[e-gold-list] roboxchange.com

2002-10-02 Thread Goldtoday

I have had a complaint from a customer concerning:

http://www.roboxchange.com/

They apparently do exchanges between currencies and e-gold.

My customer apparently had funds paid into their e-gold account without authority and
after contacting them was told point blank they would not refund it.

Any one have any information or experiences with them?

Yes. Robotically and irrevocably. (Everybody hates hearing
this, but) your customer's problem is his/her own computer
security practices. A miligram of prevention beats the hell
out of TONS of attempted-cure in these cases (nobody likes
hearing THAT, either, but it's still just as true!).

I've gotten an incredible number of fake-email-spams and
viruses (well, attempted viruses!) lately. People need to
compute *securely* if they wish to both use e-gold and be
happy long-term. It's not very hard, and many folks here
are anxious to help (for free, or very-cheaply, compared
with losing-everything) because we don't like crooks.

You're business will last no longer than two more weeks if you start
accepting credit cards.

The risk of financial loss due to reversal of charges and fraud is more than
your small company can take.

(Think about it - why don't the well known XA's do it... anymore?)

Guys,

I just got this update from netpaymaybe one of you ESPs might want to catch the

HELP US SELL OUR EXCESS E-GOLD- $100,000.00 sellout!

NetPay want to sell an excess of e-gold and we wish you all to benefit. We wish to
sell $100,000.00 worth of gold in the next 3 days at only 1.5% rate! This offer is not
valid for internal exhanges, and is only open to direct wired funds over $1000.00.

Our e-gold and backing gold accounts are overflowing in Gold and due to an incredibly
busy week of card transfer requests we need to sell some gold fast! WHAT BETTER WAY TO
HELP THAN CREATE THE NET'S CHEAPEST GOLD PURCHASING OPPORTUNITY!

Card transfers delay:

Some members may notice we have had to temporarily halt payments to cards and this is
directly related to the Gold overflow problem and the fact that we have had an
abnormal run of fiat currency cash requests to our club debit Cards over the past
weekend. The last 10 clients who managed a Card transfer request will notice there
cards will be funded today from the backlog over the weekend, and we sincerely
apologize for the delay. The Card transfer facility will be open as soon as our latest
cash installment of over $100,000 has cleared the Banks system.

YOU CAN BENEFIT FROM OUR EXCESS GOLD PROBLEM - PURCHASE E-GOLD FOR HALF THE NEAREST
RETAIL EXCHANGE RATE!

This offer is valid for wire funds over $1000.00 only. Follow the deposit methods in
your account and email us with details of the amount and your e-gold number for

We hope you all are enjoying the FREE spends October special at NetPay, and thank you
for all of your support.

: That's disappointing!

I disagree Ian! I believe this type of incentive program attracts people with an
MLM-ponzi-HYIP get-money-for-nothing type of attitude, and the sooner e-gold
is rid of the incentive programme altogether, the better it will be for the gold
economy. How many serious banks or financial institutions do you know that give
kickbacks to customers for referrals?

IMO the incentive programme simply encourages spam and the wrong type of
activity in the gold economy.

Sidd.

Well based on my experience I would say most of them do, although they
try to avoid advertising it... just try asking them, using the
appropriate subtle terminology. I think it's fair enough and it happens
in most types of business.

Nick,

You as a larger processing company may have the leverage to ask for this kind of
thing and to receive it, but what about me as an individual walking in off the
street and saying I have an account here and I would like you to give me a
kickback because I have brought my friend in to open an account; how much luck
would I have?

I am all for businesses negotiating kickbacks and benefits for volumes of
referrals etc, which is an entirely different thing from the e-gold incentive
program. For instance, Pecunix has a variable fee structure, so special
accounts can be given reduced fees. Pecunix also offers other benefits to
registered PREOs (Preferred Retail Exchange Organisations).

Sidd.
