I assume that the Harmony does not offer the full Controller command menu. The Harmony system still is one way only: you can only send commands to your system, but it can't interact with it. There's no such thing as browse menus on the Harmony, because it can't receive that data. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I use a Harmony 650 with my livingroom setup (TV, AVR, Raspberry Pi with KODI, DVD and Chromecast). KODI media center on RPi works great with IR remotes through the TV set via HDMI. Got it figured out. It was a user error on my part. I had the "Watch TV" activity configured to leave all other devices "ON", and that's why Squeezebox was not shutting down when switching from "Listen to Squeezebox" to "Watch TV". My bad. Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
I realize this is an ancient thread, but was hoping some of you might have come across this. I've run into a problem with activities on my Harmony 900 remote when it comes to Squeezebox Classic (v3). I have it configured as "I want to turn off this device when it's not in use", yet, whenever I switch from listening to Squeezebox activity to some other activity, the Squeezebox remains on. It doesn't even pause playback when switching to a different activity. However, when I press the master Power/off button on the 900, the Squeezebox does get turned off then. What can be the problem? I tried adjusting the delays for the Squeezebox, but it made no difference. FYI, I also have a Harmony 880 remote, and no such issues there. Thanks! Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
Hello friends, Just a quick note to let you all know that if you have a Transporter and a Harmony remote, we have some long promised functionality implemented: 1- A mute command!! 2- Discrete input commands for digital inputs on Transporter. You can now select them in your activity setup (instead of adding all kinds of custom startup actions which tended to be hit and miss) Please let us know what you think! Cheers, Keymaster P.S. You need to have SC7.5 to have this work. You also have to add the improved Transporter device to your Harmony account and then update your remote. -- Keymaster Keymaster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30281 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67769 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

What I'm looking for is just a button with the radiostation name (or graphic), eg "BBC Radio 4" which triggers a certain SC favourite (eg no.4) and would emulate 'press and hold 4' on the SB remote) If there's no easy solution, I guess I can teach the harmony to learn prolonged number presses for all 9 digits. -- coolnice coolnice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38136 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67769 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
Yup, that's what I did in the end, I felt sure I was missing something, but alas no. I went for the Harmony One BECAUSE it was by Logitech, my assumption being that although its a lot more expensive than the other one I was looking at, it should be no problem with compatibility with my squeezeboxes and it should be easy peasy to get them to talk to each other. Hah, more fool me, you live and learn. Shouldn't ALL logitech products with an IR control be automatically added to the Logitech Harmony One software application, first, automatically, by process, before any other manufacturers get added? When you consider the pricepoint of these products, and how long they have been in the offing, surely that's not asking much? ...and why would I choose "Digital Music Server"? The SB Radio is not a Digital Music Server at all, and the Touch is only that if you want to make it so (which I don't). I knew I didnt want to control my actual Digital Music Server, which is in a cupboard and has no IR anyway, so that's just confusing. Its like calling something Toaster when you mean Fridge. Just seems it would be better if one group of Logitech would email the other group of Logitech, a simple config file for each Squeezebox product, (or just one as the OP seems to indicate it would work for all) to add into the software directly, instead of relying on people counter-intuitively installing a 'Digital Music Server' device, calling it an SB3 and then going back in and renaming it and reprogramming half the buttons. That simple solution would have prevented me from chasing my tail for an hour looking for a logitech product in a Logitech piece of software which *should* be there, but wasn't. Now I'm not convinced its installed properly, as I don't get access to some of the other fancy features described in this thread, which I have read from start to finish looking for a solution to this. Pfff. Anyway, thanks for the clarification, Cheers Jim -- squeezyjim squeezyjim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34525 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67769 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
Granted the Harmony software is less than intuitive when you get down to the fine tuning, but I can't see why you'd have a problem adding an SB3. I have software version 7.6.0 installed & have just run through the process. Devices Tab > Add Device > Music Player > Digital Music Server > Logitech & then manually enter device model. It even gives Squeezebox v3 as an example. -- rbz5416 rbz5416's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12089 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67769 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
OK then, I'll rephrase the question... how on earth do you add a Logitech SB3 so you can rename it to Squeezebox Touch to the Logitech Harmony One devices list? IT DOESNT APPEAR TO BE LISTED IN THE SUPPORTED DEVICES LIST ANYWHERE. I have since manually added an SB Touch device and taught the commands one by one, and its officially the biggest PITA device I have had to programme, including an obscure no-name DVD player which was much easier to find, and this seems bizarre. Related to my previous post, I noticed this little detail in the 7.5.0 changelog: > #3932 - (Transporter / Boom) Add discrete ir codes for power_on, > power_off, digital_inputs and line_in Two questions: Does this allow to select a digital input (or at least the digital input selection menu itself) directly? Will these commands be added to the Harmony database, or can they be added manally in some way? A positive answer on either - or hopefully both - would make things a lot simpler for me and I suspect a bunch of other people using the digital inputs of the Transporter. -- furonfour 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/wostu) - Chaos is the mother of all creation. furonfour's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17114 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67769 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
I may have found a tiny glitch, though I am not sure. I recently added a Transporter to my family of Squeezeboxes, replacing a Classic I had in the living room. Since I had my Harmony (One) programmed already I never changed anything, but after a while I noticed something annoying. I have the Transporter set to "Pause at power off / Resume at power on" in the SqueezeboxServer Audio settings. I noticed that when I used the Harmony to power on the Transporter, it indeed resumed to play the song, but after 2 or 3 seconds, it stopped and restarted the song playing at that moment. I also noticed that this did NOT happen when I used the original remote of the Transporter, so I suspect it has something to do with the "Power On" and "Power Off" commands in the database. Just to stretch: I am not 100% sure if this is a bug, but maybe someone with a similar setup can confirm this issue. Nor am I sure if this is really a Harmony issue, or something that was introduced in the latest version of SqueezeboxServer (Version: 7.4.2 - r30215 @ Fri Feb 19 15:21:27 PST 2010 - Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 - Perl Version: 5.10.0 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi). As a fix, I re-educated the Harmony the remotes power button command for "Power Toggle", "Power On" and "Power Off", overriding the commands found in the database. This seems to have solved the issue. -- furonfour 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/wostu) - Chaos is the mother of all creation. furonfour's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17114 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67769 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I do this on my standard remote to create a MusicIP mix. Pressing and holding play on the Harmony (One) doesn't work. I've tried learning a long press but the Harmony software rejects it. Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
I've been using my Harmony 1000 to control one of my SB3s for a good while now and not noticed many problems, it's always had descrete ON/OFF codes from what I can tell hasn't it? If I have any issue (other than feeling stung by Logitech after paying for what I feel was an overpriced buggy beta for the Harmony 1100, but let's not go there) it's that fact that I can't find the non-descrete on/off toggle (like the red button on the original remote) since that's the only button I seem to be able to use to get my SB3 to send a WOL packet to my server when I'm trying to reconnect to it after changing back from SqueezeNetwork. Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
The command "Browse by genre" exists on the Squeezebox, and works as you would expect. However, although "Browse by artist", "Browse by album" etc are available on the Harmony remote, "Browse by genre" is not. I have in vain tried to make the Harmony support understand what I want, but have received no help. So perhaps better luck in this forum: would it be possible to add "Browse by genre" to the available remote commands for the squeezebox (3)? -- strindberg strindberg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11265 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67769 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Improved Squeezebox config availible for Harmony users.
Would it be possible to have a single button on the remote to activate and disactivate synch groups? Having to go to settings/synch/etc. it's *really* annoying.
