Hi, Gary. If you are looking for the RV-4C to complete the collection, that's great. However, if you plan to use the rig daily like we did in the old days I would suggest using a R4-C instead. There is a slide switch on the side of the TR4-C that allows you to select receive and transmit vfo..It's an either or selection. But there was a simple mod published that allows the switch to toggle between the vfo's for transmit but leaves the receive ant. connected to the R4-C at all times for (in rcv) and then you have dual receive. Sorry if this is a duplicate email. I had a bit of trouble with my Outlook today. I'm restoring a 2B s/n 11222. It's in very good condition except someone drilled a small hole in the faceplate, not sure for what reason, to the right of the AF Gain knob. The plate is in great condition, except for the hole. Before I go tearing up another 2B just to get the faceplate, I thought I'd see if anyone out here has a very good condition plate they'd like to sell. It needs to be scratch and ding free, no visible rust, and with all the letters and numbers clean and white. One of my L4Bs could use a new cabinet since a previous owner had dented part of the cabinet and it doesn't lend itself to straightening due to the location. I could use primarily the bottom but the top could be replaced as well. If you have one or both, I would be interested in hearing from you. Also, could use those metal rails that are used to mount the capacitor boards to the power supply sides. I have plenty of new diode boards, capacitors, diodes, etc. but could use those rails. Thanks Dave White VE6DRW Dave, here's what I did, if you cant find a replacement Go to electronics plus and get the 693-006 knob: http://www.electronicplus.com/ 693-006 1/4 SHAFT BLACK PLASTIC KNOB WITH CHROME FACE-DIAMETER: 1-5/8 x 1 HIGH http://www.electronicplus.com/images/products/693-006.jpg This is not an exact replacement, but it's close. There is a ridge on the bottom of the knob which I sanded flat (even with the ribs). This keeps the knob close to the aluminum insert. I then got a finger dimple and attached it to the knob. I had in extra finger dimple that I ordered from Elecraft (FDIMP), but I am sure there are other vendors. Glancing at the r-4c, you could tell the difference.
