[e-gold-list] Re: GoldNow debit card can be bought with PayPal
Hi Graham, I'm still waiting to see a complete review of the card and any costs. I think Ragnar may also have asked for this too, but it would be good to see a comparative review of a selection of cards from different service providers and resellers. It may be useful to approach an article from the point of view of someone who does not fully recognise any benefit there may be in the use of the card, so both costs and benefits can be detailed. Maybe risks also should be analysed, especially since the experience of those who purchased the short-lived Latvian cards. If I'm not mistaken, spending at Bananagold is just spending via e-gold's SCI - so JPM doesn't nab your pin. Whoops! I am not suggesting that Bananagold is snatching anyones pin. My point was, that you spend to a retailer 10 grams for goods and you trust that the goods will be delivered, you have accepted the risk that the goods may not be delivered. At a retail store, you have the goods in hand when you make the spend. Again, I am not picking on Bananagold, I was just using them as a retail example. I would trust Bananagold to deliver the goods. I trust 1mdc.com to hold gold for me now. As far as reputation is concerned, as a security guy I can tell you that most thefts are inside jobs, the snotty nosed cashier who knows more about computers than the boss is the one to watch out for - he doesn't care about the reputation of the company, it's not his. I used to have connections to people who stole credit card details from customers at the bars they worked at. Steal enough pins, and only rob the big boys, and you can outrun being caught for a while. Yes, you are correct. For me though, the risk of losing 200 FeRNs worth of gold in my account to the remote chance of a cashier stealing it is small in comparison to the convience I would enjoy in being able to spend my gold at a retail outlet. I think waiting for a 100% secure solution for POS or retail outlets is retarding the growth of the digital gold economy into this realm. I also think that checks and balances could be put into the design of the digital gold server on the back end to counter hacking and theft. BTW, this thread was going on in the dgc.chat list and I responded back to the wrong list. [e-gold-list] Re: GoldNow debit card can be bought with PayPal
Graham, In your message to me you admitted that this new card is bassed in the USA. Please give me one reason why I should not be gravely dissapointed in hearing that you are basing the New Debit card in the most Gasthpho Country since Germany in Wold War II? The IRS here is compleatly lawless. The courts do not know what the constitution is. The IRS does not follow the written law. If you were basing your action on Title 26, I might understand. The IRS does not go by this. They make it up as they go. What is to keep the IRS from breaking down the door of the USA bank and confiscating the banks computers with all of the No Name card holders private information? Sure, the card has no name, but the records to the cards do, and the bank will have those records? Unless you can give me a good answer, I am appauld, and want my money back. Please Graham, you can do better than this. If you did this by accident, I forgive you, but otherwise, you picked the worst country in the world to have issued an offshore debit card from. Please give some viable explanation for this?A fifty dollar offshore card is a wonderful idea. A card from the USA should come with $50.00 to get anyone to take it. You may have answers, I would like to hear them. Please do not say Cheers, this is nothing to Cheer about. This effects my efforts with the offshore Auction. I presently have you linked. Do I need to remove that link, or can you remady this goof? I want to be able to link someone who has a $50.00 or less offshore debit card, not for my benifit but for my customers. Does anyone know of such a card that is actually offshore, in a tax haven? I know Graham, the USA is Offshore to Australia, but do you really think that this counts? .Fred L. [e-gold-list] Shhh... Here is a big secret!
Please give me one reason why I should not be gravely dissapointed in hearing that you are basing the New Debit card in the most Gasthpho Country since Germany in Wold War II? The IRS here is compleatly lawless. This may be true. However, it doesn't matter where in the world your debit card is issued from. They are ALL controlled by the United States. So you really have no more privacy with a debit card from Latvia than you do with a US issued card. The reason is that all regional ATM/Debit networks around the globe use the Visa/Mastercard network for international transactions. The IRS subpoenaed Visa and Mastercard within the last year for ALL records of offshore cardholders that might be US citizens. Frankly, you're better off sticking with a regular domestic US issued debit card if you are a US citizen. It draws less attention to you. --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use e-gold's Secure Randomized Keyboard (SRK) when accessing your e-gold account(s) via the web and shopping cart interfaces to help thwart keystroke loggers and common viruses.
[e-gold-list] RE: Shhh... Here is a big secret!
The IRS subpoenaed Visa and Mastercard within the last year for ALL records of offshore cardholders that might be US citizens. Yes, it is terrible and unconstitutional and very un-American altogether... BUT it is still worth pointing out that they only subpoenaed records of transactions carried out WITHIN the US. To take our Maestro card for example, yes some deep-down processing is done in Florida but the actual transaction records are kept safely offshore in St Vincent and the actual ID copies of cardholders are kept in yet another jurisdiction. That would take 2 extra subpoenas in unusual jurisdictions to get at. So even though our card is not anonymous, it offers much better privacy IMHO. Plus the advantage that by NOT being anonymous it doesn't attract the same attention :) For those who are not familiar with our Maestro cards, check http://e-fidex.com and click on Accounts and Cards. We also supply cards in bulk for membership groups etc. Regards Nick Fidex --- You are currently subscribed to e-gold-list as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use e-gold's Secure Randomized Keyboard (SRK) when accessing your e-gold account(s) via the web and shopping cart interfaces to help thwart keystroke loggers and common viruses.
