tell me how to do it myself or I need to learn SQL. _Here's_the_thing_-_Every_album_I_have_has_an_\"ARTIST_SORT\"_tag:_ Bob Dylan's is "Dylan, Bob" - he show's up in the D's not the B's as "Bob Dylan" in LMS listings. Led Zeppelin's is "Led Zeppelin" - they show up in the L's as "Led Zeppelin" in LMS listings. So any SQL query would have to use the same logic. Is this a simple thing to do? I understand "I don't have time to deal with that right now" completely! Thanks for putting this out there. However by the end of the run it takes two or three seconds to process each entry. ACC is progressively slowing down - I do not have the skills/knowledge to troubleshoot this. Maybe it has to do with the NAS? Anyway with the 7.6 changes coming you've got enough to do. I'm just happy to be able to generate the quickref ONLY. Thanks for adding the option - I thought I was missing it. I'm a bit dull as to who does what to whom when. The NAS is pretty well powered - Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz. The load on the PC seems to come after I get the ACC completion message. So the slow down must be in the retrieval of the art from the NAS. Should I be picking another art option in ACC? Where does the art reside after the full catalog is built? PC (in the generated hmtl file) or still on the NAS? Both units are hard wired to a 10/100 gb router. Re: [slim] Announce: Album Catalog Creator v3
dasmueller FYI It took 51 minutes for the ACC 3.4 to complete (NOT including generating the FULL Catalog). I'm using Windows XP - Pentium 4 2.8ghz - 1GB ram. The PC is wired to a router which is wired to a NAS that runs SqueezeServer and holds all the files. Total Tracks: 36,496 Total Albums: 2,634 Total Artists: 1,119 All tracks are FLAC. Not sure of all this but I think my big problem is when ACC finishes and then tries to generate the Full Catalog. At this point my PC just grinds and grinds - I assume trying to get all the cover art into the Full Catalog as the Quick Ref is already done and displayed in another browser window. That's a lot of artI'm not listing any tracks and not choosing large art option. Re: [slim] Announce: Album Catalog Creator v3
I tried ACC 3.4 and the full catalog run drives my pc to it's knees. Searching threads here and checking program options but cannot seem to find anything mentioning running the Quick Ref only. Am I missing the obvious? Anyone have a suggestion? I really like the Quick Ref - is there some other program/CLI way to run a catalog like the quick ref in ACC? The full catalog is something I might run every once in awhile but the quick ref is great to check my tagging. Thanks to the author for the ACC program. [slim] Received Logitech survey request
I received an email invitation to complete a Logitech survey concerning my "Squeezebox Classic". Just want to let y'all know that I said the hardware was great but that maybe more resources(time & money)should be dedicated to perfecting/updating/clearing all bugs in the "free" software that makes it all run. I suggested that maybe punching out hardware was moving a little faster than punching out the corresponding software. Then I did the survey again for every Squeeze device I own, paying special attention to the initial (permanent? OK, talk amongst yourselves...) problems of the Duet being pushed out the door ?prematurely? with the customer base providing the beta test bed for the hardware/software. Does that sum up what I've read on these forums? I myself had initial issues with the Duet but now it seems to work nicely. Re: [slim] Slimserver 6.5.3 & 6.5.4 for Infrant NAS NV+
I second that emotion - could/would someone please help us ReadyNAS users out? Infrant/Netgear remains silent on this issue. No response from them on any of my inquiries on their forum. Will Slim Devices/Logitech fess up on this? Is the ReadyNas support OVER? When 6.5.3 was announced at least ya'll mentioned Infrant in the text. Now this 6.5.4 announcement does not mention them at all. The download button for ReadyNas has disappeared from your download page. PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE address the issue of the future relationship between Slimserver and ReadyNAS. The reason I bought this streaming solution was the SB3 coupled with the ReadyNAS. Although others bemoan the performance of Slimserver on the ReadyNAS - it works great for me. I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO RUN ANOTHER PC JUST FOR THE TUNES. Are there copyright issues that prevent Slim Devices from generating their own version of Slimserver for the ReadyNAS?
