Re: [Elecraft] KX3 CW keying problem
Kent yes i did try that. I prefer Iambic A as Petr does, his experience is identical to mine. I had tried iambic B previous to your advice with no change, and i don't use squeeze keying in any case. this is testing at 15 wpm. The issue is random, and sometimes I can nearly get through a CQ without it messing up. On my Yaesu rigs, same procedure, I have no issue and the send is perfect heard & tested with cwget monitor. On the KX3 I can tap for a dah and sometimes get a dit-dat-dit or dah-dit. When sending the 4 in my call I often get a dit after the last dah. or a dah-dit on the T. How the right paddle can produce a dit is beyond me. Left is set dit. I have played with weight and delay settings also to no avail. Thankyou for your response. 73 Adrian Fewster On 23/11/20 2:55 pm, K9ZTV wrote: Adrian ... [Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Report
Good Evening, There was little noise on either band. QSB was mild, except for those east of the Rockies on 40 meters. There was a flutter on all of you. Mostly it was reports of a chilly drizzle. Wind too. Cold wind. Snow is in my forecast, sometimes I look forward to it. I created some antenna radiation patterns as 3D objects last night. They are running on my 3D engine. Its simple hidden face algorithm is very confused with the toroidal pattern of a loop antenna. Sometimes the mistakes make the most interesting displays. Once I tame them down I will add a UI to control a few of the parameters. Height above ground changes the patterns, sometime drastically. I had forgotten how much fun it was to write these models. This morning I wrote a new Bessel function solver for the loop antenna. Machines are much faster than when I first wrote this code. I can step more finely for a smoother image. I need to write a better hidden surface routine. I do not know what mauve is either. My wife says I had only 8 crayons in my box while she had 64! I am amazed at her color perception and memory. She can look at a color and go to the store and have them duplicate it exactly - even without a sample for matching. Having done professional woodworking for 10 years, I can do good at wood stains and shades, so she leaves me to do that - I do not tinker with her color perception. [Elecraft] KAT500 help
"Has anyone ever used real RS232 signal levels into one of these, or does it actually only work with USB?" The KAT500 will accept either TTL or real RS-232 voltage levels. The KAT500 serial data transmitter is not RS-232 compliant (swings between zero and +12 V) and may not work with a true RS-232 receiver. It does drive a MAX 3232 with no problem. Whether the linked serial cable will work depends on the characteristics of the RS-232 port it is connected to. If that port needs true RS-232 voltage levels then it isn't going to work. (RS-232 swings positive and negative and is not zero referenced). 73.
