OWA 5.5 generates blank emails

2003-05-29 Thread Lentz, Wayne
Hello list,

I'm having a problem with OWA 5.5 displaying emails with empty message
bodies. It works fine for Admins, so I'm assuming it's a permissions issue.
I've gone through these QArticles: Q301428, Q295067, Q269868, Q313131, and
Q309508. The server is locked down pretty hard, but minimal permissions
required by OWA are met, compared to our old (non-production but working)
server.

Seems that I've run through all this a dozen times and I'm just missing a
single acl that's kinking up the operation. Anyone know what I should do to
get this thing working?

Here's our setup:
Exchange server - NT4 SP6, Exchange 5.5 SP4
OWA server - NT4 SP6, OWA 5.5 SP4, IIS4
Both servers on the same (our only) subnet.
SSL/128 is required by IIS.

Appreciate any help,
Wayne Lentz

RE: OWA 5.5 generates blank emails

2003-05-29 Thread Lentz, Wayne
Sorry, some things I forgot. This happens to email currently residing in
the mailbox. After opening an email in OWA and clicking reply/forward, the
text of the message body then shows just fine. You can go on and type some
stuff then send the reply. Outlook2000 works fine using the same username
and mailbox.

It happens on NT4WS, Win2k, WinXP, IE5, IE6, IE6 SP1. Doesn't seem related
to os, browser, computer, etc, just to permissions. Where, oh where, has my
acl gone?

Thanks
Wayne

Blank Emails

2002-05-14 Thread Dave J. Savittiere

There was a thread on this last week about blank emails, and I didn't think anything
of it (actually I think I only read a few), but today one of my users received 2
emails that were completely blank. 1 was from Ivan with the subject Your Password
and the other was from dloup with the subject Introduction to ADSL . This isn't
KLEZ is it?

Was the user expecting an e-mail from Ivan with his password or a message
from dloup providing an introduction on ADSL? If not, I think they may need

RE: Blank emails

2001-11-01 Thread Barry Patterson

Are these formatted in HTML/Plain/RTF...?
Are the messages from/to certain people?
From certain dates?

The closest I have seen to this was a user who was having 'no transport'
errors. When she would forward me a message that gave this erorr. I could
read it (HTML) but if I converted from HTML plain text it would lose the
text and have a few random characters... Reinstall of Outlook didn't fix. We
either replaced her PC, deleted/recreated her mailbox or both...

Try changing the format of a message and see what happens.

I have a user who today started getting email messages with the body
of the message being blank. Also, old messages in his archive folder open
with the body being blank. He did not have this problem before. If he
forwards me the messages, I see text clearly. I've connected to his PC
via SMS and looked in his Outlook, opened the messages in question and
see the problem he is having.

What should I look for? How can I resovle this?

Stupid question. He hasn't set the font color to the same color as the

What happens when the user logs on to his mailbox on a different PC? You

see the text while forwarding (after he clicks forward and before he clicks
