(Everybody hates hearing this, but) your customer's problem is his/her own computer security practices. A miligram of prevention beats the hell out of TONS of attempted-cure in these cases (nobody likes hearing THAT, either, but it's still just as true!). I've gotten an incredible number of fake-email-spams and viruses (well, attempted viruses!) lately. People need to compute *securely* if they wish to both use e-gold and be happy long-term. It's not very hard, and many folks here are anxious to help (for free, or very-cheaply, compared with losing-everything) because we don't like crooks. - Original Message - From: Ian Green [EMAIL PROTECTED] : That's disappointing! I disagree Ian! I believe this type of incentive program attracts people with an MLM-ponzi-HYIP get-money-for-nothing type of attitude, and the sooner e-gold is rid of the incentive programme altogether, the better it will be for the gold economy. How many serious banks or financial institutions do you know that give kickbacks to customers for referrals? IMO the incentive programme simply encourages spam and the wrong type of activity in the gold economy. Sidd, How many serious banks or financial institutions do you know that give kickbacks to customers for referrals? Well based on my experience I would say most of them do, although they try to avoid advertising it... just try asking them, using the appropriate subtle terminology. I think it's fair enough and it happens in most types of business. Nick, You as a larger processing company may have the leverage to ask for this kind of thing and to receive it, but what about me as an individual walking in off the street and saying I have an account here and I would like you to give me a kickback because I have brought my friend in to open an account; how much luck would I have? I am all for businesses negotiating kickbacks and benefits for volumes of referrals etc, which is an entirely different thing from the e-gold incentive program. For instance, Pecunix has a variable fee structure, so special accounts can be given reduced fees. Pecunix also offers other benefits to registered PREOs (Preferred Retail Exchange Organisations).
