[Dx4win] Restoring previous configuration
I lost my hard drive two weeks ago and am now working with a new machine. Seems like a good time to do my long awaited upgrade to version 7. Anyway, I backed up the version 6 files and wonder if I can simply copy a config file (the one with the CFG extension) over to the new DX7 folder and restore all my settings. Things like what port the radio is on and my custom QSL settings. The manual mentions writing an INI file, but I figured I'd ask before proceeding. Thanks! 73, Joe KQ3F ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
RE: [Dx4win] Restoring previous configuration
Hi Joe , Better is to write first the ini file in version 6. Merge this one after you installed the new version 7 Guy ON4AOI Van: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Namens Joe Stepansky Verzonden: zaterdag 15 november 2008 13:56 Aan: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Onderwerp: [Dx4win] Restoring previous configuration I lost my hard drive two weeks ago and am now working with a new machine. [Dx4win] CW build or buy
Hi. Thanks for reading. I have been using DX4 for years with a printer cable interface. Now, I have only a notebook and 3 USB ports. On DX4 help file there is information how to build a DB25 cable and/or DB9 transformation. The draw diagram shows pins 20 DTR and 7 GND. Above there is a table with: DTR pin 20, RTS pin 7 and GND pin 4 (not 7) What is the right? And how about DB9 my mainly focus.. The information on the table is ok? pin 4 DTR - pin 5 RTS and pin 7 GND There is a seller that can buy an industrial or made home DB9 cable, please? Maybe other solution like Winkey - or similar - will be more useful. I have DX4Win 7.05 installed on Acer Travelmate 6292 - XP SP3. I wil use it only for CW. I bought a USB to RS232 converter and it works with others applications. Many thanks in advanced and all ideas are welcome. Please help me to chose a good solution.
[Dx4win] DX4Win doesn't recognize the rig
For whatever reason, my newly installed DX4Win 7 won't see my rig. I had no problem with version 6, but I've seemingly tried everything and it won't go. I'm running this through RigBlaster PRO. All the connections appear to be fine (nothing changed between the time my old computer went bye-bye and this one). I'm connected from Serial In/Out A to COM1. Rig control on the Rigblaster is connected to CI-V remote jack on the 756 PRO II. Here's the set up under the Preferences/Radio tab: Type - Icom 756 PRO II Address - 64 (I've verified the address on the rig screen) Baud - 9600 Com Port - COM1 Poll Rate - 5000 Max Tries - 6 DTR High - Off (When I leave this on the rig keys continuously) RTS High - Off (When I leave this on the PTT is on continuously) Any ideas? 73, Joe KQ3F ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
Re: [Dx4win] CW build or buy
Hello Mac in com port pin4 is dtr pin 7 rts and pin 5 is gnd Even an interface with a 2n or an optocoupler like 4n35 will work, winkey will be better solution. I wish dx4win fully supports the version with the 2 radios in the next release like writelog does. Otherwise winkey is really perfect. 73 Kostas sv1dpi - Original Message - From: Marcos Amaral [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2008 10:28 PM Subject: [Dx4win] CW build or buy Hi. [Dx4win] omnirig
i have seen that many have problems one or other way with rig control. Dx4win is not the problem the most of the time. But maybe it's time Paul and dx4win supports omnirig, a free cat control program. It would be an alternative in every case... Either for a new rig or even to check if there is a problem in dx4win or in your radio (this can be done and today). Besides this someone will have the ability to run 2 programs which both support omnirig the same time... Just a wish see omnirig here http://www.dxatlas.com/omnirig/ Kostas sv1dpi - Original Message - From: Joe Stepansky [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2008 10:51 PM Subject: [Dx4win] DX4Win doesn't recognize the rig For whatever reason, my newly installed DX4Win 7 won't see my rig.
