[drakelist] FS: Drake TR-22C Portable 2-mtr FM xcvr w/pics
Hi All; I never got to fool with this so I have no idea if it works so basically am selling for parts. TR-22C with all 12 channels filled, 24 xtals, drake mike, short DC cable, leatherette case. Radio is in Excellent physical condx(no tears or rips), antenna is same, mike has tape residue on the backside, .Looks like a mod to hold "AA" cases(2), which plug onto those 9vdc battery connectors we all know. No "AA" cases though. Can charge from 110vac but no cable supplied. I would think this is a tech special or for parts. The 24 xtals are worth it alone, they may even work on other radios. My New twins(1977) seemed to need more audio for some reason. Now I could talk a bit lower to accomplish the same. Too high a setting causes more background noise, not good, hi! I found a plug-in circuit board that looks like it might be for the TR-7 but not sure. Only marking is a bunch of numbers done with solder. They are: 1424D or 0 460 Measures about 3-1/16" wide x 3-3/4+ high. Has 7 contact strip on the bottom( 5 and 2) typical 2 holes on top for yanking out of the chasssis connectors. 5 transistors, TI 2N1377 all. Any ideas? tnx & 73... Rich WA2RQY

Hi All; Finally relocated to Port Charlotte Florida & started going thru my boxes of stuff. I found a nice Drake T-4XB transmitter but I could'nt find the supply, maybe I sold it already? This T-4XB will be untested but appears complete, all tubes, etc. The chassis looks good also, little if no "spotting". The only negative is that the cabinet must have been damaged in moving and the front lip is kinda bent a bit at the right front side. You can see it in the picture. I don't have the time and have not found all my tools yet or I would have attempted to remove the cover & straighten it out. I would like to get $170 shipped UPS. I borrowed a supply from a friend and was bringing it up on a variac when at around 80vac or so, the supply started to Hum/vibrate. All was in standby or NON-x Mode, so there was it was not in xmit that I know of. I was thinking there was a short or something in the T-4XB, besides my friend was concerned for his supply, so we stopped! So I decided, rather then fool around with it & make it worst, was to sell it to someone who needs a project. I did remove the covers to look around, all was intact & complete except for the last picture of a small Circuit board next to these 3 white power resistors. The Wire wound Choke(?) is split, a few wires on the board are discolored(where hot?). Anyway, the cabinet has a few minor scratches on top, there is one area on the side & bottom where paint came off because of Tape. Where do people put tape on thier gear, argh! Bottom has correct feet, all screws are there. All correct knobs, Front panel is in Very good condition. The meter is ok, a vom check "made the pointer move test"! I'd hate to tear it apart & sell it in pieces, so someone rescue it pse, hi! I would like to get $150.0PPD. [drakelist] FS: DRAKE 2B & 2BQ, Need restoration w/pics!
Hi All; I think I may have found these in time & will not part out if someone wants to restore these units. They were not used in years & the pics will show this. You really have to look belond the appearance:-) Both units have lettering intact, correct knobs & feet, all tubes look there. The Speaker in the 2BQ has a 3/4" hole, someone must have drop something thru it? I guess it can be patched? The Cabinets will need to be grit blasted & painted or at least sanded first. The metal rings on the knob fronts will need de-rusting too but at least they are there! I have made no attempt to try these as they probably need something besides physical restoration, therefore sold as-is. Usually the underneight of the chassis are clean, but did'nt even check that on these. The units will be packed seperately & shipped by UPS. I am selling seperatly but to the first fellow who wants both. If not then they will be sold seperatly. If interested please send town & zip code. I'd like to get $100 for the 2B & $40 for the 2BQ + UPS. Hi All; Sorry for my earlier post, I made a mistake. This one is correct:-) I have for sale a drake 2-AQ that is complete. I cannot test it because I do not have the radio but I did test the speaker. I got it from my friend because he never used it. I thought I would find a nice 2-C or 2-B but never did & lost interest. I think its worth $125 plus UPS.
