Thanks Rush.

I can testify to the fact that this "KOHNS" EVSE that you sold me years
ago with adapter has functioned well and is something I continue to use
several days a week at my house (plugged in at 110-120 Volts).

https://tucsonev.com/KHONSEVSE.html

(When I need 240 Volts I use my Clipper Creek CS-40 at 6 or 7 kW).
However, the goal here is not only to buy an additional cord that I can
carry around in my trunk (since the KOHNS is left in place at my house)
but which will hang from the wall less awkwardly to the 110-120 Volt
outlets (such as when I park at the Phoenix airport "preflight" lot)

Also, I am probably financially not going to be able to swing getting a
second elective EVSE to carry around with me, but I'll see about
something used on ebay.  Heck, when I called Royal Kia in Tucson I think
they quoted me a bit more than $500.  Not going to happen at this time.

Sincerely,

Josh

Comes with a 14-50 plug, but you can get an adapter to 120 or cut the 14-50 off
and put on a 5-15.
Keyholes on back to hang from wall

Subject: [EVDL] Fwd: seeking a third-party "portable" 120 Volt EVSE that plugs
in more flush with the wall, similar to Tesla.

Hi,

I have one 120/240 EVSE that I bought from Rush years ago and which functions well.
However, I leave that in place at home and am considering buying a second one that I can
carry in the car. The Kia EV6 that I got does not seem to come with an "extension
cord" and I got a quote yesterday on one (more than $500) so I'd like to explore
some less expensive third party options.

I've seen some Tesla EVSE units that hung from the 120 Volt wall sockets in a way where they seemed to be more flush
with the wall, and so the weight of the equipment appeared to be less of an issue as to the unit staying plugged in
properly over a period of time. Does anyone know of any other third party quality "portable" or
"mobile" pieces of EV charging equipment that plug into 120 volt sockets and which plug in such that the plug
is more flush with the wall? Price and quality are both big factors here, since this is a "want" and not a
"need".

Josh

Thanks Alan, that plug into the wall looks like it might work.

lead. Used on eBay. I never installed a permanent charger and was happy on
240.
Good luck.

Cor, Note that the original Gen 1 Leaf (Panasonic) EVSE is J1772
non-compliant (doesn't generate the negative-going pilot signal). Many EVs
will reject this pilot signal. The G2 unit (slimmer) corrected this, and
it does put out a fully J1772 compliant pilot.

I still have 4 original Nissan LEAF convenience chargers. 2 of those
have been converted to work on 240V as well, all are still the
original 12A.
Some are (well-) used, others are practically new. I bought them to
convert and sell at a little profit, but now I am happy to just get
the cost back.
$100 plus shipping for the well used, 150 for the nicer one.
All come with the original storage case
Let me know.

You should not depend on the outlet to support the EVSE. Come up with a
solution to take the load off the cable.
