Hmm . . . The package may be installed but do you have evidence that the driver is now being used? Any evidence in 'dmesg' or /var/log/messages ? If the appropriate version 5.03 driver is installed and is functioning, then your next step would be to ask on a QLogic support channel with regards to the management software. Re: [elrepo] QLogic iSCSI HBA drivers
Hi Alan, Thanks for your help, I was able to install the package manually instead. So it seems even with the 5.03 driver version installed I cannot get the QLogic management software to run properly, argh! It could be that your fastest (closest) mirror isn't in sync with our main mirror. But that still does not explain the 'repository not found' message. Have you tried a 'yum clean all', followed by a 'yum --disableplugin \* --disablerepo \* --enablerepo elrepo-testing list available kmod-qla4xxx' ? If that show the package is available, use -- yum --disableplugin \* --disablerepo \* --enablerepo elrepo-testing install kmod-qla4xxx Alan. ___ elrepo mailing list elrepo@lists.elrepo.org http://lists.elrepo.org/mailman/listinfo/elrepo ___ elrepo mailing list elrepo@lists.elrepo.org http://lists.elrepo.org/mailman/listinfo/elrepo

Re: [elrepo] QLogic iSCSI HBA drivers
Hi Alan, Thanks for the great help so far! I tried what you suggested and am having difficulties. To begin with the EL Repo repositories were already configured and when I tried your suggestion I get the following: # yum --disablerepo \* --enablerepo elrepo-testing install kmod-qla4xxx Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Error getting repository data for elrepo-testing, repository not found So I tried this to make sure it was properly installed: # rpm -Uvh http://elrepo.org/elrepo-release-6-4.el6.elrepo.noarch.rpm Retrieving http://elrepo.org/elrepo-release-6-4.el6.elrepo.noarch.rpm Preparing...### [100%] package elrepo-release-6-4.el6.elrepo.noarch is already installed Any ideas as to why the repo is not working? Hi Liano, I can easily answer your three questions, thus -- 1) No. No. 2) N/A On checking with the QLogic downloads page I see that version 5.03.01.04.00.00-k0 is the current iSCSI driver for RHEL 6u3 whereas version 5.03.01.04.05.07-k0 is the current driver for RHEL 5u8. I can see the potential for confusion! Let me see what I can do. Alan. ___ elrepo mailing list elrepo@lists.elrepo.org http://lists.elrepo.org/mailman/listinfo/elrepo
[elrepo] QLogic iSCSI HBA drivers
Hello, I have been experiencing some issues with the included CentOS drivers for the following QLogic card, qle4060c. I have posted about it in the CentOS forums here: https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=40499&forum=57 (all important details can be found there) What is essentially happening (to the best of my knowledge) is the included drivers are version 5.02.00.00.06.03-k4. However, when I try to install the CLI management tools from Qlogic it is requesting a more recent driver version, 5.02.07.02.05.06-c0 (or newer). This is where I am stuck. Attempts to compile a newer driver fail, as outlined in the above post. I am certain my lack of experience is the root cause of the problem so I am seeking some assistance in resolving this issue. Here are some specific questions I have: 1) Before compiling a newer version of a driver is it necessary to remove any previous versions? Could this be preventing the newer drivers from compiling? 2) If 'yes' to above how would I go about removing them? Thanks for any and all assistance, Liano ___ elrepo mailing list elrepo@lists.elrepo.org http://lists.elrepo.org/mailman/listinfo/elrepo
