Send Mail to Every Contact in Outlook..

2008-04-18 Thread Chyka, Robert
Is there a easy way to send e-mail to about 2000 contacts in outlook
asking the contacts to update their phone numbers, addresses etc? ive
found a couple scripts but before I look at them I was wondering if
there is a way to do it within outlook itself.

Any help is appreciated...

Thanks...

If your outlook contacts are configured to be shown as an e-mail address
book. Create a new Distribution List in your contacts, click "Select
Members", change the address book view to your contacts, select all.

Sure. Open a new message, highlight all your contacts, and send to them. Use
BCC.

Isn't there a limit to the number of contacts you can send a single
email to in Outlook? Seems like I remember this coming up before, and
I'm pretty sure it's considerably less than 2000.

RE: Outlook blocking pictures.

2008-04-18 Thread Jason Gurtz
> As for which is faster, it *definitely* depends on the environment.

Interestingly, there was a recent blog regarding network impact of the
various modes.

I think the most important takeaway is from the network scalability
standpoint. ...Looking at the totals:

Online mode == 2x efficiency as OWA
Cached mode == 2x efficiency as Online mode.

That's right, the inefficiencies of http/html/css/ecmascript mean that the
network utilization of OWA is an eye opening 4x larger than Outlook 2007
cached mode.

Oh that's right, 802.3ba will be out in the next 2-3 years so who cares?

Subject: Display address issue

On our domain, I'll call it aaa.com, we also host mail for bbb.com, a
related but distinct domain. Most of my users who are in company
bbb.com, also have an additional address at aaa.com (partly for business
continuity purposes), but their bbb.com addy is the primary.

Now at one office, [EMAIL PROTECTED] sends mail out through us, and when sent
to another user on my Exchange box, her address shows as [EMAIL PROTECTED],
so far so good.

But when she sends to an outside address, like gmail, yahoo or anything
else not on my server, her display address shows as [EMAIL PROTECTED] I've
been thorugh her configuration on her Outlook, and everywhere her
address is listed there is bbb.com. I've even deleted her extra address
at aaa.com, and her mail still shows up at an outside address as
aaa.com, although then when you reply, the reply will bounce because
that address no longer exists. It almost seems like it must be
something on her end of the connection.

I've ensured that [EMAIL PROTECTED] is her primary address in her mailbox
account. I'm trying to figure out what causes this issue, and how to
resolve it. Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

David

OT -- Xonbi - like it?-

2008-04-18 Thread Kevin Miller

Has anyone played with Xonbi yet? http://www.xobni.com/friend/MTA4MTcx I think
that I am in software love with this product. Pretty graphs showing when I get
emails from people, phone numbers striped and saved for me ( I am lazy), all of
the attachments from people in a super fast to get to spot (this saves me huge
amounts of times) and the social thing is kind of cool.

Is there a easy way to send e-mail to about 2000 contacts in outlook asking the

scripts but before I look at them I was wondering if there is a way to do it

Any help is appreciated...

It's a cool product. Rumors were rampant that they were going to get
bought by Microsoft but apparently that never occurred.

My only beef was resource usage, but I did test an early beta and there
was still probably a lot of debug code in the earlier versions.

And no, I don't have any invites left ;-)

2008-04-18 Thread Bill Songstad (WCUL)
Quick and easy. Use Word to compose a mail merge and merge to email.
Since my version of Word can't use outlook contacts for a mail merge, I
export my contacts to a spreadsheet, and point the mail merge wizard to
that file as my data source. Once you've completed the merge, it will
have outlook send all 2000 emails to individual recipients one at a
time. On my server that takes about 90 minutes. Be prepared for a slew
of NDRs...

outlook inbox disappeared

2008-04-18 Thread Sohail Qadir
Hello everybody,

I need some help on this one because I am stumped. I have a user using
outlook 2003 connected to an exchange 2003 server. This morning the user
reported that his inbox is not showing any messages. I tried logging him to
different Pc's on the network his sent items, deleted items and the rest of
his email folders shows up fine with all his emails but once you click on
the inbox it says "Unable to display the folder" . If I open his mailbox in
OWA it works fine including his inbox. I tried recreating his outlook
profile that didn't work. I moved his mailbox from one mailbox store to
another that did not work.

Any help will be much appreciated because I don't know what else to try.

Thanks in advance for all your help

Has anyone played with Xonbi yet? http://www.xobni.com/friend/MTA4MTcx I
think that I am in software love with this product. Pretty graphs
showing when I get emails from people, phone numbers striped and saved
for me ( I am lazy), all of the attachments from people in a super fast
to get to spot (this saves me huge amounts of times) and the social
thing is kind of cool.

Dude, I sent that to you months ago. Search is great, but it only does the
mail folders. The images are not pulled from contacts yet. It indexes 10GB of
PSTs for me. Analytics take awhile. It doesn't listen to add-in management
settings through the registry.

I am amazed at how fast it started working. Seconds after installing at work it
had all of the stats and such up and going for my personal inbox. (granted I
have an insane machine [1], but 4000 messages can take some work to process)

[1] 8 cores and 16GB or ram for my desktop. I love cheap hardware.

Uh, define cheap. Also, you left some variables undefined: $vendor and
$videocard being the two most important ones beside the actual $price.

OK - I'm doing the site now. That's a freaking incredible price.
