[Dx4win] RTTY, Rigblaster, microHam, etc.
To get MMTTY rinning FSK within DX4WIN using MicroHAM interface. My rig is ICOM, the following settings may work for other rigs, but I have no experience with the others. Radio cabling according to the MicroHam interface setup. Assuming you have MMTTY running stand-alone and correctly PTT keying the transmitter and sending FSK when your rig is in RTTY mode running through the MicroKEYER.Get that set up first and running properly and then dont change anything in MMTTY. Then close MMTTY SETTINGS: MicroKEYER Virtual Port menu, create COM3 COM4 and COM5 Device menu: load template for DX4WIN Then set Control COM3 FSK COM5 CW COM4 DTR PTT COM5 RTS then Preset menu SAVE AS, and name it DX4WIN A button will appear at the bottom of the MicroKEYER screen that will allow you to recall the above settings. You can do the same for MMTTY stand-alone or other programs you use. If you make any further changes remember to save it again. Differently numbered COM ports may be used if needed to avoid conflict with your computer's hardwired COM ports, but the numbers used above must match those below. In DX4WIN File, Preferences, Radio Tab: Set radio type to your radio, COM port to COM3 Control Tab CW keying/PTT control Interface COM4 DTR line CW keying RTS line PTT control RTTY tab RTTY Interface: TYPE None MMTTY at bottom set path to mmtty.exe Save settings Open the MMTTY window within DX4WIN then from within MMTTY window hit Alt-S which will call up a small window named MMTTY keying setup Set PTT CONTROL and in key line click RTS (Dont set a COM port in this window) 73, Jay W5SL [Original Message] From: Jim Reisert AD1C [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Date: 11/30/2005 1:14:15 PM Subject: [Dx4win] RTTY, Rigblaster, microHam, etc. There have been many queries on the reflector lately about using blah-blah interface with DX4WIN for RTTY and/or PSK. It seems like we need some sort of cookbook for these devices: - Rigblaster - microHam - others? ... running this software - MMTTY - MIXW - others? ... for these modes: - RTTY - PSK and other audio FSK modes - others? ... on these radios: - ICOM - Kenwood - Ten Tec - Yaesu - others? What kind of information do people need and how should it be presented? I'd be happy to host a web page for this stuff, but I don't have the information. If you have the info or need the info, please respond to the reflector so we can create some sort of standard template for the information. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup
I have the http://www.qrz.com/; in BOTH windows, callsign and manager. If the manager box is left blank, nothing will happen. If the URL is in BOTH windows, the F3 in the log entry window will bring up Callsign / Mgr lookup window, in this window press Enter, and if you are online, the QRZ.com window will appear and bring up the Call info that is in your Callsign window in the log. 73 Jay W5SL 1. In Preferences, Ext Data, I entered http://www.qrz.com; in the Callsign Lookup Address window 2. I checked the box enabled 3. I push F3 and a new window comes up with the callsign of the call in the QSO window. 4. I push enter - nothing happens. Now, if I add additional info as help suggests to the QSL manager lookup section, when I push enter the QSL manager window of QRZ.COM comes up, but I am not interested in the QSL manager info, just the basic info as listed on QRZ.COM.
[Dx4win] Upgrading From 6.03 to 7.01
You do not need to uninstall 6.03. Actually leave it intact because the 7.01 will read your preferences from it. 7.01 installs in its own file on the disc and does not overwrite 6.03 After you install 7.01, and apply the key, look un the Help Files, under the Welcome window listed under Contents, there is a link for what you need to do to keep the existing settings and log files. 73, Jay W5SL [Original Message] From: Nga Tapuwae [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Date: 10/24/2005 5:38:55 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Upgrading From 6.03 to 7.01 I have purchased 7.01 (upgrade from 6.03) and have received my key. [Dx4win] Lost Log File
Supposing your log file is named K9OR.dxl you should find a file named K9OR.~xl in the SAVE folder in DX4WIN. This file can be renamed K9OR.dxl and will have most of the log. Of course one should back up the .~xl file first somewhere else before renaming it. All this assuming there is not something else wrong with your program itself. Also I back up the log file every day or so to a ZIP drive depending on activity and change the disc in it fairly often. I still keep a paper log with essential details of contacts, still don't fully trust computers. 73, Jay W5SL [Original Message] From: Randy Brothers [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Date: 10/3/2004 12:42:50 PM Subject: [Dx4win] Lost Log File After more than a year of no problems with DX4Win 6.02, some unknown glitch occurred that wouldn't allow saving the logfile when I went to close it.
