Re: [Elecraft] I am so over the KX3 list for shipping

2012-05-23 Thread Arthur Burke
Several years ago, Marsha and I drove up to Rochester, MN for the W0DXCC
convention - it's essentially a big mix of both DX and contesting info, but
well put together - it was fun.

While there, we attended a pseudo-forum that eventually derailed itself
into a bitch session about the 9000. There were a couple of factory reps
from Yaesu and they took it on the chin!

even screwed me on the shipping. Everyone of the 9000's had to go back
to Yaesu to get FIXED. Elecraft will just send parts, boards etc.

By the way someone has to find the issues and that is not always the
 beta testers.

 I have two K3's, P3, KPA-500 and the KAT-500 on order.

Elecraft does not ship products that are not ready and are not pressured
to ship prior to having all the bugs worked out.

Hi Don,

My rule of thumb comes from years of experience with OTHER manufacturers, not
with Elecraft. Now that I'm part of the K3-Line family, I'm learning my
risk-adverse behavior is a bit much. Oh oh ... I hear a voice calling to me
hey, little boy, wanna buy a KAT500.

It is a bit depressing for me having to travel with the super large FT450AT
with its crappy auto tuner and pretty lame receiver. If my K3 is any
indication of what I am waiting on with the KX3 it will be well worth the wait.
However, I do wish there was transparency in terms of when i could expect my
Dec 31st order.

Tell the people who ordered your projected ship times based on # units

 see progress.

This order number range is garbage.
