Mixcloud is also logging network problems so I think your problem may be a network problem not specifically a Mixcloud one. General rule, first thing to try is to turn off and restart all devices. I turned on debug logging and can see that it is getting back a "resource not found" when trying to access (for example) http://api.mixcloud.com/popular?offset=0=50; So I guess MixCloud have changed their API or they have a temporary problem. I think I found the problem. In the custom-convert.conf I was using $FILE$ instead of $URL - this is OK for transcoding files but not streams with URLs. Luckily ffmpeg can handle the "file://" URL type so MP4 transcoding of files is not broken by adding support for MP4 streams. Can you test. Install the MP4 "plugin" which is really on a custom-convert.conf file - ffmpeg must be installed separately. Squeezelite also plays OK. However Squeezeplay may or may not play depending on whether the build include AAC support. Squeezebox Touch - Plays just fine 2. Squeezebox Radio - Plays just fine 3. The mixcloud plugin doesn't seem to work for me. Yesterday a few mixes would work - today none - it looks like access is being challenged by mixcloud authorisation. Others have had the same issues https://github.com/danielvijge/lms_mixcloud/issues The plugin is just ticking over - author says he doesn't play mixcloud much now. It looks like it used to support transcoding but something has changed possibly "https" vs "http" and changes have resulted in a "direct" only system. Looks like Mixcloud plugin only works with "direct" streaming to players ie. no transcoding. Not sure if this was because streaming MP4 transcoding was not available and so not tested or whether the plugin implementation is such that it cannot support players that cannot play AAC natively. However you may have issues with line wraparound (i.e. a single line becomes two lines) and tab characters being changed into multiple spaces - this will break LMS Try the simpler approaches first. Interesting custom-convert.conf file. It has WMA and MOV entries which is a very unusual mix. Any idea how /when /why it was created ? WMA - Microsoft WMA support - do you have WMA file that are played ? MOV - this is usually Movie but also MP4. AFAIK it is not longer part of standard LMS as it was removed in 2011 the 'mov' type would need to be defined for the custom-types.conf to be used but there is no custom-type.conf file I am confused by this custom-convert.conf file - it may be a leftover or it may be needed for some odd files. I suggest the following. 1. Save a copy of the existing custom-convert.conf 2. Replace the existing custom-convert.conf by the my one which will support MP4 3. if Mixcloud works OK, then continue as normal but report any file/streams which fail to play as they may have required the old custom-convert.conf Assuming the file custom-convert.conf.txt is in the squeezeboxserver directory. Commands to copy old conf file and then copy new one to take its place. There is already a custom-convert.conf there ? If so then it means we can't simply copy the conf file I created. If a custom-convert.conf file is already there then you have already had need of support -maybe that's why ffmpeg is already installed. At that keyboard screen. Type the commands - end each command with a return. You can move and rename the custom-convert.conf file using a GUI file-manager/file explorer (not sure what it is called on RedHat) . The only technical but will be making sure ownership & permissions of the custom-convert.conf file is the same as other files in the directory. >From your list of directories, I think look into "*/usr/share/squeezeboxserver/*" and see if there files convert.conf and types.conf in that directory. If so copy the custom-convert.conf into that directory. Good that ffmpeg is installed. LMS only reads the custom-convert.conf file at start up. If it breaks something all you need do is rename the file to something differernt , restart LMS and all MP4 will be back as before. So it is a simple chnage to make. The most difficult part is finding where to put the file as it varies from OS to OS. I don't know where LMS is installed on RedHat. Use the following to check for convert.conf. In WebUI Settings/Information - there will be a couple of directories listed - one will end "Slim/Plugins" (not one with cache) . Seems this issue is a well known Mixcloud issue (e.g. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?88286-Mixcloud-plugin=937826=1#post937826 ) I have a workaround for streaming MP4 which I think should work for Mixcloud. The URL below can be used to check whether workaround has been installed OK. Below is a MP4 podcast (i.e. streaming MP4) . I think it will not play on your system http://rf.proxycast.org/1612510365621428224/12283-06.09.2019-ITEMA_22141719-0.m4a To make streaming MP4 work - do the following. 1. Install ffmpeg on your system (e.g. perhaps "yum install ffmpeg" ) and check it runs. 2. Download the attached "*custom-convert.conf.txt*" 3. copy the file into your LMS directory which already has convert.conf (see 4. rename the file to "*custom-convert.conf*" - just dropping the ".txt" 5. Restart LMS and check MP4 Filetype - (WebUI Setting/Advanced/FileTypes) now use ffmpeg and not faad. 6. I don't know Mixcloud but LMS is currently unable to transcode MP4 stream (e.g. MP4 podcast) , LMS is OK with MP4 file and with player who can play MP4 natively such as Touch/Radio and Squeezelite. There is a way to enable LMS but it means installing ffmpeg( aka avconv) on your system to do the MP4 transcoding instead of faad. To confirm my suspicion - can you enable logging "WebUI/Setting/Advanced/Loging) and set player.source to INFO, note time and then try to play a problem track. I'm not whether LMS supplied executables play on Red Hat also you haven''t said what architecture: Arm vs x86 , 32bit vs 64bit. The error may or may not be associated with the use of Mixcloud - you have provided no detail of the system and what is being attempted - e.g. audio format being played, the LMS version being used, OS platform etc. The error means that the Transporter cannot play the audio format natively and it must be transcoded bu the specific transcode capability is either disabled or not working on your LMS. For example, Transporter cannot play AAC natively so for AAC or ALAC audio you'll need to make sure that the LMS supplied faad and flac work and that AAC under WebUI Setting/Advanced/AAC have all rules enabled - none shoudl eb disabled. [slim] Transporter + Mixcloud UNABLE TO PLAY FILE TYPE
So i have the Mixcloud app installed on LMS and never needed to mess with this on the Touch it just worked.
